As he said, India has third largest no of billionaires in world after USA and China and has fastest growing economy in world, but at the same time has millions of people who are totally left behind. India is not a poor country but country with large wealth gap and highest levels of corruption at all levels. Hence we are land of paradoxes. India is third largest economy in world (PPP) and fifth largest in terms of nominal GDP.

That means poor. In the 21st century no one cares how much money a country has, people care about a good standard of living. If resources are privately owned by the government or 'friends' of the government and the revenue from these is not distributed to create a growing middle class, you my friend live in a country with a high CPI index. The same is true of Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Iran.

"Not having tissue paper" in toilets isn't bcoz of poverty or something. *Washing* with water hose is much much more hygienic than just *wiping* it with tissue. And then obviously u wash your hands thoroughly too. Also, most Indians irrespective of their class or standard of living will freak out in a "western style" toilet coz we can't feel "clean" until we wash it with water. And that's one of the reasons I face problem when I go abroad. Indian toilets don't make sense to u, your toilets don't make sense to Indians.

The toilet situation- As an indian using western toilets in your own house is fine. But using western toilet in general is horrible for me. I don't know whose ass or what kind of ass was on it. Water is considered more hygienic since all feces and urine are washed off and leaves no bad smell in underwear whereas wiping does leave residual smell behind no matter how much one scrubs with toilet paper. Water washes away feces particle that may get stuck in hairs around our bums which is not the case for wiping.

Democracy doesn't mean much. Democracy is different from good governance. You should know that. There are plenty of 3rd world democracies in this world. Your best friend Pakistan is a democracy too. Most importantly democracy only works best with a smart population. Politicians have long used underhand tactics to win the votes of gullible poor people. Such as Trump rallying his votes from white supremacist and garnering support by throwing migrants under the ditch for votes. Honorable? No, but this is what people will do to win votes. This is what 'modern democracy' is. Your modi is the same, instead of white supremacy, he gets his votes from shouting hindu supremacy. Oh btw, the birthplace of democracy is currently *Bankrupt.* See what happened to Greece? Democracy ≠ Good Governance.

@@yecly yes I'm pretty sure you went to India! And the fact that you just think that I'm pretending to be a white for idk what reason in the world kind of shows the validity of your argument. I'm not even a rich guy, I'm an Engg. student who belongs to a middle class family. I travel through public transport, I've traveled most of the states of my country and I've been to China. So the only person who is delusional here is you. India is a developing country, if you're talking about slum areas then yes there are places in India where people don't have proper facilities but the way your sentence is structured you definitely generalised an entire country consisting of 1.4 billion people here. We have slums and we also have super posh areas and then more grounded colonies where houses aren't too luxurious but they do have every necessity. If you're talking about a labourer who can't even properly earn enough to feed his/her family for a day then yes this might be a case, but roadside? Sir, there are public washrooms in this country, it might've been quite a while since you last came to India though. Such people who don't have these facilities go for public washrooms. But this is all I can tell you about the news you gather from your various media sources. How will a US citizen feel if I generalise the entire country of USA solely based on the facts related to Detroit? Idk where did you visit in India but if you went to a slum for your vacation to find out whether you'll get a washroom to poop or not, then I don't think anyone can argue with you about this. And one more thing, anyone can determine how stereotypical your mentality about Indians is by reading your statement about "Indian accent and moving the head thing". Sir, there is no such thing as Indian accent, we have more than 100 languages, so people here have more than 100 ways to speak your "LANGUAGE OF GOD" English too.

