Thanks again Mike ... I returned home with a case of Post Traumatic Syndrome Disorder .... which kept me from remembering any of it ... unless someone else or something reminded me. Today it is much easier ... but it is why I try to get our viewers to use alternative weapons on an intruder ... because killing a young neighborhood kid ... or as it happened here in Detroit, a father shot and killed his own daughter trying to sneak back into the house after curfew. I've had my Blitz .30 cal for a couple of weeks now. This thing is a joy to shoot. It's fun to pepper a 5 inch steel plate at 50 yards with a few short bursts and hear every one hit. It is a bit large and cumbersome. I have an AEA 30 cal semi-auto 10 inch barrel with folding stock coming in for when I need to be up and about on my feet.

I received the Hatsan Blitz 30 cal a couple months ago. I discovered that the bleeder valve is left open. It's next to the air gauge once I tighten that the gun was able to charge with air. Check all the screws on the gun and tighten them if they're loose

I've had my .22 blitz for a year, and I have no regrets. I was having problems with it leaking and cutting o-rings when I would fill it. But now I just leave the probe in it. It's actually pretty reliable with most standard pellets you would get at wal-mart. It starts to jam with heavier ammo. I've made the modification on one of my mags, and I don't think it helped much. I ordered a new one recently, and it is way tighter than the ones it came with. The bigger ammo still works great in single shot. It's worth learning the guns perks and pitfalls and how to take it apart and fix it if something goes wrong. I see people sending theirs back all the time. I knew this would be an issue when I decided to drop 1k on an air gun, so I went into it with the idea that I would have to be prepared to learn the gun, and service it myself. I've taken it apart and put it back together a few times at this point, and know the gun like the back of my hand. And yes, it is very lethal. Even in .22. I was thinking the same thing this guy mentioned about a kid bringing it to school. Thankfully they are still low on the radar. I might try to get another one in 30 cal while we still can. I'm very happy with my .22 though.

My repair skills ... just couldn't get that last one to fire. personal observation with the Blitz, is that standard leads slugs will cause accuracy issues. Noted in the Blitz documentation they state tested with lead free pellets. I discovered that 34 gr at 50 yards was fine to start sighting in the new scope. however, When I moved out to roughly 90 yds. I was dropping well short and the accuracy became very erratic. then I looked at a spent slug... I discovered deep rifling in the slug, and realized the erratic accuracy was caused by the spin put on the lead ( think curve ball), and they were dropping short due to barrel drag leaching off the energy. my opinion is that while

The reason not to use any oil on the pellets or in the barrel is not that you will plug “A little hole in the barrel “. (There is no hole in the barrel) But because there is a piston at the front of the barrel that takes the expanding air around the sides of the ejecting pellet and drives the piston forward pushing the cocking mechanism back cocking the gun for the next round. The spring in front of the piston acts to push the bolt forward chambering another round. You don’t want to use a petroleum based lubricant in the barrel or piston because it can combust “dieseling “ causing the piston to move forward with more force than the gun was designed for. Possibly bending the rod that goes down the shroud and possibly damaging the cocking mechanism. I use a good quality moly grease on the mechanism and only silicone based oil in either the barrel or piston/spring. And non flammable cleaning solutions for the barrel. The best deals are the 30 cal refurbished Blitz because they are generally returned new for some reason they did not operate correctly. They refurbished by the guys in Arkansas who IMO do a good job at making sure everything is right.
@drsrussandpaula
@drsrussandpaula 3 жыл бұрын
Strange Brew ... Thanks for your clearly written response... I am no proponent of dieseling ... nor cleaning the barrel with oil ... I believe oil can carry lead particles back down the barrel and into the air mechanisms near the breach. I do believe in a thick bullet lube or grease that helps the pellets get down the barrel in the best possible use of the air behind it. Then I suggest that after using a pellet lube, that the gun is stored upside down for the next few days with the barrel down and sitting on a rag .... collecting any oil that may have been left in the barrel. I find that the more expensive pellets already have a bullet lube on them... but never packed behind the pellet in the skirt area that will cause dieseling for sure. Originally, the use of any oil in the barrel was preached far and wide ... as something that could destroy the leather seals found in a spring action air gun. Nonetheless, I am sure that your system works and that your guns are in good shape. Thanks again for sharing... Dr. Russ

About filling this gun with air when it’s brand new. I got my blitz a week ago and I had the same problem about leaks out of the box. What I did was I dry fired the gun (on semi) 3 times. Yes there’s a bit of air in the tank...to my surprise! That solved the problem completely! And I used my mini air compressor to fill it. Diving tank not necessary. Hand pump not recommended! I dont think hatsan is talking about lubed pellets its talking about lubing the barrel like before you shoot it oiling a patch an not cleaning up the oil, I believe they do this as so new shooters dont mess upp the groups but all you gotta do it make sure to get oil out of barrel port an barrel run dry patches after 5 shots make sure all oil is out of the tranfer port.

