By play around you mean set to the lowest number possible. Bokeh does not come from an artistic perspective but a frantic need to get as much light as possible for a fast shutter speed in low light conditions.
@eeramzi5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video, I think the reason that you have less boka is that using this wide lens is effectively changing the focal length, in your case 24mm X 0.43= 10.34mm. since the boka is controlled by the changing the FStops (Aperture) and the Fstop is function of focal length, your maximum Fstop is reduced by also x0.43. Makes me wonder is that's why I can't find cheap fast wide lens. For me it's not a big deal, because I might use this wide lens for landscape with small aparture to get everything InFocus. Thanks.

@itsHec2 жыл бұрын
its a shame that they use different size filters. Theoretically this would reduce the 50mm to 21.5mm which sounds very usable for up close. Im guessing on an APS-C it would be 30mm which is less than his current effective focal length on that 24mm without the adapter. i wonder how insane the bokeh would be with this setup. They are "cheap" but having to buy one for every lens is def a bummer.

Hi Haurjie, thanks for providing this info and your experience with this attachment. I’m watching your video in late August 2020 and was curious to know if you ever solved your problem. I’m using that canon 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 but it does not produce the bokeh effect we all desire. I’m switching from a crop sensor canon to full frame canon soon and will be slapping the 24mm on it. This combo should give me more FOV than it does on the crop sensor camera. I may add this Altura attachment to it and that was the reason for watching your video.

@@hardlinenexus did you decide on anything? I know this is 3y old but I have the same camera and am trying to decide between the 24mm f2.4 and the 10-18mm f4.5-5.6. TBH the 4.5-5.6 scares me a lot since most of my photography is in medium to low light. With our cameras (APS-C) the 24mm is actually aprox 38mm and with the altura adapter would be equivalent to vaguely 16mm which sounds sexy af. I dont mind the blurred edges nor the vignette. The 10-18mm is almost double the price of the 24mm and based on other videos seems like your target has to be extremely close to the lens to generate good bokeh and distortion. I think this combo in your video provides more value than the 10-18mm.......... right? 🤣 Clearly I am on a budget but Thank you for this video, it was very helpful.

Hi! Helpful video in my search for an affordable wide angle converter that doesn’t clog up the corners of the image. You may be able to reduce the ‘curves’ at the edge of your image in your video editing software. Most programs have a ‘fish eye’ function to give any pic or clip a fisheye look that will also work in reverse; so reduce fish eye look. You will ger more background blurr (bokeh) when shooting on lower f stop values. ‘Wide open’ is best for shallow depth of field.
