I don’t know… I prefer the accuracy of the newer helmets when it comes to Star Wars. I even preferred the rebel helmets they made a few years ago that were supposed to replace the older ones. The most common complaints I hear about the Vader and Stormtrooper helmets are that Vader’s is always looking up and the Stormtroopers’ cannot turn their heads. I will give you the Stormtrooper one, but with Vader, I actually prefer it looking up, as Vader is always slouching a bit in the movies, so when you lean him over to make the helmet look straight, it actually looks more accurate. Also, I prefer the newer helmet being taller to how much the old one looked squished and like the back was sticking out a little too far. As for the new one being too big, I think the cape helps remedy that. That being said, I do like the Vader helmet you showed off more, though I have to disagree with it looking like a cross between the two existing ones. I actually think it looks MORE movie accurate than the one Lego is currently using. Finally, I think Marvel’s helmets are a bigger issue. While the new Iron Man one doesn’t break as easily, the original one was already too big, and the new one is larger. I think bare minimum, Lego needs to give their Iron Mans shoulder pieces to make them look more proportional. I also don’t like how flat the newer face looks. Finally, I also want to mention that I don’t like the newer Ant-Man helmets, either. While the older ones did have an inaccurate mouth hole, they also allowed you to see the minifigure’s eyes (which I think is really important for MCU Ant-Man suit designs), and they also had more shape and better antennas. The newer one has worse antennas and a flat face that you can’t see through. It works on some characters (like Firefly), but it just doesn’t look great on Ant-Man, Wasp, or Goliath.

In my opinion the custom helmet needs the face very slightly extruded, it looks just a tiny bit too flat, but that is about it.

Tbh, I actually like the current official Darth Vader helmet. It actually _is_ in the Lego style and it overall looks great, but the only real issue is the fact that he looks like hes permanently looking upward. A new Vader helmet that is basically identical to the current one, but hes looking more straight would be awesome. Also, I absolutely despise the current Stormtrooper helmet. Its _wayy_ too big and weird-looking. The details are good and accurate, but its not proportionate at all and the movability of the Rebels Stormtrooper-styled helmets is great. So, a new Stormtrooper helmet with the details and levels of accuracy of the current helmet, but the scale and movability of the prior helmet would be perfect. This new, 3D printed Helmet is cool, but I actually prefer the official one overall. But, I do wish there was some printing on the eyes: red for Kenobi Vader; blue for White Vader.

I think him looking up is more accurate. Vader is always slouched a little in the movies, so adjusting the current figure so the head is straighter makes his silhouette more accurate.

I’ve always felt like the newer helmet was better, but I do have an idea for a better mold the custom mold is almost perfect, but I’d love it if we could get a three piece mold that has the chin-strap, then the face with a hole at the top, and then the top part that attaches using a peg connection. Too weak maybe, but the accuracy would be cool. Also, if we were to get a new mold, it would have to be dual-molded to get those red eyes. (Oh, and one other thing: The only version of the old helmet you have is the chrome Vader fig?? That’s so sick!!)

I recommend checking out the custom vader that AV Figures and Cobalt Customs have made. The helmet is pretty much how you described it, and it is so nice.

@@Quiet737 AV does Great stuff but you can just get the Helmet from Firestar toys which is all you need. Or since we all have so many Vaders in our collections we can just take a file an make it ourselves. Hachiroku24 did it an it Looks really good! Plus if done this way its Still an Official Helm.

They have already made improvements. I was looking at my Darth Vader during this video and it is looking straigh and not up and it doesnt look at big as the one you have. I then went over to my final battle diarama and looked at that vader and it does have the issue you were describing. So lego has already done the improvemnts. I only have 2 of the most recent helmet mold Vaders. One from the diarama and one from the advent calander with christmas sweater. So somewhere between when those two came out they made changes.