I gotta say Doc that my .30 Blitz that I bought last year in Europe has been the pinnacle of reliability (so far!) The full auto mode works perfect and is fun at parties but is also useless, as you say it goes BRRRRT and all the ammo is gone and there are 7.62mm holes every were NEAR the target but not many on it. That said the semi auto mode is where it's at and a lot of fun. We use it for fun and pest hunting and the kids off course love it because its light and just easy to operate. I think the Turks that made it made some improvements over the earlier models, mine is quite heavy to cock and I hear that other peoples older guns are very light. About the magazines, I have two but I only load them fully for shooting and don't let them sit fully loaded for a period of time. I think this helps with the spring not losing it's tension over time. No I don't work for Hatsan but I love this little gun for what it is, a toy mostly. Cheers!

Lt. Lasereyez ... it is good to hear from you ... this video was done about 18 months ago ... on March 19,2021. I couldn't get it to work for any reason ... including taking it apart and looking for the problem inside.... but still no luck. I sent it back, and asked for the semi-auto Invader which I fell in love with. Then ... early this summer, I ordered it again in 25 caliber ( don't believe they have come out with a Gen 2 version, Hatsan has a history of just making some minor improvements to the original version over time. ... and it worked fine... in fact. ... I love it too... and have about 4 magazines for it. it is reasonably accurate in semi - auto mode ... pulling each shot off slowly as if it is a single shot side lever. While I couldn't find a single reason in my shooting experiences for full auto ... I continue to enjoy it ... as well as several other air guns that shoot in semi auto mode ... including Hatsan's Invader in 25 caliber ... AEA's Terminator in 357 ... and the Huben F1. in 25 caliber. I also made a verbal error in this video, when I said it is the first full auto ... and I should have said ..."this is the first 30 caliber available in full auto. Today, Hatsan has several full auto air guns including a pistol. Ive also learned that Turkey is actually famous in making gun parts for manufacturers all over the world... and their origins really came from making shot guns ... something they still do today. I plan to do a new review on my new Blitz soon. Thank you for sharing your experiences on this very fun air gun... Dr. Russ

Dr. Russ it is now 2023 and I have a Hatsan Invader. here is what I found Hatsan Invader Things I would change. The trigger is atrocious this has a 8+ lb trigger pull. When I contacted Hatsan they said it needed to be like that because it is Semi-Auto, but then they also said it was a liability issue. at any rate the trigger pull is to stiff for real accurate shooting. This gun at times will load the pellet but it does not cock the gun so it won't fire, this is random so I have no idea why. When I contacted Hatson they said these barrels are tapered which was not made clear in the stats, they also said these were made for pellets not slugs, well by the time I heard back from them I had already shot slugs through it. I went through 6 different pellet makes and weights and out of all 8 the only ones that will hold a 1" group 5 rounds at 50 yds. is the JSB 33.95 Grain. which in my opinion is not great accuracy but trigger pull could effect it too. Now I shot slugs from 29 grain to 39 grain, the one that shoots the best is the Neilson 34.9 grain which give 5 shot group at 50 yds cover with a dime Things others should know If you are sensitive to heavy trigger pull I don't recommend this gun. If you are looking for a gun just to shoot semi-auto and accuracy is not what your after then you should do ok with it. Compared to the Hatsan Flash in the accuracy department this gun looses every time. now I can positively say this this gun will shove the 33.95 grain pellets through a 1" pine board at 50 yds. It will also put the 34.9 grain slugs through what they now call a 1" pine board at 50 yds and it will also put them through 5/8" plywood so this thing will kill I have no doubt about that according to the one pellet rifle ballistic program I could find at 50 yds it should be producing 52.37 ft.lb. of energy. Now this gun when it was shot by pyramid in 10 for 10 measure 870 fps not 900 fps at muzzle with a 20 grain pellet.

for us germans "blitz" (lightning) is a synonym for "schnell" which means that something is fast. if something is really fast, we also like to say "blitzschnell" (lightning fast). the photographer uses "blitzlicht" (flash light). i think the weapon was named "blitz" because of its speed, and not to express a parallel to the nazi regime

Hey doc, that regulator might be set so high that it needs to fill for a bit before it’s going to hold air . I had that same problem on an 30 cal AEA rifle. The regulator is going to “dump” when the pressure gets down to low. Since it’s empty it is going to hiss until it has enough press to seal. Mine hissed for a while then slowly sealed and actually hold pressure superbly.

