As an L2 system, it's phenomenal, even this older build (12.3.6). It's solid as hell, man. It's not full self driving, sure, but it does help with fatigue having the system handle 95%+ of the drive flawlessly. Worth every penny IMO.

Yeah. It’s unfortunate. I have a model Y with HW4 and 12.5 is great and should be brought to HW3. HW3’s full potential is not even realized yet and Tesla’s neglect for it kinda sucks.

Did Tesla forget about HW4 cars last year when people who upgraded to a new car with HW4 were told by Elon they would have to wait a long time before they could get FSD back? Those owners went from using FSD to not even having FSD on their new car. People were upset. HW3 will be supported shortly just like last year when HW4 was supported on new cars in a just a couple of weeks. People just have to be patient since I suspect the same will happen again this year.

You’re right they did do this back at the release of HW4, could be awhile but a few weeks sounds like an accurate timeline. Hopefully it won’t be nearly as long as it’s taken for Cybertruck to receive FSD or even basic AP functions.

My 2023 Model X HW3 is still on 12.4.3 and Ive been waiting forever. While my 2024 Model Y HW4 is now on 12.5.1.3.

We have a 2024 M3 with HW4 and still have 12.3.6 as well. I guess there are subtle differences that need coding or something. Or small releases are a safe-ish way to find major bugs that could be really bad in a mass release. Or something.

I got 12.4.3 (2024.15.15) about two weeks ago. What is this 2024.20.9 software update didn’t get that.

I received 12.3.6 (2024.14.9) almost two months ago, then saw 12.4.3 (2024.15.15) around July 4th. After a few weeks I checked my cars software page hopeful that 12.5 would be pushed to me and I received this www.notateslaapp.com/software-updates/version/2024.20.9/release-notes

You’re absolutely right. I’ve been stuck on 12.3 for what feels like an eternity. I’m not even sure it’s worth the price with what my Tesla has received this far, also on HW3 here.

I have 2018 M3 with FSD HW3. At time of purchase nothing was said that it will require HW4/5. If that's what it takes to make FSD function properly, legally, Tesla should upgrade (for free) to whatever HW it needs to complete the purchase!

I think there is still nobody saying that HW4 or 5 would be required, except the people who somehow think that "hard to achieve" means the same as "we won't do it", which is literally the only "evidence" that people have for this claim.

Yes, nothing has been confirmed yet. Eventually we should get a few more updates. When it does stop updating FSD for HW3 users I hope it’s at an acceptable level of consistency.

Elon has completely failed me. Some of us paid over 15k for software that is no longer supported? This is opening up Tesla to a major lawsuit if they’re not careful!

Lol, I laugh at your sense of entitlement. The sooner tesla forget about hw3 the better. Hw3 will have some sort of self driving capability, though it will not be the first hardware version. Hw4 will have limited self driving capability, and AI5 will be robo taxi capable. Now u know, Tesla stock will have a massive surge due to fsd becoming a reality.
