Hey guys! Thanks so much for having me on. I had a blast diving into how I got started on KZbin with you, as well as chatting about my favorite entertainers like John Hughes, Jim Varney, and John Candy. If anyone found this interview via my channel, I really recommend checking out more of Frankie & EJ's podcast and their main channel where they do a ton of great content: www.youtube.com/@RedCowEntertainment

Home Alone 2 is the only "ain't New York great?!" movie that I don't find insufferable.
@opaljk48358 сағат бұрын
The best New York movies are the ones that don’t show it in a flattering light. Taxi Driver, Gringo, Desperately Seeking Susan, Big…I mean, stuff like Manhattan kinda bugs me. But I never really saw Home Alone 2 as particularly loving towards the city

As a fellow Philadelphian I can definitely relate to the pronunciation troubles 😂 You don’t realize how strangely we say water (wooder) until you travel far away and talk to locals. They immediately ask where you’re from 😂

I’m 45. Losing John Candy was like losing a family member. It was around the time we lost Cobain and Phoenix. No bullshit I think about that guy every 6 months. Steve Martin had a video talking about the cut dialogue from the end of Planes/T/A. He cried reading the script on camera. I still have the people magazine cover with John fishing. It’s upsetting that we never got to see him do more. His scene in JFK showed you what was coming next for him. Miss that dude.

You shouln't be embarrassed for your accent. I think part of it is Philadelphian English isn't a popularly recognized accent, like new york, new england, midwest, southern, etc. So when people hear an accent that is neither General American nor those others stereotypical ones, they immediately register it as "wrong" instead of just a different dialect they are unfamiliar with. Also, i was a huge fan of John Pinette. My parents used to quote his chinese buffet bit all the time!
