We started our Balkan road trip in Zagreb before driving down through the shockingly beautiful country of Bosnia and Herzegovina. After being absolutely spellbound by the beauty there, we moved on to country number two of the trip: Montenegro. We visited Budva, Kotor, Tivat and more!

I go to Montenegro in summer since i learn to walk and that was 40 years ago and it was always crowded in summer ,i can say that now like Budva is less crowded then like 15-20 years ago..then you could not even walk in the evening in main pedestrian front off so many people ...and there were clubs packed next to each other ,Budva was main for parting in summer

Idkn where you went that you could possibly have bad food in the Balkans. Montenegro especially, the food in Montenegro is very similar to the food in Croatia and Serbian. Traffic is bad during the season, outside of that it's normal. People are just real like in most of the Balkans, no fake smiles and overly enthusiastic behavior for tips.

@@Niraol We had friends in the same group who visited Croatia before and their experiences were all positive. However again they were all disappointed in Montenegro. Regarding the food I'm not particularly talking about the native cuisine of the country itself but the way the food tasted in general. That includes a wide range of food from a touristic restaurant pizza to a steak and maybe even a local dish. As you can imagine for a tourist it doesn't mean much how traffic in offseason is. Montenegro at the moment doesn't possess the infra-structure to handle a large number of tourists. When you're a paying customer you don't necessarily need "real" people to serve you, they can be real at home with friends and relatives. When you're in service business you need to be a friendly, polite and helpful. This is universal.
