One of my biggest fears trail riding on my dualsport.. the side by sides have as much of a right to be there as any of us, but with poor timing, it could be bad. That's one of the reasons I like single-track so much. Atleast you were driving at a reasonable pace.. I've come across some of these things absolutely hauling ass.. which I'm sure its really fun so I can't blame then but it's scary when your on a bike and one is headed twoards you

That’s my biggest fear out in the trail, I’ve had 5 head ons over the years, mostly with friends on a homemade mx track that crossed somewhere. Glad everyone is ok. Thanks for sharing

I grew up riding those trails. I miss it. Back then, you rarely saw another rider. Looking forward to going back.

The fact everyone stayed calm, is amazing, even his buddy's didn't assume the worst and that's awesome. He is lucky you were driving and not some teenage kid hauling ass

Dude, I'm a dual sport rider. But this clearly was a motorcyclist not riding within his sight lines. It's so hard to resist going fast, but you always have to ride with the assumption that there is someone coming the other way.

I ride H&M alot and Rush offroad, H&M does not allow night riding but Rush does. Thats the main reason I only drive fast at night, at least you can see headlights coming at you...

Full blown cars we have to dodge in the woods now. Guys where I ride fly the trails. I jumped off a few times already because of these side by sides.

As a bike rider, we are always prepared to hit the ditch I think. Meeting where they did was probably a best case scenario. At the top would have been much worse. I am actually riding the bike and quads less and getting into the sxs thing. With age comes a cage. Broken bones and injuries just take to long to heal now, lol.

I just “ran” into a situation recently. Going downhill, sharp left hand turn and a truck came fast. I was on right side and hit the soft stuff. I missed the truck and didn’t go over the edge. But, lost it after truck and slid down the dirt road. I had full equipment on and was unhurt, bike a couple of scratches. Only thing that upset me was the truck watched me crash and kept going?

good safe driving prevented this from being worse.

Everyone definitely needs to be aware on 2 track roads. As easy as it is to go fast, you might regret it, there is only room for one vehicle... I was going 65 on my adv bike the other day up a hill, realized that i could not see what was on the top, if a vehicle came id be instantly killed, i slowed down and hugged the right side of the road. so many blind spots on these types of roads
