This family works on such a massive scale because Sue and Noel really do value their children and treat them as equals. Very sweet family.

Everyone is unique though. Treating them as equals by ignoring individual needs does not work. It may be the quiet life in buying stuff for them and giving in, but it doesn’t work I’m afraid.

@@jg2060 What is your issue with how they raise their kids?

I did like that they asked what each child would want in their future house to please everyone. Such as own rooms for the oldest and play/ sound proof room for the kids who know they make a lot of noise.

The time the renovation will take for the barn home 4000 square foot, and the money will be huge. Also, the bigger the yard the more time it takes to mow the grass. You need a new home that is already built for the family. Your home now is awesome. Newer is not always better.

Sorry, I live in the USA 🇺🇸 and we have wide open spaces. I have been looking at renovations in France of homes, and they take their toll emotionally. I hope that did not come across negatively. Of course if they renovate there will be plenty of show content.

Here's food for thought though…a few years ago we owned an apartment in an old mansion house. bought it for £52K. Lived there for 3 years and then put it up for sale. The estate agent valued it at £65K. We put it on the market for £97K. The first person that viewed it bought it for the asking price. I can't explain it but we felt it was worth much more than the price given by the estate agent. We were prepared to be knocked down in price and couldn't believe it when we were offered the asking price. Remember they give you a 'guideline' that's not set in stone.

If someone wants to move then you have to cut back on holidays and new cars. Same for anyone thinking about their future. Thinking how much you can realise from the sale of property and business but also accepting that you still have to live. Accepting that one cannot always afford what you ideally want is difficult. Happens to everyone at some point.

Do you really want the stress of kids and windows not arriving when they should or nails going up in price from last year? The build taking longer than planned to be done because of xxxx. What if in the middle of it all one of you develops cancer or has a mild stroke how do you mentally cope with piles of kids and a build and work?? Update.. my cousin just told me her friends husband was 43 and she arrived home last week and found him in bed dead. He had a heart attack. Very healthy builder. I suppose its a case as what is more marketable, finding someone that needs a big family house could delay things, but someone might buy their house to turn it into flats, but I would definitely get several valuations, I was guessing nearer the £650-£700k mark.

Alpacas spit and can be quite dangerous. They can break a humans neck by swinging their long necks suddenly against your head. Plz do your research. You can keep chickens for eggs here too and have a vegie garden as well. You've got the labour force! That's what we did with our 9.

“ You’ve got to have vision haven’t you?” Says Sue , whilst looking at a derelict barn. A romantic notion of uprooting lots of teenagers to the country makes me nervous.
