Just a reminder the purpose of Haslab is to get items made that wouldn’t see store shelves or our collections. Given we got the BAF Giant Man, them “playing it safe” with just the 2 foot figure and no tier figures is weird and shows that the ML team is still trying to reinvent the wheel on HasLabs. Yes ya’ll were here first, but it may be time to take a page from the Joe teams playbook on HasLabs moving forward. Faceplates and heads are accessories. Passing them off as tiers is kinda weak.

They did play it safe. And I think it works. The primary offering should be the reason you're backing something like this. Stretch goals are just extras. With the Sentinel and Galactus the figures themselves were my sole reason for backing those projects - not the extra figures. And it this price point I think it'll fully fund.

I love how it shows them pushing there craft a little forward too. With stuff like the smallest and most natural looking articulated hands yet, and faceplates that fit perfectly under the mask with cutouts (at least on the prototype). The only problem is Hasbro still tends to make shoulders too small if the figure has a butterfly for some reason. And you can’t really swap these shoulders out for bigger ones. wonder if those eyes will be movable?

If I could have paid 200 or 250 for Galactus without the tiers, I would have been happier; instead of factoring in the 2 figures and other unlocks that may or may not increase the value. This is the way I prefer haslabs are to be done. $200 for the figure is a reasonable price compared to current Marvel Legends pricing and they included 2 different expressions in the base offering. Let the product itself determine whether the price they put on is acceptable by the consumers or not. I didn't even have wait for any unlock reveals or anything else that may factor into the value of the item. It's already good enough for me and an Instant buy.

I think Hasbro will offer deluxe figures to compliment the Haslab release. It would be in similar fashion as they did with Galactus. If the consumer wants it, they'll get it separately.

I agree with them playing it too safe. The problem about the EOV is that the stretch goal figures weren’t even related to the EOV. It definitely wouldn’t have been a problem if they included some obscure figures that’s related to Hank. Also I’m kinda surprised with the 24 inches. I thought they’d go 18" so it can replace the Toy Biz one in people’s collections. There’s arguably still a reason to have the Toy Biz one since this one is so big.

I feel the main problem with EOV was the ratio of adult fans with extra money and attachment to the character version vs the amount of backers they needed. The longer the nostalgia, the more fans will that will be established, and percentage that must have it in their collection. Hellcharger isn't established like that, even the small 3rd party sales show that.

Also, everyone bringing up Toybiz Giant Man going for $200, that’s the Community’s fault. That’s second hand market setting that price. Not Toybiz. Giant Man parts were “free” when purchasing a figure that was like $12. Hasbro’s logic is, if collectors are willing to pay $200 for a 14in BAF that came out 17 years ago, why would they not want a 24in one for around that same price!

At $200 it’s priced to sell, but I still hate this. Putting aside my disinterest in this version of the character, I think this is a shit design. It’s literally a scaled up Marvel Legends. I mean, that’s kind of what they’re going for with Giant Man, but it looks EXACTLY like a 6 inch figure. The joints, the sculpt, everything. At this size, they couldn’t do better than that?

I think it’s a solid offering, I do feel that the tiers should just be included in altogether. But it’s also a good test for them to realize that not EVERY HasLab has to be a $500 project. Give the fans something worth having and affordable as well. EOV would’ve made it if it were slightly cheaper and the tiers not being so hard to reach.

I think this is a solid campaign. The thing about campaigns are that they're typically more niche. If they weren't, they'd have no issue selling this at mass retail. It's an excellent figure and a more focused price point. I don't need it in my collection, but if it was, I'd be all over it. They shouldn't do anything to risk raising the pricepoint for these things by overstuffing the tiers. I backed the sentinel because I wanted a sentinel, not sentinel prime figures. This was a good call.

I don't believe that they'll get the troop builders they think they will. And they seem to ignore the fact that Doom and Sentinel both came with heads and figures, unless they are planning a surprise reveal later on at a 16,000 mark. That all said, I don't think this will have a problem funding. It's a good deal if you look at prices of higher-end figures nowadays. This is around the same price as some of those much smaller figures, and a great fit with a Legends collection already.

the toybiz giant man I've seen been going for around 160-180 for a 14 inch figure. for like 50 dollars more I can get a figure that's 10 inches bigger and even more articulation. might still get the toybiz when the price drops when this gets funded so win win on my end. only speaking for myself

Great point about the cost compared to a Build-a-Figure wave. I like that they didn't trap Wasp, Yellowjacket, etc., into HasLab tier rewards. I'm curious to see if they announce any Giant-Man adjacent characters for mainline/wide release (as hinted) elsewhere during the course of the campaign. I could see such announcements actually benefitting the HasLab campaign, which would be an interesting marketing trick. My fear now is that Wasp et al. will end up in $80 multipacks with unwanted figures since that's what they do with most-wanted characters, and all told everything will cost more than if they had just been included in the HasLab at a slightly higher price.