They have had several fully auto options for a long long long time. That Sniper was late to the game and it's a bolt action.

One day (we are only 2 years old) we will shoot Evanix for a review... my first question is that since it has shot full and semi auto pellets for 20+ years .... why isn't it a leading air gun manufacturer today? I don't say this with sarcasm ... its history just begs the question.... Dr.Russ

Sir I strongly suggest you try the LCS Air Arms select fire 30 caliber SK 19 ! It is accurate out to 300 yards and is flawless in its design and function. It is simply the best repeating air rifle on the market. The only knock on this rifle is the non removable magazine. When you shoot it it will make you wonder how every other manufacturer is so far behind this design. You can run a suppressor on them and they run perfectly and they are so accurate only FX competes with this area. The Air arms SK 19 is the best rifle for full auto ever made with air. Like you said fully auto is not wonderful for any real use in air rifles. However the semi auto fire from the SK 19 is is brilliant and reliable. If you have not fired one you are missing out.

Actually, you can have a moderator on the end. The problem is that you need to weld the rectangular pin inside the left side cover to the linear gear to do it. That pin twists and causes a lot of drag which takes a fair amount of energy to cycle. The moderator drops that energy even further causing a failure to cycle. If you weld them together, that resistance is gone and your suppressor/moderator will do just fine. Additionally, it is best to rewind the magazine spring so that it can cycle rounds in better. The factory setting is too weak and causes the bolt to strike the magazine on occasion.

@@russjones7981 - I have done a bunch of mods on my airgun on my KZbin channel. The issue with the Blitz is there is a symphony of actions that must happen in the correct order for it to work. If any part binds up, the whole thing fails. The biggest bind is the small rectangular part I referred to above. I just welded mine to the linear gear and it significantly improved the performance. In fact, I haven't had a jam or cycle failure since. I also drilled a hole in the opposite side of the magazine and set the spring in that hole which fixed the bolt striking the magazine issue. Check out the Huben K1 for a great Semi-auto. The LCS SK-19 is a great Full auto that is based on it, but in my opinion the Huben is a better air gun. Very reliable and much more accurate than the Blitz. Heck, you can't even hear the Huben fire because of how well the suppressor is made.

As an aircraft mechanic I know for a fact airlines will NOT ship any items above 50 PSI and some will not ship above 40 PSI... we have to ship aircraft main and nose wheel tire assemblies all the time. All N2 and O2 tanks are 0 pressure... As far as cargo ships are concerned, I would think the same safety precautions are usually adhered to. Since this weapon is made in Turkey and all, I think they are restricted on pressure vessels shipping.

