HI JIM & BRENDA. - HORSES ALWAYS KNOW WHEN THEY ARE HEADING "HOME"! I had to chuckle after your delivery to Abby's house & got back on the road, Earl & Baron's gait picked up CONSIDERABLY & they even cantered/loped for a bit. When you've been around horses for awhile, you can really HEAR their cadence without even having to see them moving, literally! The Suffolks' are really making a nice team, no matter who is in the traces!! I really enjoy watching all your horses at work. Thank you for sharing & God bless..❤😊❤😊

Full day's work for Baron and Earl. Easy work, lots of waiting about. Jim, that is what we call a cattle crush, unless we are getting so correct we are not to crush cattle. Very nice video, the longer the better for me. Thank you both for this channel, for sharing your horses and your daily lives. Greetings from Australia.

Nice job on the head chute, I would suggest putting some slats cross ways on the floor 8-10 inches apart , that wood floor will be extremely slippery when it gets wet.

Since we didn't hear a word about her for so long I thought she might be in someone's freezer!! 😅 Skippy is living the best life any dog could. It's a pleasure to see. I hope you take us along on Pansy's pregnancy test. Wonderful video. Thanks.❤

Jim,a family with a very small farm with cows needed a headlock nonetheless. The wife found one on Craigslist . Constructed wood frame and set posts in ground. I want to thank Brenda as we have received our 2025 calendar. Very nice.Our 2nd year. Perhaps by this weekend you will have a dusting of snow. Happy Thanksgiving to all !! We have also been keen fans of Abby 2 year project that is coming to an end. Perhaps she can expand into an outdoor spring and summer project. Big thanks to Jay.😊

Good thinking about the head gate chute. Get the cattle use to going back and forth, then when you need to catch , just business as usual. In my experience, anything different than the normal and cattle realize that something is up.

I have a couple of questions. How long do the round bales of hay keep? Plastic wrapped vs. Standard wrapped. And what do you do with the bales that go sour? Keep up the good work. Peace ✌️
@neoncatfish4038
@neoncatfish4038 5 сағат бұрын
I'm not Jim! But I can tell you they're both two different ways! The bales that are wrapped in plastic, are bailed when the matter that is used is green! The other bales are completely dried before they're bailed! The dried bales I have seen them last 2 years! And the middle is still be perfectly good! But I think it's according in what type of bales they are! They shed water really well! He had hay grazer and peanut bales! One year we bale 500 hay grazer bales. Rip Bro. Hope this helps you!

Wrapped bales are silage, sealed, disgusting but cattle love it. Dry hay all gets fed out, rougher stuff also goes to cattle. Horses get the best of Jim's hay.

Round bales. You can also make small (horse) bales, and huge square bales. The small bales are often called "horse bales", because hay can be measured out in "flakes", which some people feed in nets.

@stuglenn1112

I have never called or heard them called anything but round bales. If they're square we call them square bales and usually further distinguish them as two or three string square bales. I know that in some parts of the country they make huge square bales but I've never seen them around my part of Florida or when I was in Texas. We further distinguish hay as horse hay or cow hay. Remember a lot of the terms used in this stuff is very local and not universal across the whole country. In some parts of the country if you call a Horse a Horse it means to the local it's a gelded male.