“Unnecessary articulation” is a wild statement. There was a good comment made about the hands on the podcast last night. Having the fully articulated hands is the equivalent to 4 sets of interchangeable hands. The gloved look, looks very good as well. The heads are certainly not the ideal tiers but the amount of new, unique sculpting, detail and the size is well worth the 200.

I think it is a great and simple straight forward offering. I am only passing because I don't care about the character. So it wouldn't matter about the tiers either. I think his articulation is awesome especially for action figure photographers and dynamic displays. I can see someone making him crouching down enough to be punching a villain through the ground. Of course they are scared. Sentinel and Galactus set records and they thought they could do no wrong. They also tried to one up the GIJoe team with the EOV and it fell short. They have the benefit and misfortune of being a failed haslab to see what worked and have listened to all the people complaining about figures locked behind the pay wall. They also watched the Star Wars team do back to back fails and they don't want it. I still feel the EOV was only a little over priced but with the tiers would have been well worth it. People bitching about Giant Man which is a solid figure for cheap only want to complain. If they don't like the offering they to get the money and do their own crowd funded project and see how it does.

I think it's a fair offering, for the most part, closest comparison I can think of, are the 1/4 Neca toys, that are around $159 (18 inches, less articulation, some accesories) and I think the price is ok for what it is, just wish it had a 6 inch Giant Man.

My Godzilla is 13", Surfer and Super Adaptoid are 12", my King Kong is 11", Giant Man from Original Avengers pack and Scott Lang Giant Man are 10", and my Fin Fang Foom is about that as well. Also bought a cheap 5 point articulation Titan Giant Man for $5. Anything over the 12"-14" tall is incompatible with my 5,000+ Figures! So it's a pass for me. Give me a 12" Giant Man for less than $100.

@BoogNice I paid less than $50 for Surter as I got him on sale, and Adaptoid was $70. I'm Premium so it was free shipping. My point was size not cost anyway! I don't think Giant Man should be bigger than those guys!

For your information I started reading Comics in 1964, I was the only kid who started First Grade being able to, mostly, read! I had access to my Uncles Huge Comic Book Collection of Thousands of Comics from 1941 to 1964, mostly DC but some Timely, Independents, and early Marvel. I was a lifelong reader of Comics. In 1984 I became Manager of a San Diego Comic Book Store. Two years later I opened my own Comic Book Store! I owned my own Comic Book Store for 24 years! I dare say that I know Comics inside and out, at least up until 2010! I could write my own Book about Comic Book Characters! Maybe several books! Damn little I don't know about any Super Heroes, again, up until 2010.

I would get it, but the Anatomy of the figure is so strange on Giant man. He got low and tiny shoulders and long legs and it kills the superhero look.

I dont know if im sold on the articulated hands. Other than that my only actual complaint is that i wish one of the tiers had been an updated wasp, and maybe a gold and blue ultron repaint

I'm positive that Giant Man is basically around the same size as those premium scale three Zero transformers releases which are huge

Safe? Yes. $200? YES!!! And sure, everyone would like a couple additional figures, but if this was $250 folks'd be losing their minds: "Ohmigod, what're they thinking this is so expensive I could get a Toybiz Giant Man for $200 on eBay Hasbro is out of touch they want his to fail yada yada."

It's fascinating to me that the current collecting community (a) accepts a $200 price tag on a figure that 5 or 10 years ago would have been a 'superdeluxe' available to buy at mainstream retail for probably $50-$60 (b). Thinks Hasbro is 'playing it safe' with a $200 release of a bigger figure (compare with Fing Fang Foom) with absolutely nothing to justify that price. This isn't, in any reality, worth $200. I'll take a bet with anyone: this isn't going to get funded.

Your comment will be here when it gets funded.. it’s a 2ft tall figure. The old toybiz BAF is selling for almost this much on the secondary and the new offering crushes the old one. I mean, what do you want? You collect Marvel Legends or just here to disparage them?
