In a way i think City winning the domestic treble is more difficult than the CL treble. No team from the premier league or the old Division 1 has ever dominated the domestic trophies like City did. If you think of all the great teams like Leeds in the early and mid '70s, the great Liverpool team of the '70s and '80s, Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest in the late '70s and early '80s, Manchester United's teams under Alex Ferguson, Chelsea under Jose, none of them could win all the major domestic trophies and to throw in the Community Shield for good measure. What an incredible achievement, and the way they played such attacking football. Then they went on and won the CL treble and European Supercup. Not forgetting when they reached 100 points and scored over 100 goals. They only lost 2 games that season and won 32, which is another incredible achievement.

City's treble was far better and superior. Not only did City win the treble, they completed a three-peat, and had made two UCL finals and a UCL semis in that three-year span. The best part of the treble also involved beating United in the FA Cup final, where they had the chance to stop City from making that record but failed to stop them. City were crazily dominant and consistent for three straight seasons too, and have continued with that form. Remember that City has also added the UEFA Super Cup. This City team, looking at the amount of wins, points accumulated and all, you just have to admit they were/are better.

Football in England was mainly long balls and lots of loss of possession with little to no long passing sequences ( except a little from Man u). However in Spain the opposite was dominant.The Man city style of football was always around in Spain and south America, but England (even today) does not embrace this style of play. I think in the now, City is top. internationally, alot of united fans did not experience the treble win. I was very young much like alot of current EPL fans. This generation witnessed City win it and in stunning fashion, not forgetting all the records we broke over the years. aslo the pain we have had in Europe and we were told we would never win Ol big ears. it is just delicious. KDB gave me PTSD . it was an emotionally and mentally draining season and i drank so much when we completed the treble that my pancreas took issue with me and had me bed ridden for a solid week. I have no regrets. this is legacy

As a blue I well remember the Utd performance against Juventus away from home. One of the greatest comebacks ever against a very good side. I really don't think you can split them. The treble is the treble. Full stop. Equally great achievements in my book. Both sides had tough champions League opponents and a tough adversary in the PL. It's not even close, for the last 3+ years everyone has known City is the best team in Europe, no one is surprised they finally won it which is precisely why it was hilarious to say City still don't have a CL trophy. If they never seemed like contenders it wouldn't make sense as a put down, but every time City went out it was an upset. No one thought United would challenge for that CL trophy, everyone knew Bayern were a better team... and outside some extra time chaos the best team would have won it. For 90 mins United were completely out played, and if you look at the tactical dimension of those SAF teams it is not hard to understand why Europe said the country was far behind the best coaches on the continent... City has made people respect the league, the best in the world fear the best the Premier League have to offer. No one feared that United team.

Great analysis. My biased opinion is City's treble was better. Beating United at Wembley again really clinches it for me and the way how we did it. We broke a record for the fastest goal in the competition. I think you have to give it to City. In the last 6 years they have won the Premier League 5 times. In Pep's second season at City they won the league cup and premier league with 100 points and over 100 goals, and they won 32 games and only lost 2 all season. The next season they done what no team had done before or have done since and win every domestic trophy. That is such a difficult thing to achieve when you think of all the great teams that have graced the premier league or the old division 1 and yet they couldn't do what City done. Last season City done the CL treble, which is another great achievement and the way they dominated europe's big teams like Bayern Munich and the holders Real Madrid. Since Pep's tenure at City they have 5 Premier League Titles out of the last 6 and 3 in a row. 4 League Cups. 2 FA Cups. 1 Champions League. 1 European Supercup. 💯 points in a season. 2 trebles, domestic and Cl treble. The way City have played while winning these trophies and breaking all kinds of records has been sublime. It's been a pleasure watching them the way they've gone about breaking records and winning all these trophies.

Man City's Treble is better because of the huge dominance in the football game that we produced. We didn't have to be on our heels on almost every game asking the question if we will win or not.
