This song really helped me through my sobriety & to be able to stay strong for the last 5 years. This song reminds me of my mother who really does not want anything to do with me so I purposly moved to the other side of the country to get away from her. She has betrayed me in so many ways & I allowed it because she is my mother but enough is enough. I'll be honest I can really relate to this song. I'm only eighteen years old and I used to be an alcoholic and tylenol addict. I know what it's like to be face down in the dirt and to look up only to see that you're ruining your life and all your relationships. I'm proud to say though that I've been clean for three years now and everytime I listen to this song I'm reminded of what that's like. This song seriously makes me think of my mom. She's so good to me, yet, I am such a bad person. I've never done anything to make her feel proud; I've only disapointed her and made her cry and nearly die from the shit I've put her through. My mom passed away last July from terminal cancer. I got a call on July 9th saying she had gone to see God, as if I didn't understand the significance of death. My birthday was July 10th and I try and hold on to the hope that birthdays to come won't bring back the pain and the emptiness that last year did. I didn't really have the relationship I wanted with her, because I was a stubborn asshole. Her last words to me were I love you. And those words still haunt me. Thx for posting. Good song.

I always struggled to keep up with my own anger and pain and suicidal thoughts. For a long time I would feel more and more guilty about making one of my closest friends worry about me so much. We ended up dating, and I couldn't stop myself from cutting, and he got angry with me. I ended up singing this song to him, and we were on the edge of break up when he realized he's all I've got. I'm still with him now, and when I hear this song I can't help but smile a little.