Good to hear from you baynerw.... please continue to share your knowledge with our viewers..... I know that you can not fly with filled air containers or scuba tanks due to the same rules you are referring to... However, there is a big Hatsan Office in Florida that receives those shipments, and typically place air in those air guns before they are shipped to PCP air gun stores ... or direct to customers. When you receive one without air ... then there is a good chance it leaked out between the warehouse and the customer. Thank you for your videos! I am a Blitz owner, I'd like to think that this video, and my own personal experience would keep me from purchasing this rifle if I did it all over again, but I am not sure any wisdom would have helped me once I wanted it ! Originally, the want, was to have a semi auto air rifle. When I started seeing the videos on the Blitz, I thought, "If semi auto is good, full auto will be a blast!". So my not so fun adventure began! I'd like to say before I start with all of the bads that I had with this rifle, that HatsanUSA helped me with every single problem that I had, and they have resolved every problem also. Thank you to those great people over there! My shipment came missing some magazines, and no fill probe. That was a buzz kill, it felt exactly like the old ABC start to their sports show, "The thrill of victory! The agony of defeat!"! LOL I wrote HatsanUSA, in all fairness, things were handled in a timely manner, but at that moment, if they were right next door to me, it wouldn't have been fast enough! Now I finally have everything needed to do the things we need to do, before we can start having the fun that we get to have! Seeing how some people have had problems with filling the air tank, I guess I was very lucky, because my rifle took the air and kept it the first try. I had zero chance of being able to seat any seals if it didn't because I am on a hand pump! In no way do I advise anyone to hand pump their Blitz! Not unless this is their way of training for the olympics, because it is definitely, WORK! Once everything was aired up, I am finally going to be able to shoot this rifle, NOT! The trigger wouldn't work! It felt like it was bound up on something. I tried flipping it from semi auto to full auto, Denied Again! The mechanism only moved to the middle, the halfway mark, it wouldn't go all the way over to full auto! I wrote HatsanUSA again, the give me the required items to send the rifle back to them. They do their thing, I receive the rifle back again. I know, I should have given up, right, done the refund thing, gotten myself one of those nice bullpup big bores that they have! But I did not, I stuck with it! I believe it was approximately 5 weeks total, give or take a few days, before I actually fired my first pellet through my Blitz. Semi auto has been flawless, full auto has been flawless! Thinking about the cost of operating this rifle, caused me to choose the .22 caliber version. From what I have read, it is the version that has the most problems! As I wrote earlier, HatsanUSA has taken care of every single problem that I have had, including extending my warranty to cover the month of down time. I intend on shooting this rifle as much as I can afford to shoot it up until that warranty expiration date! I hope I never have to bother those great people at HatsanUSA ever again! Gotta be positive, right? I clean my rifles after every adventure, I hope this helps keep everything working as great as it's currently working! I also keep it lightly oiled where I am told and shown that I am supposed to keep it lightly oiled. It is definitely the most entertaining pcp that I have. I am hoping there are a lot more awesome days ahead with to this rifle then there are buzz killed days! Thank you again, for your great videos, I may not be wise enough to take all of your advice, but I have learned from everything that you have shared! And your home range, AWESOME!!!

The DiMaggio Line?? I think you mean the Maginot Line. DiMaggio is the name of a famous New York Yankee who advertised drip coffee makers in his old age. Charles de Gaulle was just a lowly colonel at the beginning of ww2 and the CO of a tank regiment. He wrote a book on tank warfare in the 1930s which the French army ignored but which the Germans loved and made good use of. The French had superior tanks and mechanization but didn’t know how to use them since they were still fighting ww1. The Germans also understood the use of tactical air power as fast moving artillery. The word “blitz” means “lightning” or sometimes “flash lightning”.

I was about to buy the Blitz, but same reasons (new tech, and ammo consumption) send me to the Invader in 25. I don't regret it. I love the Invader, its accurate and lots of fun to shoot. They send it with no air, and after the first shooting session I left it with 180bar, after a few fays I check it and it was down to 150. I took it out shoot around 100 120 pellets and slugs, pump it back to 180 and left it to see if it will go down again. If it does i'll go to the store with the cylinder and they will change it for me or check what is wrong with this one. Over all I am very pleased with the Invader. If you get one and want to remove the handle on top, untie the front part of the barrel, remove the plastic cover and then the plastic fore end, this way its easier to remove it. Cheers.

These guns are awesome. The hatsan blitz is probably the next gun I get. I currently own an smg .22. I just made a video of it showing how powerful it is (its on my channel). I took the smg .22 over the hatsan because I can load hundreds of rounds to it and simply swap the bottle when the bottle is empty. I thought it would be a little better for self defense. The smg .22 is every bit as deadly as the hatsan. The hatsan probably is a little more deadly as it can be in .30 cal and shoots about as fast as my smg .22 shoots 22 caliber.

Wheel Ape... It is good to hear from you ... we don't need to stay as focused or use cleaning solvents on air guns that we used on powder guns earlier. The reason being is that their is no burnt powder residue. What we do want to stay focused on is the leading in process and smoothness of the barrel's rifling as we break it in ... shooting between 200 and 500 rounds of lead pellets. Fortunately, you have found two different lead pellets that shoot tight groups and are accurate for your gun. Determine which one has the best groups at the distance you typically shoot at ... and stick with that one. Push a soft cotton swab thru about every 100 rounds to clean up excess lead fragments. On the second pass, push a cotton swab that has several drops of oil or silicone .... and if you use oil, be sure to store your gun barrel down on a rag ... so that the oil runs out the barrel...and not into the breach where it can mess up your air valves... This might be a dumb question but do you have to fully push the bolt forward until it clicks before you start shooting?
@russjones6497
@russjones6497 2 жыл бұрын
@dbod4866 .... Yes, this is a must ... because the trigger may not fire, but more importantly, if the bolt is not pushed forward enough until it clicks, this would allow air to come back towards you... rather than going down the barrel pushing the pellet out. In some rare occasions, viewers have felt air coming back at them ... usually just a whiff ... but this needs to be repaired so that all air goes down the barrel. The problem is worse if you had a powder gun ... because the air might have fire in it ...and louder ... please stay in touch. Jason ... I dont own one but it is on my wish list.... 25 caliber is my favorite and needed on my property ... the onboard pump still requires some serious effort to keep the gun pumped up for each round.....and using that marauder type mag is very common these days .. no problem there.... Dr.Russ

