For years I've had an idea similar to this using a small simplified reaper character I made named Grim E. Meurto (called Grim-e by the other characters). It makes me very happy seeing something similar to what I had in mind come to fruition by a company with far more talent than I.

This is probably not Switch gameplay. The game still does seem to run 60fps on Switch with little hiccups other than longish loading times and some buffer at the start of a level.

I remember seeing this when it was first introduced at the TGA last year I think? Maybe late 2021? (I was specifically hoping for Silksong news then, but this was still nice to see. Best thing I saw there.) I planned to get it on steam as soon as possible, but I haven't been able to, but once I can I'll definitely play this through! Seems fun.

DO NOT BUY. I have searched all over the internet and I cannot find any coverage on this. On the switch, this game has to be the buggiest I have ever played BY FAR. Even after the recent patch, frame rate issues, long loading screens and crashes. At least a few times per hour the game will just generally not work. I just uninstalled after about 50 hours of gameplay. The straw that broke the camels back was getting particularly far on a run, about 50 min in, the game somehow doesn’t trigger a flag allowing me to progress past an arena after defeating all of the enemies effectively soft locking me and forcing me to restart. This has happened a few times and finally had enough.

It looks incredible and the nervous gameplay is very appealing but it's a shame that so many dev's don't make good level design anymore because of the rogue lite formula. And I really don't like rogue lite formula, so I'll pass :'(
