I bought an excellent condition X1D II and got the 45P lens. Since then, I got the new 75P and the 28P. These lenses fill my photography needs. This keeps my kit lightweight. I love the images you showed at the beginning of this video - this camera yields outstanding colors. I really do not need the X2D. Getting the V series of lenses may be in the future, but for now, I can meet all my photographic needs with this combo and haven't sacrificed image quality. You feel as I do when I hold this camera. Love it. ❤❤❤

The X1D II seems to be discontinued (according to some online stores and Reddit posts)? As of Nov. 2024, I can’t find it in stock anywhere despite it still being featured on Hasselblad’s website.

stick with your x1d2, it's much lighter than the x2d. I recently sold the x2d and got back the x1d2. I love the mode dial, the overal size and shape of the x1d2 much better than the x2d. I don't need 100 mp and I prefer the color output of the x1d2 either. The only thing I am missing is the incredible ibis on the x2d.

The image quality of this camera blows my mind. Never have I had a camera where I don't want to edit anything, the colour science is the best in the business. I got frustrated with my X1D-50c, which I sold. But I still haven't sold the lenses, and I'm going to get the 2nd version, it looks a good improvement.

@@laurencetaylor1092 Definitely an improvement of upgrading to the X1D II, larger screen, faster bootup, slightly faster AF. I find the rubber of the X1D-50c to age pretty badly once the rubber grip wears out, and it can get sticky.

One question: do you ever use the JPG setting to get out of camera JPGs? Are there any pictures profiles available, like standard, vivid ...?

Loved it through the years I owned it, but once I switched to the X2D I sold off the X1D II and never looked back. No regrets whatsoever.

Oh yeah! X2D is such a huge improvement! That 1TB Internal, IBIS, PDAF, 100MP, tiltable screen, faster response time to name a few. Love doing some test shoots with that camera, will definitely upgrade to that when I get the money.

@@CocoTolentino lets not forget those bigger files too and lack of video feature IMO X1D II is enough for most people, X2D is quite the overkill, unless you plan on publishing your photos to billboards on the street.

Yes, at the moment, X1D II used is enough for most people, and while it doesn’t have any sort of video You can’t really compare Sonys & Canons to Hasselblad & Leicas. Super different audiences.

@@CocoTolentino I could buy a used 55V for 2699€ and a X1D II for 3149€. I don't know if I should rather wait for a new Hasselblad Camera, to get a good deal on the X2D which has IBIS.

@@CocoTolentino The teacher looked at the total of 53 photos and there were 8 sports portraits. These 8 photos are really good. They were taken with Hasselblad X1D+55V, right?

⁠@@cuvermr5655 for moving portraits shot in a studio, it’s all about the flash as it freezes the subject so the shutter speed won’t matter as much. It is really difficult to use autofocus with these cameras, so most times I just use manual and the 55V lens has distance indicators on the lens, which makes it so much easier to measure how far the camera is from the subject.

I love the camera. Does it still get updates. What lens would you recommend for portraits? I don’t know the conversion from full frame? I like 50mm & 85mm.

It’s basically stopped at 1.5.2 for the Firmware. It’s x.79 for converting I’ve used the 55mm (43mm FF equivalent) for basically everything. Great compression, really sharp. There’s also the 90V f/2.5 or the 80 f/1.9 that I’ve tried, which are both amazing and sharp. I’m leaning more to the 90V as it’s those newer lens designs with the clutch manual focus ring
