FYI - Around 2008, Gibson came out with a Les Paul that you could switch pickups in the exact same way. It came with a set of humbuckers & P94’s (humbucker sized P90’s). It came out about the same time the reverse Explorer & Flying V did!

Lee! After all the years following this channel with all the music, tests, interviews, etc... I bought a Chapman (absolut beast!), gears, I've discover bands and artists, you've gotten me through days of fever and nights of staying up with crying kids.... always loved Bea's, Rob's and Pete's playing. They are great guitarists and guys. But today is the day when I found myself waiting for your playing the most! From something that long ago looked like really insecure struggle to just come up with something on video (sitting beside those guys while representing Anderton's, so I can imagine the pressure), to realizing some stuff with small steps, to finally find confidence in your playing! You know that you know what to do, and you love to do it. And you do it really well, my man! I've always loved a complex, melodic solo, despite the genre, but I love your growth as a player even more! You're now my favourite from Anderton's. Keep up the store and the playing! I'll have a cold one for you tonight. Cheers! 🇫🇮

Typically there’s not much difference between neck and bridge other then output maybe. But in some cases the pole spacing may be narrower on the neck to line up with the strings.
@murrayguitarpickups95452 жыл бұрын
To clarify about the difference between a neck and a bridge pickup, back in the 50s there was literally no difference but later as pickup winders like Seymour Duncan and Larry Dimarzio start making custom sets and intentionally wind the two pickups to sound at there best in there given position which is generally higher output on the bridge but there is no real rule to this. Pickup readings often don't tell us much about the actual sound of the pickup
@paulbellamy28102 жыл бұрын
ISTR CS Guitars posted a video on the difference between neck and bridge pickups. Output and tonality being the key differences, so they sound different enough, but not wildly out from each other.

Any guitar that has replaceable bits requires some forward-thinking. After decades of bitter experience, I recommend buying several replacements of those bits. All due respect to the manufacturer, but no one can guarantee they'll be in business forever. The last thing you want is a plank, and if you plan on keeping the guitar for some time, extra bits are a sound investment.

Hmm I wonder if they could make a guitar version just for active pickups ? I mean id rather have the passive one as far as all the cool pickups you could have but I like active pickups too so I was just wondering. There really isn't as many active ones I'd want though. Idc what people say I like my Jackson with emgs but my Ibanez with DiMarzio or my charvel with Seymour Duncan are more of my go to sounds.

Not for everyone cost is an issue. Not to mention having another set of pick ups is definitely cheaper than buying a new guitar and having a few sets of pickup's is like having few different guitars for definitely lower price considering that to get a good quality instrument you have to spend at least couple hundred dollars. Idea is actually great the problem is you have to get their guitar which is extremely expensive.
