@@yammienoob When the Indian FTR750 flat tracker was first released to qualified buyers in 2017 - it was $50,000. Actually $49,900 with a $5,000 deposit. "Approved Race Teams" got a discount to $44,900. And the FTR750 has a hand built Swiss dohc pure race motor. So $92K seems pretty steep for a hot-rodded street bike.😁 Most of these will be bought by dealers in any case. Be interesting to see if HD matches this. Whatever you think of race baggers - it's good for American motorcycle racing. What is really going to shake things up is if the Europeans and Japanese decide to participate. Ducati Diavel V4 bagger! Triumph Rocket 3 bagger! LOL

I think this is the greatest move an american motorcycle company has made in a really long time. Indian seems to have a vision that H-D has never had. When indian started back up I thought it would be a bit of a joke. Looks like I was wrong. I like the influence Indian has has had on the American market

Indian is run by crazy people, and I mean that as an absolute compliment. Admittedly I'm an immigrant to North America, but Harley just doesn't make a single bike thats compelling to me. But Indian really seem to have an ethos of building models because they can, not solely because they fit their image. The FTR is one Id have, but I love that this bike exists.

The bagger series was cool last year at road America. Not what I went to watch but cool nonetheless. What I hate about it is harley bros pointing at it and pretending their stage 2 road bike is just as fast and can smoke any "rice burner" like bro you got over 50k into a bike that my 10k naked will outpace everywhere. Calm down man harley makes a good cruiser enjoy it for what it is

A serious answer. Racing is only marketing. Baggers are a market. Very similar to rally car racing in that it needs to be a production line model with sales figures to back it up to even enter the field (say 500 sold). There are limits to the modification (the engine casing has to be factory built, the panels must maintain the design shape). People love to see a version of what they own winning races man. Australia has a series called V8 Supercars, same concept. The initial objective is to advertise the vehicle, secondly sponsors are there to support the teams.

The race baggers go up to about 180 on the straightaways. There are quite a few people out there who will drop this kind of money for a motorcycle, same sort of people who buy lamborghini's. These aren't your grandpa's bagger's. I find the races to be very entertaining as well as bringing in valuable racing technology to the bagger crowd. Wish they'd have a seperate Bagger race on the Isle of Man. Think of it...600 lb bikes flying down a street doing up to 180, having to brake hard to make the turn to avoid slaming into a stone wall or tree.

Hello there, yammy! I had a question... how much heat do 1000cc sports bikes and 1100 to 1200 V4 engines emit? Is it uncomfortable? I never had bikes, and i have no experience either with bikes, so please explain the engine heat situation. Thanks!
@zeepro_tv
@zeepro_tv Жыл бұрын
Liquid cooled bikes do not radiate alot of heat onto the rider. It will be noticeable, but you're never going to feel a hot burning sensation like a big air cooled twin. The warmest 1000cc+ sport bike I've found was a gsxr 1000 that quickly surrounded me in a pleasant warmth after reaching operating temp, indoors.

This sounds just like the what they did with the FTR, 750 the real race bike, not the street bike. They went out did some real research and engineering, then built the best 750 flat track race bike since the Honda 750 track bike (yeah, the one that Harley got the AMA to restrict because it was kicking the crap our of them, so Honda pulled the plug). Indian went out in their first year and decimated the competition. I have a feeling they did pretty much the same thing here. And 92k is not a lot of money for a real race bike. This is not some luxury exotic street bike, when Indian builds a race bike it is just that, and they are deadly serious. People should not confuse this with something they can buy and go out on the road.

They want to beat Harley, this is a base model race bike, cannot be street, the reason Indian exists is to take market share from Harley. It’s not bad for anyone, Harley’s factory team is volunteering, Harley needs to step up, win on Sunday sell on Monday? Lots of victory owners got screwed by Polaris, Indian will force Harley to build a better machine, FYI you can buy all the Harley race parts.

It means that these motorcycles are built to comply with the regulations and rules set by Moto America for their King of the Baggers races. That's why Yammie stated that if you buy one of these Challengers and you show up to a race, the bike already complies with the regulations, it will pass the inspection by the race stewards and you can race it if you want. That's also why they're track-only bikes.
