Dr. Russ continues sharing his lifelong hunting trip tips, often from Indian Guides he has used around the United States. This is the second of a series of four videos that he plans to share over 100 hunting tips, regardless of the game you plan to harvest. He also shares a few features of the Hatsan BullBoss in preparation for a comparison with an identical BullBoss he owns … and only one has a regulator…. Providing a future video that shows the exact difference between having and not having a regulator on your air rifle. View disclaimer at end of video. #hatsan #bullboss #airguns

for yrs I have dribbled urine out of a milk jug on trails along with placing dirty stinky socks/t-shirts to drive the deer to ambush points. WORKS! I like the feather idea. I would love to put a regulator on my bullboss and on my new Evanix Rex BA in .50 cal. great video.

Nice! I purchased the bullboss 2 times from P.A and both were defects so I'm bullbossless, I washed my hands of the bullboss and purchased Kral air rifles instead. I do own the Hatsan flashes which came to me flawless. Nice air rifles.

Double Nice [in Your case] 👍 I have a Hatsan Gladius .22/long, and it's one of the most accurate/consistent rifles I have! [Comparing to around 15-20 other rifles, some being 2, 3, etc times the price] I also have 2 Kral Puncher Breakers, and I can say the exact same thing for those! Issues with P.A. Yeah, you'll have that 'apparently'... I was sent the Wrong Impact 2 years ago, then sent another in leaking / non-working condition.. Between that, and getting mutilated pellets every time my bulk orders showed up - I'm also done w/ em.

@@DirtyDovi Yep, same here, just awful 👆.I've also purchased Air Arms quality and now recently been messing with the FX line. There are good cheaper priced pcp air rifles but have to be careful and research thorough tho, which I've done better the last few years. I now own over 300 air rifles break barrel (which get dusty) and a slew of pcp air guns :)

@@eddiecahall3824 Right on man, it's great to hear that you got into more brands of rifles, and that you've also ventured into the realm of the 'high end' ones. You absolutely nailed it - research Research RESEARCH when it comes to Any of them, and with enough info, reviews, etc. that's become relatively easy [at least easier] to do. You're up to over 300 air rifles now?! Whoa!! That's awesome!! I get up around 15 and think I'm running outa' room and usually sell some. haha

Hi Dr. Russ, For my mid-term Air Rifle purchase goal, I have been eyeing the Hatsan Blitz. I don’t care too much about the full auto (although there is a fun factor, for sure), but I do like the convenience of semi-auto from a practical standpoint, as well as the .30 cal option, since quick and humane kills are a priority (I’m not a hunter, but our land has been plagued with coyotes these last two years, which has been causing problems). I already own a .357 bulldog, but again I was attracted to the semi-auto feature for less time between shots and not having to take my eye away from the scope to cock the gun, even though it’s a slightly smaller caliber than my bulldog .357. However - you have given me something to think about in this video, since you state the Bull Boss is your go to, when I believe you own both the Blitz and the Bulldog .357. I see this video is about 10 months old - do you still feel this way, even with this being a smaller .25 cal and a single shot repeater? Sorry I’ve been sending so many questions your way this last week or so, but I’m still only about a month into owning an air gun and I’m trying to consume as much information as possible. I find that I like the way you present your thoughts on the various topics and that you seem to be one of the more knowledgeable sources of practical information I’ve come across. Thanks for all your efforts! -Dan

xdmc ... That coyote kill can be done with the 25caliber ... but you need a perfect shot under 35 yards to do it... Even the 30 caliber (which I enjoy too) might take a coyote up to 50 yards ... but a 357 with good shot placement will reach out most of 100 yards. Don't be fooled that you can maintain your sights on a semi or full auto air gun between shots ... and most of them have horribly long trigger pulls when you do shoot single shots. If you want semi or full auto and a great trigger ... you are going to have to step up to almost a $2,000 air gun... keep us in your air gun loop... Dr. Russ

Hey man I’m working on a project that I think you might be interested in, I’m working with a custom design bullet company for some pure tin based slugs for hunting, I don’t have the time or resources to buy the ammunition right now and go testing so if your interested in doing some accuracy comparisons it would mean the world, it’s about as soft as lead and is about 70 the density, so they should work really well, but they’re just expensive as hell because tin is 30 a pound right now, and I can’t afford to do experiments atm. but if you’re interested I would love to help get you some tin bullets for testing in various air rifles like the new challenger 357 side lever.

Great stuff Dr Russ I am watching all your videos but today mainly the reviews on the Hatson bull boss I just got my first true PCP what I mean is I also have a Sig MCX with a 13ci tank but the gun shoots both HP and co2 so I consider it mid-range the other is a Beeman commander 177 the only gripe I can say I have so far with the commander is the Magazine it's not maid very well but I've made my list and have narrowed it down to the bullboss, the invader, and the Diana storm rider more than likely it's going to be the boss PyramydAir won't ship anything higher to Illinois, but I do want a 22 as well so in the summer I'll have one shipped to a friend that can ang visit them to pick up my gun anyway I value your opinion the most you have been around long and with time people seem to be more knowledgeable thanks for sharing all your wisdom

Angelo ... thanks for sharing ... My parents use to live in Traverse City and we made many trips up in to those two fingers north of that city ... one winery after another...and yes paw paw is the name of a grape. Typically, areas that have gambling casinos are on Indian reservations. and while it is a source of income to them ... I believe their tribal names will be less recognizable as time goes by. Dr. Russ

Hey Dr. Is the bullboss still the gun to get ? If so , is accuracy of synthetic same as wood stock ?
@drsrussandpaula
@drsrussandpaula 2 жыл бұрын
The Bull Boss is still the gun to get for its price. Hatsan's main office in Florida is selling refurbished Hatsan Bull Bosses for about $300.... and that is a bargain... I own both the synthetic and the wood stock versions of this air gun ... and both are equally accurate. The synthetic often provides a lighter air gun ... and can be cleaned up like new with some silicone spray where wood scratches are a little more difficult. Dr. Russ

@drsrussandpaula
@drsrussandpaula 2 жыл бұрын
Upperdeck89-1 It is good to hear from you again... keep in mind your state hunting laws which typically require 30 caliber or 357 (also 9mm and 35 caliber too) . Shot placement and typical range in the area that you plan to hunt in are factors... We typically would want the highest caliber possible ... and thus the AEA Zeus 72 caliber is a choice.... but if you are an accurate shooter ... and can hit a deer's head at 75 yards ... consider the 357 magnum, because it will allow you to hunt more items ... and more of the year..... maybe even from your own backyard ... using your same back stop.... Consider clicking onto the circular photo of myself to access our entire channel ... and look for a video that references buying the right caliber .... for you ... Dr. Russ

Was your hammer spring screw extremely hard to turn?
@russjones6497
@russjones6497 5 ай бұрын
Milford ... it is good to hear from you. all hammer springs are harder to turn when increasing the screw and lighter when lightning them up. Be careful not to strip the treads of that screw, or you will have a major project of expanding and re-threading that hole. They can also be harder if the gun is old and hasn't had an adjustment there in a long time... Dr. Russ

@russjones7981 2 жыл бұрын
They are exceptional for target or hunting... and the only problem is that they are frequently too long for air guns that use magazines... one idea was to file off the tips... but consistent flight was lost... secondly ... some gun owners drilled a small amount out of the magazines where the tip was too long ... but the best solution came when they came out with predator shorts ... Unfortunately during this pandemic... they are often not available in quantities... and when they are... they are expensive... but for those who have over come those 2 problems ... they are the ammo of choice.
