Mike's nearing the last of the breed for sure. I'm a few years younger and it's hard to find people in their 20's that share the pride and love for the work these days. It's sad to see something I love so much get buried by technology, I'll teach any young kid how to drive for free just to keep the old trucks on the road. My elders did it for me, so I feel I have to return the favor. But every year it seems there's less kids that think it's cool. Makes me sad for the future after I'm gone. My daughter drove with me as a kid, eventually she went into nursing, but she still loves hopping in the large car when she can. Still has her CDL-A too!

Hey Mike, I do a lot of paving and milling work where I am at. The milling machines are impressive they can fill up 14 yard box on straight stretch of road in little over 2min flat. Plus the teeth in the machine can take off as much as 8 inches off the road. I was also suprised not to see any flags hanging off the side of the boom on the milling machine. Makes very easy to tell where the boom is so you don't get any millings on the road. Paving is fun too the truck is neutral and you let the paver push you as you are continually dumping mix into the paver. Always like you're content man. 🇨🇦

I unmothballed Heimlich as R model today. From being inside since November it didn't need much. A quick pressure wash,that was it. I brought it to my house in Burlington. Once it does stop raining,ill do some touch ups. And leave around 7am. She only does 60 so ill make a day out of it. And asphalt milling. You can keep it. We did it for awhile. With bad operators, I was always stuck in the branches of trees,ripping CB antennas off or worse.

O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸July brought us doing a 1200 mile road trip…PA, MD, WV, VA & back to OH. I’ve missed a lot. Having someone wanting to take pics of your truck is cool. Gonna show some of them? Hauling into a gravel pit is dustier than I ever imagined. I’ve picked up on some of the techniques you use, but you may need to explain some more to us. It sounds like you turn off your ac on your way in & turn it back on when leaving to keep the dust from building up on the engine. Maps…my boys know all about them & not only on GPS or Mapquest. It’s nice to have hard copy in your hands. Good polish job on those tanks. That can be a smelly job. Doing it in the garage is quite nice, too! How many times has the frame of that KW been painted over the years? It sure seems to be in rather good shape. My brother always tried to wash his truck at the end of the week so it would be ready for the next trip. Keep up the good work. That black Buick on the rollback was quite sweet! A license plate from 1915 was way cool! Blessings my friend. 😎🥰✌️

@daviddziegielewski653 Жыл бұрын
@@CoolHandMacc it's kind of a long list. Big asphalt jobs are chaotic, you never know what's going on. Asphalt tar on your clothes and everything else near it. Once you do other kinds of jobs like just hauling dirt, stone, dig outs there's easily ways of making money and you know how your day is going to go and end.
