Another thing happened to me with this issue the other day. The mirror fold stopped working and when I went to reset them like in the video one rear window didn't open. I tried several times with no luck. I investigated this to find the rear right door window wouldn't wind down at all from both that door switch and the master switch. With only the 3 windows in the lower reset position I then took off the rear door rubber piller gator and disconnected the wire connection and re-connected it 3 times - tried this window again from the master switch first and it opened and also worked from the rear door. I then tried the fob button fully open position reset again and eureka! Then used the fob button to close as usual and held for mirror closure and again eureka! The mirrors closed :-) conclusion - checking the cables/connectors by the door pillars can fix a mirror closure fault. Please share :-)

Great. Phone issues I have had: mine recognises both a smartphone and an old phone, but I had issues with the memory capacity of the car not being big enough to take both directories, so had to delete one for it to work with my newer phone. Plugging in obd2 app devices caused my car to try to pair with the phone, even though it already was. Calls sometime get through, but I'm unable to talk, worked only after second call made.

This worked for me thanks. Had battery disconnected at garage whilst clutch done. Mirrors wouldn’t fold but the reset worked. The boot won’t open either, is there a reset for this? Many thanks.

Hello, great video. I have just bought a 2012 Octavia estate and the mirrors will not fold with the key function. I have tried your fix several times but to no avail, I have done the fix by the letter as well. Please have you any idea what I am doing wrong. Kind Regards Graham Tarling

Mine didn't work once and the reset didn't work. I think it had been standing unused for a while and the battery had drained a bit, charged it up, but still didn't work, I think I tried a number of things and it eventually worked. 1, I went around all windows after the down/up stage pressed up on each separate door. 2, physically pushed up on all windows to make sure they were fully up as one wasn't and seemed to stop 5mm from fully up. 3, tried lowering each window separately the pull/hold each window on up . 4, held all window switches on up on drivers door. 5: started car, revved it so alternator started charging, then did reset and it then worked. Which on made a difference I don't quite know. The other thing I would recommend is inspect the wires going into the drivers door behind the rubber bellows on the A pillar for chaffing/breaks and also look at and clean the clip in connections on the A pillar.

you have to turn the switch to mirror in position first if your inside the car and it will only work at very low speeds, but very useful when negotiating another car down a back ally!

Good morning hatboy, wonder if you can help me, I have a MK2 superb, and BEFORE I fitted a new Bosch battery to it, I could fully recline my electric 3 position drivers memory seat, and have a snooze in my t break, then when it was time to go back to work, I'd leave the seat fully reclined, lock the door with the remote fob, and the driver's seat would move back into its preset position automatically, however, since I've fitted the new battery, that no longer works, so I have to hold whichever preset button to get the seat back into position ? Any ideas please.

The pre-sets will have been lost when you disconnected the battery so you will have to set them up again.

Same platform so I don't see why not as long as the car cane with it as standard and has the serves installed. You may need vagcom to activate if not standard.

These are very nice with lots of space and comfort. They have the same electrical systems along with all VAG cars, but each model is slightly different. The build quality should be better than most, but I'm not sure yet.

Hey Harvey! I have a 2012 Superb estate, one day i opened all the windows via remote key by holding the unlock button for a few sec, all windows went down, then i pressed the lock button to close them, all of them went up, and the 2 folding mirrors closed as well, then i sat in, started the car and those mirrors did not unfold. On the mirrors switch i turned to the mirror icon, then the mirrors unfolded, and overfolded :O and i was like " what " ? since then electric folding working, but it doesnt fit back in normal positon, unless i moving them by hand. Any suggestion?

Try using the fold in then out again knob or try the window trick again. If you can't get them to position in the correct out position then maybe they need resetting, not sure how this is done. Vagcom may have a setting for this.

@@HatBoyHarvey hey, thanks for the answer, i tried all of those, nothing worked yet, interesting thing i set the knob to 0 and manually positioned the mirrors, this morning i opened the car and the mirrors folded over again, set the mirrors back in normal position by hand, locked the car, reopened again, and then isn’t happened again:/ i read about a spring in it the mirror case, took of the actual mirrors out, and sprayed some waterproof grease on the spring, but noting happened yet :(

Spacious car, great if you are large or tall. The 1.6 118bhp will be under powered for the size of car, think 75bhp in fabia size car, so when fully loaded with luggage and a caravan you will be honked at. Basically if you're long legged it will be great!

@@yousufuddin3406 try taking off the negative battery lead for half hour then put it back. Try cleaning the actual switch with electrical contact spray with ground off - let dry before testing. Use obd2 diagnostics to see fault. Change clock spring. Repair instrument cluster. Change switch.

@@yousufuddin3406 yes, the radio code is stored in the car now on these, so no code issues disconnecting battery. What your trying to do is reset the electronics for this. If your not car competent find someone that is or has a diagnostics tool to help. Definite fault needs fixing before something else fails. Good luck :-)

I've got a Skoda fabia mk1 saloon and looks like it might have to be scrapped due to the new petrol change in September, absolutely gutted as it's the most reliable car ive ever owned 🙄 Edit: just found the Gov UK car checker for using E10, mines compatible. yes 👍

Compatible, but the fuel isn't as efficient so you will use more of it. maybe try all grades and mixed varieties for the best effect :-)

Ive started to 'de ethanolise' her indoors fuel, the difference is amazing, it runs ok on E5 but thats ok if your getting it from Costco. Never use E10, it will wreck it.

Daft question, but have you tried driving off as I have read that they should fold out above 15km/h. also on early models the A pillar wires can fray behind the rubber boot: revised in later models.

Interesting, sounds as though who ever messed with the system language messed up the mirrors. I would take it back to them and tell them what doesn't work now after they altered it. Was it a VAG service centre or just a local bloke? Thanks for sharing that anyway and hope you can get it fixed. Vagcom maybe needed to fix this.

If you don't have the information screen menu then use the odometer button. Press and hold with ignition off then turn on and the reset will appear - use the steering wheel button to scroll and reset by pressing - you will have to do this twice, once each for oil and then inspection :-)

try moving the seat fully back as this could reset it, then move into setting position again. Have a look at the cables under the seat also
