Everyone’s fucked because governments are refusing the cap and lower energy costs, if companies are making record profits then they raised prices far more than they’ve needed to and we just have to accept it because it’s something we can’t live without, they’re posting record profits proving they’re dong this and absolutely no one is dong anything to help, sadly people will die this winter due to this greed crisis The mental thing is there are still batshit crazy cunts out here who would still rather rely on oil and gas something that the price of will fluctuate massively for many many reasons like war and supply (eventually) etc. as opposed to wind solar and tidal energy that is absolutely free, that should lower peoples bills considerably and that for no other reason than maintenance and building costs going up should keep the price of energy relatively stable.

As a Brit, I'd say a combination of many things but mostly hubris, apathy, ignorance, jingoism, colonialism, and xenophobia. Entirely deserved, it's not like the information wasn't available to us at the time but ppl chose to ignore it time and time again, then they choose to blame each other rather than concede they may have made a mistake voting the way they did. Doubling down isn't a show of strength. One MP thought £800 was an acceptable cost of an "average" pair of work shoes 🧐
