Only comparaison which comes to mind would be Zidane’s 2006 WC performance at 34 years old. It was even more rare to perform at this age 15 years ago. Dominated the WC KO stages. That quarter final against a Brazil with 3 Ballon d’Or winners on their side… and it was almost like the Zidane was playing against children. The man bodied them. Still one of the greatest individual performances I’ve ever seen from a midfielder (context, age, opposition, and pressure factored in). The guy was a beast at the highest stage.

Now overstanding , why Dutch teams.don't fear well against Italian teams, though they counter attack and sit back, they also know how to use those ball possessions wisely. 8:25 it's the Argentine style of play is issue why it seem they struggle. They will patiently pass around for 89mins then change pace get inside box to score. Teams that sit back & organized it will take time. Brazil vs Argentina is good because Brazil will attack and Argentina will use the gaps in between. Without Di Maria they don't have pace to go behind, so they will patiently play around to find gaps.

@@collapsingspace It's true He scored goals but overall the team becomes weak as it was design to only cross the ball for him, there's no playmaking. Last season in Man UTd, we see it again where he scored the goals but it weaken the team chemistry, hence dragging the team structure overall. And if you think he scored goals he's done his job, NO, for eg. Man Utd the season before him score about 70-80 goals overall and 2nd position, then the season with him scored about 50 goals and in 6th place
