Not just "freedom", but a human right. Imagine talking about human rights all, and everyday, you have the real risk of being robbed, punched, stabbed, shot. And while you lie in your hospital bed, what "human right" could you possibly want that means more? As such, without the safety to go about your daily life, it's pointless (almost) to talk about human rights.

The two-tier policing and it being a stronghold of a particular tribe "helps" with the coppers appearing extra fast if something is amiss - unfortunately the police station is now closed... I have to avoid many parts of Londonistan because there can be shootouts, street gangs, dangerous groups and individuals, and kids with guns and machettes. And that's no joke. And no running down of Londonistan for the fun of it. Aaah, China? That's Heaven! I jaywalked, a traffic volunteer granddad haul me aside and gave a kind lecture on the danger. I sneakily chucked a sweet wrapper, a bunch of schoolkids ambushed me and gave me a sound scolding... I used to load up my luggage with gifts when I went back for visit and paid for the restaurant bills. those days are gone. what makes china so interesting for holiday because it includes tropical weather from south, minus 40 degrees from north, desert and grassland in inner Mongolia and xinjiang, and of course the world's highest mountain everest. every region has their own unique culture and language.

Not too long ago it would have happened in China too. I have been living here in china for 22 years and when I first came such crime was rife - even people having their hand cut off by a passing motor bike just to steal their watch or whatever. I had my phone stolen from my back pack, someone cut a hole in my back pocket to try to steal what was there, and I had a wallet stolen from my bag. Now its different because people are richer but who knows, as the economy here gets worse there's plenty of people with less money. Hopefully it won't change.

The walk in Guangzhou at night looks so relaxing and comfortable

I actually went to Guangzhou in mid-July for a four day trip, it was fun and there is an indoor ice-skating facility there, and it really gave me the vibe that I was in a snowy place (yes, there are snow in the facility). Also, there are a lot of surveillance in Guangzhou, I heard this from my parents who told me when we were on the trip, and I must confirm that to be true. But still, it is not safe to go out at night.

I spent a year in China (GuangZhao) back in the late 90s. I felt safe. I never encountered any problem, day or night. The only other countries I feel as safe are Switzerland, Denmark, and Finland.

Thank you for the video! I do feel bad for those who commented that the videos you made were propaganda videos. Let them believe what they want to believe. I have never been to Mainland China, I have visited Hong Kong and stayed there for a little bit, Taiwan, and Singapore. I definitely am looking forward to visit Mainland China soon.

I've been to China, I've been outside at night, it's definitely very safe and the vibes of true living freedom is there in China, even at late night👍🫰✌️🤩

Based on my experience in China 2013/14 it's very safe, you could literally walk everywhere with your eyes closed at any time of the day/night. The only time it would be dangerous if you made a conscious decision to break the local laws or disrespect the culture. There is a dark underbelly of course but as a tourist/student etc. you're unilkely to get involved, more likely if you're in business etc.

I've lived here in CN for nearly 10 years - It is the only country I can walk around anytime, anywhere with very little risk and this includes all the big cities. Public disputes occasionally happen, I just don't get involved 👍🏻

as a US citizen, it's really sad that there are large swathes of any major US city where I wouldn't want to be walking alone after a certain time of day. especially if you don't look like a local resident.

Just subscribed what a great video, you are talking a lot of sense. I have been travelling to China for over 20 years I do business in China. The people are great, I have been to over 20 cities 10 I could name the rest I have forgot there names. China opened up for business when Hongkong was handed back before that you had to deal with an agent in Hongkong. China is great the people are great. It is safe friendly. I don't know if you have been to Nanjing it's amazing the old capital of China well worth a visit. I am very conservative politics wise but I love China they have got so many things right in a lot of ways. I am looking forward to seeing my suppliers soon they look after me like a King great take on things and so true in your words Michael

Love the video, been to China myself a few months ago and was very positively shocked. Do please keep in mind tho, this is not just Canton part of China. Visit anywhere in China and you will get a very similar experience. I've spent almost 3 weeks in Wuhan, beautiful architecture with light shows, people running and dancing by the river, flying kites, singing, eating food, kids playing on their skateboards and everyone being very, very friendly. People here in UK only know Wuhan from the Corona virus, and seem to think that it's some uncivilized village. It's not backwards, but, much of China is a bit tropical, which means viruses spread more easily - this has nothing to do with people being uncivilised or eating wild animals. If London become tropical one day, they would have to deal with epidemics every month from all the rotten food, trash and piss on the streets.

Guangzhou is the best city of China beside its safety, it's warm, it's open and it welcomes anyone whether you're rich or not, you can always find your own position in this beautiful city as long as you work hard.

I live in this city and I can tell you walked a pretty long distance in this vlog. When people introduce how good London is, most Chinese will buy it and dream of visiting London one day; but every time I introduce how good Guangzhou is, I only get a skeptical facial expression and 'Really"?
