4:10 that was clever! So much easier to line up than struggling with the loader for half an hour. You can tell the yard crew has done that a time or two and they're good at it. :) On this job you didn't drive the load on the trailer, but generally you get to run all the coolest toys with the loadouts! Although I'll be the first to admit that I'd be scared shitless of putting the first dent into $2m+ equipment! It doesn't help that with big toys even small dents are appropriately huge dents.

Hi Doug. Another great video. Just 52 minutes in. Those two cars that couldn't wait. Wouldn't mind so much, but they didn't get that far before they had to stop, twice, for lights🤣. In France and Germany, no trucks above 7.5 tons are allowed on the roads on Sundays except for fresh food produce or carrying animals

Because majority of trucks are long-distance, the truck-stops and all service stations along the motorways are absolutely stuffed with lorries by 5:00pm. One or two of the chaps I watch, if they know the area they're in, use on-street parking around the retail parks and use that for the night

Doug make sure grease come out on all 4, a driver drop driveshaft between two axle sheared all air brake hoses fittings got stuck in our country roads trying to limp it back to base ( AS IS ) lucky empty stock trailer, just spent $ 30k on upgrade on a nice beautiful Kenworth, i couldn't believe how bad cab was shaking when pulling him out in first gear, i offered to remove driveshaft myself he did not believe that it can drive back on highway speed but accepted, give him tips about braking and past test, my dad followed him to the bank got paid and driver was quite relieved. U joint bolts were severely hammered

Please explain in a future vid how the fuel pumps work because you pay for drivers side tank at the pump on the drivers side but you seem to pump for free for the passengers side. If you're filling both tanks in New Zealand you pay at both pumps independently. The pumps also produce the receipts.

Congratulations on getting your own rig. She's a beauty. Seems risky though. How do you make sure Bellemare keeps giving you loads versus giving them to a company driver? What if you have a major repair? Would Bellemare let you drive one of their trucks while yours was in the shop for an extended period, for an engine rebuild for example?

Whats the specs on your truck? What's the minimum specs you would recommend for hauling similar loads? I've got a 1998 international 9800 flat floor double bunk with a 500hp/1500tq M11 and a eaton fuller 7 speed (I drive like a heavy spec'd 5LL) 9.34 1st, 5.35 2nd and a 0.75 7th. Have 3.90 rears on airbags and am running a 43 inch 12R22.5 tire. It does 66 @ 1500rpm. Shes's had no issues pulling a 53 foot walking floor trailer fully loaded with wood chips and sawdust out of some primitive logging roads.

You can get the specs of this truck from the first video I posted with it (174 feet from Texas) 😉 I’m not sure how the low gear in your 7 speed compares to low gear in the 18 speed. Pulling isn’t the problem, it’s just to get rolling from a stop especially on any kind of incline that I wouldn’t want any less than what I’m running in this truck.

In the past 19 years, I've delivered - on a part-time basis - about 370,000 miles worth of trucks, busses, tractor-trailers, concrete pumpers, cement-mixers, refuse trucks, mobile-cranes (with and without boom-dollies) all across the continent.

Hey if you’d clean that windshield we’d be able to see a little better. Road grim and dirt smears. Also, who’s measuring the heights on these loads? I might help newbees seeing how you’ve obtained the height… Dallas, Tx

Who measures the height of the actual load of who determines the permit height? The driver is always 100% responsible to know the height of his load

I’ve not see you with a measuring pole is why I ask. I’m a HAZMAT fuel hauler in TEXAS and don’t need to concern myself with such, only routes, weight & placarding

@HughByrom I don’t mind the questions. If you don’t ask you don’t know! But yes the driver is 100% responsible to know his/her height, width and length as well as axle weights. All are precisely stated on our permits and used to determine our routes to avoid low bridges etc…
