I just started Far From the Tree and have already cried, it’s so wonderful and well-written. My favorite read of January was Warcross! I’m also trying to read more hyped books this year (last year’s goal was more backlist books, which was actually a great experience) and this list helped a ton! I had my goodreads open frantically searching and adding throughout. This video just made me so excited about life and reading and I haven’t felt that way in weeks :)

Also can I just say, you give me the courage to get up out of bed some days, I’ve just been having a really hard time mentally, and I don’t actually have anyone to talk to around me, and have always felt like I don’t deserve to complain about the problems I’m having because I know people who have gone through sooo much worse, so you just kinda help me and give me that little boost I need to crawl out of bed in the morning, even if it’s just to get coffee and then crawl right back in with a good book.

I adore your videos, Emma! And while I hate to be That Person, A Quiet Kind of Thunder is a British book (so it's set in Britain and the characters communicate in British Sign Language, not ASL). Just FYI. It is an absolutely phenomenal book. One of my all-time favourites with an female friendship and one of the most realistic teen relationship I have ever read.

Okay I am back today was a crappy day, so i'm so happy I had this to improve my night! Heretics anonymous sound great!! I hope you'll love Little Monsters, I really did. I should read up about the case it reminds me of. I'm going to try to use my library more and try to mix not so famous backlists with new releases, I feel you on the catching up part even if I am NOT nearly caught up xD Oh and I personally loved or really really liked Before I Let Go which had bipolar disorder rep, it shows the illness vs. identity debate nicely, it's a mystery/thriller, it's really dark and has asexual and pansexual rep!!

The only book I've read so far this year is The Shattered Gates by Ginn Hale, books 1-3 in the Rifter series. It was an utterly fantastic book with amazing characters and worldbuilding. Currently reading From Darkness to Darkness by Jay Bell, book 2 in his Loka Legends (duology? He might be writing more, I don't know), and absolutely loving it so far.