@@spartanAXA there is an Indian Accent, linguist have study it for years. You mix hindi and english, so u get Indian English. There are such things an Indian accent. Maybe that's my experience but I did talk to locals, they believed that relieving in close toilets cubicle is not healthy. I'm assuring you, this is a prob in big cities not slum area which can be understandable. Indian's governments also built programmes to educate the use of latrine and to not ostracised people who work to clean it. Yes, your countrymen still believe in castes. The fight is real. They even shat in Holy Gangga, their own holy river. That says it all. I've met slaves of lower caste ok, the one who are not paid in wages but only given foods. I'm a visiting officer and they give me one of those. I'm not your typic white tourist ok. I'm British, and I can not thank my mum and dad enough for having installed a hose in the toilet. They were smart enough to realize how unhygienic toilet paper really is. Most of us here in the west think that it's disgusting to use your own hands to wipe off your shit. Really? Is it really as disgusting as smeared shit spread all over your rectum, rotting there for God-knows how long? Besides, haven't you ever heard of this thing called a soap? If you're really that skeptical, get a bidet. I was in America for a couple o' months. Every time I had to take a dump when I'm not outside, I was forced to use a toilet paper. 1) Rich poor disparity - Absolutely True 2) Haggling for prices - Absolutely True 3) Cows/Donkeys outside Gucci Stores - BullShit . Sighting an animal or two outside on the road is what I may say is correct. In small towns and villages you may see more. But the cities that have stores like Gucci, you would be hard pressed to find animals roaming around big malls/stores.

Well maybe it's not cows but there are dogs and to all the dog lovers no they are not cute they are feral literally and its sooo sad sometimes because you see them sleeping on the floor and eating from scraps but you can't go near them because they get triggered really easily although this might not always be the case.

@@Banana9011abcd TBH if you come towards them slowly with food and keep giving them food nearer to your house, they will come closer to you, after making sure that the dog trusts you, you can actually let him sleep in your house and feed it daily, after a while the dog might justsee you as it's fellow pack member and will start to lick your feeding hand and will let you scrub its' head.

@Banana9011abcd 5 жыл бұрын
@@syedshakaibanwar2698 Yeah you could do that but that's not always the case some of the times because the environment that they are in and the lack of resources that they have problems can happen for example many wild dogs have mental issues and because they are not treated they can act quite feral. And also about the feeding and looking after situation not to be rude or anything but ain't nobody got time for that.

Mirrors my own experience visiting South Asia. The contrast is striking. One moment you're in a high-class department store. And the next moment you're on a crowded street with dirt everywhere. The tropical weather is also crazy down there. One moment it's very hot. And the next moment you get heavy storms with showers, wind, lightning and hailstones. And it wasn't even Monsoon season. Regarding the toilet situation, you don't have to use the squat toilets, but can find Western toilets in many places. You just need to know where to look.

@The Elite I visited Bangladesh. The toilet conditions there were better than I expected. While squat toilets are still the norm, I never had to use them, as the house I was staying at had a Western toilet, whiles stores and restaurants I went to also had optional Western toilets. I also never encountered any open-air toilets, which I heard about being common in India, yet never saw any in Bangladesh. Seems like it might just be India that has a high prevalence of open-air toilets, not other South Asian countries. So I guess my comment above about South Asian toilets may not apply to India, but should still apply to the other South Asian countries (Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal).
@RazorEdge2006
@RazorEdge2006 3 жыл бұрын
@The Elite Most public toilets in Bangladesh nowadays have bidet showers attached to the toilets. But I don't think that's the case in India, where bidets are uncommon. India is under-developed compared to Bangladesh. As for Western countries, I agree Western toilet habits (toilet paper only, without washing) are quite repulsive. The way Muslims and Asians clean (with toilet paper and water) is much cleaner and far more hygienic.

I was in India couple of months ago.....and your country is dirty....oh so dirty....try to clean up the country instead of using natural beauty and heritage as an excuse. I wouldn't be surprised if someone who has grown up living in a clean city their entire life came to India and talked shit about your country because as much as your country is culturally enriched (which it is), that is because of your ancestors. Not long ago, the capital of your 'beautiful' country was listed as THE MOST POLLUTED city in the world....IN THE WORLD....!!! So, you might think of your country as beautiful (which is a good sentiment), but don't assume that other people will visit and ignore the dirty and unclean environment and shower false praise.

Okay some shopkeepers overcharge you heavily and for a fun you can bargain a little bit and get the right price for you ..and trust me it only happens in street vendors.. and in bazaars ..and not everywhere in india.. And secondly , if they are really asking for a higher price than usual..just give..becoz an extra 200rs will be highly beneficial for them , and for you it's just 2-3 $ ...
