It's true and false. The germans were ready to enter a war with the USSR at the time and Germany pre-nazification built up good relations with Finland. German volunteers joined the finnish war and Germany never froze finnish bank accounts, neither imposed a trading embargo... You know, like an ally would act when it's ally is at war.

I don't think anyone is happy about Finland having the align with Germany (aka the Nazis), but realistically what other choice did they have? If they hadn't done that we would've ended up like all the other countries the Soviet Union took over. As a Slovak, I must say he is in some aspects, but not in this video. You know the Historical Education of Eastern European countries was a ´´bit´´ twisted into a black-and-white mess when it comes to socialist regimes where there are just a ´´few´´ lies by omission. I had to correct my own History teacher when we went through the Cuban missile crisis for example. Missiles in Turkey? Never heard of them. The flags and some unit symbols still have swastikas on them. Only the Air Force HQ dropped their unit symbol and took the actual Air Force logo as their official symbol. And the reason for it was not even the swastika, but to unify the military use of symbols to be similar across all the branches.

Eric von Rosen became a founding member of the Swedish Nazi party in the 1930s after meeting Hitler. Was Eric von Rosen a Nazi in 1918? No. Do people change their political views? Yes. Might be hard to believe for someone from a country where there are only 2 parties, both with very little difference. Swastika was very common symbol in Europe early 1900s (and even before), even Soviet Union used Swastikas, British RAF used Swastika symbols, Latvian or Lithuanian air forces used swastika and Swastika was common symbol carved in door frames in eastern Finland to bring luck to household and there are in museums 100s of years old items and clothing parts with swastikas.
