Looks like HB implemented the touch screen focus points synchronously meaning it won't change while it is busy finding focus. HB should maybe have a look at something similar to the multi core processor implementation of the Olympus EM1 mii for their next version.

Thanks guys. AWESOME and balanced review! NO camera is perfect but this X1d sounds like it has more than its fair share of problems. I cannot believe it does NOT have a LIVE histogram (!?!) which is extremely useful for outdoor/landscape shooting. The upcoming SHOOTOUT with the Fuji GFX sounds great. Looking forward to it. And excellent shooting by Jordan. Nice job. Thanks guys.

Two things. (1) Picking nits, I believe that it is a 35-point focus system not a 45. (2) Low-volume cameras can't average-down the cost of firmware per camera like a Sony or a Canon and are left at a competitive disadvantage.

I am surprised about this review, when I handled a X1D at the store I must say I didn't like it, and I thought that was just me. Now when I see this review I have to completely agree, and his sentiments are exactly what I felt. I also handled a Leica SL at the same time and fell completely in love with it.

this is a perfect example that shows that +TheCameraStoreTV is heads-and-shoulders above any other YT "gear reviewers": they don't hold any punches. they give the ultimate reality check to the OEMs that no other reviewers will...and do not confuse them with those bald, angry reviewers who seem to do the same but in reality just shill for Fuji. keep it up, TCSTV, hopefully this makes the X2D better even though i won't be able to afford one in this lifetime.

thank you . Interesting view, I do believe that for a camera of that price there touch screen should be more reactive, camera should take more frame per second , it shouldn't fill the buffer so quickly and the bookeh seems to be too geometric , I wish I could try one of these very soon , I think the X2D will solve all those shortcoming . hope they improve the EVF

Wow. I thought I was the only one who didn't think it was working well The fujifilm 50 is a pretty nice camera even though I don't shoot shoot fuji. @johnhjic27 жыл бұрын
I Know that I have like all you work up until this video were I thing you have just got it wrong. I love this camera Yes its a big cost but so nice to use. Hi, I know you heated the Hasseldlad X1D, But I just been to one of the camera store in the UK and took both cameras out that the Fuji GFX and the Hasseldlad X1D and I found the Fuji uncomfortable to hold just awkward to control in manual i.e. changing most of the setting other than aperture. As to the image quality there was little to no difference on what I shot, But when I have look at other test I think the Hessalbad is still just a small bit better. But the Hessablad is so much nice in the hand. You have got to remember that both of these cameras are medium format and need to be used as such.
@MrDamianOZ7 жыл бұрын
If you are going to compare medium format cameras, please take a look at wildlife photography (both at how cameras handle this type of photography and what lenses are available). Especially between Fuji and Pentax, because they seem to be the best choice at the moment.

Well... I would take a Bluetooth trigger gladly. So you could pair either a phone or just a dedicated cheap game controller to work as trigger! Other thing is just this... Use the timer... Timer and touch screen is as well great combo!
@VittorioSergi7 жыл бұрын
yeah, and i'll be standing there with my thumb on the touch screen for long exposure in bulb mode right, com'on get serious the lack of a remote port is unexcusable on a 500$ camera, even more so on a 10000
@lorenzoamato9537 жыл бұрын
Bluetooth is the only viable option here. There are too many situations when timer is not ok, and using the touch screen for a long exposure pic in a 50 mp camera on a tripod is... well... emh... (to phrase it nicely) very wrong. And c'mon, even bluetooth is not ok, as there might be other things you want to use the camera bluetooth for, or you might find so much easier to have a cable and a small and easy to use mechanical apparatus in a vast series of circumstances.

Good honest review, thank you. Big thank you. too, for changing the bloody awful intro music to something reasonable. This camera is certainly not for me. Hey Chris & Jordan this is Vivek from India and always love your way of providing the insights for cameras and gears. I am waiting eagerly for Fujifilm GFX 50S review and comparison with X1D. One more thing I would like to confirm that Fujifilm is not going to bring any successor to HS50EXR. I just loved that camera for its certain type of practicality in some cases and there is still a place for a successor of a camera like that. Hope you confirm about this.

Chris Nicholls, does fantastic work of reviewing cameras and gets it right most of the time. He makes no bones about it, unlike some of the other Fake or Pseudo Reviewers out there as Talking-Heads & Shills. Hence, TCS is one of the Top 3 YT Channels for genuine stuff. Rightfully he didn't like the X1D very much. GFX is a workhorse of a camera. X1D is smaller, and good for Hassy Fans.

Perhaps this is a silly question, but why two cameras for filming - a GH5 and A6300? What does one offer that the other doesn't? If it's just to have a second camera angle/camera ready for b roll or whatever, wouldn't it be better to have them be from the same brand for lens compatibility?