I got the Invader and I love the thing. The Blitz never impressed me. I bought the Invader from the factory in Arkansas at Hatsan USA, mainly for the novelty Dr Russ to be honest. But let me say ,,WOW it's got some power. I went with 22 cal and it's shooting the 15.89 jsb's around 870 to 900 fps . I've never once have had a issue with it. I was gonna sell it and it's actually posted on Airgun Nation forum, it's a old post. But like I said it was a novelty because of the semi auto action but it turned out to be a serious hunting gun. Thanks for the video Dr Russ

It is good to hear from you Todd Roy ... and now that I have my second Blitz in 25 caliber.... I can provide two comments... one is that while the Blitz has become the number one best selling air gun of Hatsans, there is no outward improvements or second generation as we see in other air guns..... and second, I havent been able to see any overall manufacturing improvements either in terms of fit and finish. Hatsan wrestles with Crosman and Gamo as the number one air gun manufacturer in the world ... and I am not aware of any second generation air guns from them... but they have produced more different models than the other two ... and they continue to introduce new models ... allowing the old to just become other choices. They are heavy and over the past ten years their new models continue to increase their barrel length which adds to accuracy ... but I wouldn't take them onto a mountain hunt where I have to cover several miles over hill and dale .... at the same time, they make an excellent bench gun and fortunately for me... the destructive critters continue to come onto my property where Hatsan has no trouble putting them out of their misery. Lastly, while they aren't the first air gun to be offered in full auto ... I believe they are the first full auto in 30 caliber. Lastly ... even though they have a larger than normal round magazine, the full auto mode empty's it in about a second and a half.... way too fast. Dr. Russ

Hello Dr. Russ the honest insight was very nice thank you. I recently bought a Hatsan Galatian tactical semiautomatic. It is a wonderful looking rifle but it sure is heavy. I had to send my rifle back as well due to inaccurate shots 1 to 2 feet to the left. They sent me a new rifle and it does shoot tacks at 100 yards. Ì would have to disagree with the statement you made about Hatsan barrels. The QC is far from superior and since my unfortunate experience and subsequent research. I have found the barrels are the biggest hatsan owners have with there rifles. Would you please do a review of the Galatian semi auto? There is not one professional review and maybe 5 videos all together of this particular rifle. Thankyou again for your honesty and professional reviews.

@russelljones4132

Havendale Farms ... i own both and I promise you ... that you made the right decision. A regulated gun is always superior in the accuracy department than a non regulated gun. My regulated guns .. Umarex and Avenger are superior than 89% of my collection because of their regulators. Unfortunately, the Blitz can not have a regulator due to the need not to mess with the air stream back to the bolt. Its not the first fully automatic air gun, they had some I was looking at long before Hatsan came out with the Blitz. In fact a couple of them where battery operated. Other than a hefty trigger pull I love mine, a lot of fun to shoot. Now im thinking about another .50 cal and its between the Pile driver, the hammer and Texan?
@drsrussandpaula
@drsrussandpaula 3 жыл бұрын
Jason ... good to hear from you.... I recently bought a large bore in 45 caliber. three things to know... 45 caliber is a lot easier to find and cheaper to buy because the military used the 1911 45 cal pistol for years.... than 50 caliber or larger (ARE recently introduced a 72 Caliber) Secondly, any large bore will be used very little during the year... and then typically during the hunting season ... in states that have some limiting laws about using them. lastly, buy a large bore after Christmas and the hunting seasons.... they have lower prices then. I also have an Intruder by Hatsan that shoots very accurately with 25 caliber in semi auto mode. I can use it during the year from smaller critters and double tap a deer or wild boar during the fall...Dr. Russ

@@drsrussandpaula so I have the Seneca Dragon claw in .50 cal also fun gun to shoot but after some research it doesn’t have nearly the amount of muzzle energy as the Texan, pile driver or hammer in the same .50 class. In the state of Missouri you're air rifle has to be .40 cal and up so that’s the only one I have that I can legally take large game with in the state. I’m really leaning toward that that hammer, it’s available right now and it’s several hundred cheaper than the above competitors. I’m just making sure I’m not missing something before this purchase.
