The original is one of my all time favourites. Idk it's just the simplicity of it and it taking place in nature, also the early 2000s vibes are through the roof. I remember watching it for the first time when I was like 11 and probably the nostalgia factor is also why it's so dear to me. The reboot is also great and I'm so glad I got to see it in the cinema. I like that it's a fresh take and really enjoyed the new characters.

I prefer the original more. Part 2 is my favourite of the series. The remake didn't do it for me but I do like the last scene a lot.

You know me, I love the remake cause I just loved how different it is from that messy franchise, it can even be a psychological h0rror. They did not have rights to make the villain that FINE on the remake lmaooo, another fun fact is that the director got inspired to create the foundation cause of “the 100” series that came out 2014-2017 . Omg you’re so right with the stepmom ! I would actually have preferred if the ending was after the chaos at the house. ( insert Kim Kardashian meme : it’s what she deserves) alsooo , I absolutely blame the pand*emic, cause otherwise I think this film would have made bigger numbers ( like evil dead rise at least maybe )

I have a soft spot for the original. I mean I love Eliza Dushku and Desmond Harrington. But god that Reboot was well done and it didn’t feel like 2 hours. The performances in both were great. Heck honestly I love them both but the reboot I feel was a bit better for me.

Just popping in, in case anyone is curious to read a book that is similar to Wrong Turn - I highly suggest Camp Slasher by Dan Padavona. If you want cannibals and people getting murdered left and right in a forest in summer, a great slasher. Great video as always Kylie, thanks!

Ah, see, I don't think I can choose because the vibes are so different. I will say the original made me realize I do have a fear of hillbilly cannibals because thats the only nightmare I've ever had as an adult because of a horror movie. Also, Eliza Dushku is just amazing and she was one of my crushes for a long time, so it kinda has an edge to the remake there lol The new one has such a different vibe and I love everything about it. I love how I went in expecting a slasher, but I got something smart and a bit more insightful. Something that's second half gave me the same vibes as The Witch or Gretal and Hansel. Just that folklore-y vibe, if that makes sense. ALSO...so glad I was not the only person to find the lead cult dude hot because I thought something was wrong with me, haha. Something may be wrong with us both, but I digress🤣

My favorite thing you said in this video (aside from the political stuff which is true) is that the original Wrong Turn feels like a remake when it's not. I remember having that same thought way back when I first saw it. It also reminds me of the '70's slasher Just Before Dawn. I have the special edition DVD from the early 2000's. Not my favorite but I need to rewatch it sometime. And I loved how this is a throwback to your older work!

Hello Kylie, Good to see you again. Your video about Wrong Turn. Sounds good. I saw the first Wrong Turn. When it was released on DVD and VHS. I rented it from Hollywood Video. It was a good movie. The remake was good. The sequels were good. I like the first one best. I like the remake. I do like the franchise. This is the one time. The original movie. A long with the reboot. We have the human monster. The pandemic made it hard for some movies. Kylie you sound like a true fan. Love your videos. This is a good one. Spooky stuff. 😊🎥

Even though I liked the remake, the og is still the better one, it is "perfectly" done and entertaining. I loved the characters of Chris, Jess, Carly and Scott. I loved the story in the remake but I feel the execution could've been better and I hope the ending was just a dream and Jen is just suffering survivors guilt.

I like the reboot but definitely prefer the original. I don’t know if it’s because I watched it when I was a child or because it’s genuinely better-made but the original just feels so hardcore. It would make an interesting video to contrast the original with the cheesy, campy sequels. The Wrong Turn franchise is a guilty pleasure for me but I wish the sequels took themselves seriously and kept the same atmosphere as the first one. Your points about the reboot’s themes being out of whack were spot-on 💯 It reminds me of when enlightened centrists pull the “both sides” argument and try to compare people on the far left who just want everyone to have healthcare to people on the far right shooting up black grocery stores.

What did both films teach me? Trust my instincts. I really liked the scene in the reboot where they walked into the bar. Obviously all them are uncomfortable but the white dude doesn’t seem to understand why everyone else might just want to stay quiet. I wish the film was cut down a bit. Certain themes would have been better suited if one of the guys in town wasn’t a Appalachian stereotype. I still prefer the original though.

wrong turn 2021 is a good movie is some of the acting a but spotty here and there sure but it has a decent lead and i love the cult angle . it actually has something to say which is more then most horror movies. wrong turn 2003 is a bad movie just a lazy mix between the hills have eyes and texas chainsaw massacare but it has some decent gore and the leads are actually really likeable so i enjoy it for that.

As someone with Asperger’s, the idea of someone like Ron DeSantis being in the White House scares the shit out of me, so seeing those kind of assholes portrayed in a sympathetic or redeemable way just rubs me the wrong way. I might give this newer Wrong Turn a look-see though. For what it’s worth, you got me interested in giving it a chance.
