Just got my first 3D printer in November and your channel has been super helpful for advice on finishing techniques and products! Keep the videos coming and I'll keep watching!

Thanks for coming out with an alternative, I was getting the Bondo for 5.99 at one point at my local Ace Hardware… All good things must come to an end!

What a bummer, I started using Bondo's products based solely on your videos, they work so well. But times change, and Im sure you will help us find a good replacement. Thanks for the info, and all that you do!

"WHYYYYY!?" xD Seymours is absolutely incredible, I cannot get over it, dry time is incredible, but definitely like Upol for sanding.
@Darkwingdad9 ай бұрын
It’ll be interesting to see if we can get others to try a few brands they haven’t heard. Seymour dry time is like bondo, can’t beat solvent based.
@michiganmandos9 ай бұрын
@@Darkwingdad very curious what the results will be. Can't beat their pbe trim paint flat black too, dry time is like 15 minutes

I use the bondo paste tube. Mix it with nailpolish remover (the %100 acetone kind) and BRUSH it on.
@Darkwingdad9 ай бұрын
Great option but a filler primer or sandable primer is still required to fill in sanding scratches etc that come from sanding down puttys

Sad about the Bondo, but I look forward to seeing the new tests.

I was looking for some since you mentioned it but I could NEVER find any at all here in the Detroit area.

Yea it was an issue for many. Sucks because I feel that’s a huge problem why it wasn’t purchased which led to its downfall.

I'm kind of surprised that one of these companies has not jumped on the 3D printing bandwagon and released a line of 3D print-specific products. I know that the bulk of their sales most likely come from the automotive industries, but re-labeling some of their products into a 3D print line seems like it would be beneficial for them. It likely would not even be a new product, but rather a re-label of an existing line, marketed directly at the 3D print industry. I know that some companies have done the same for adhesives. There's a brand of print surface spray adhesive that is basically way overpriced hairspray.

Right? Look at xtc resin. Literally the same stuff sold at hobby lobby is $9.99 & the bottle is 6 oz bigger, they are selling it for $30! Lol we might have just stumbled upon a million doller idea. You in?? Lol

I’m pretty sure most of bondo filler primer’s profits were coming from the 3D printing community 😂, very sad to see it go though. I’m about to buy their remaining entire stock now. Hopefully they post online how they make bondo so we can replicate it

This sucks. But, it isn't a huge issue for me since it was always hard to get up here in New Hampshire. I've pretty much been using either Duplicolor or (now) Upol for all my projects anyway. I must confess, in the beginning, I did use rustoleum. But then the sky opened and a hand extended out to take me and show me the light. Lol. Oh, and BTW, the Jared part made me laugh quite a bit. I wasn't ready for it. 😂
@Darkwingdad9 ай бұрын
I honestly don’t know how people use rusto, it’s like pulling your own teeth. Lol I always try to throw a curve ball sometimes
@603VIL9 ай бұрын
@Darkwingdad lol. I think pulling one's own teeth is more honorable, though. 😅
@shaunjedi9 ай бұрын
I'll be honest, since Bondo is really expensive from where i am (Malaysia) i decided to use the Resin liquid method (coasting the print in resin, dry it in the Sun a isopropoyl wash) and it has helped. So maybe that can be an alternative for those using bondo. just a thought!
@Darkwingdad9 ай бұрын
Not a fan, regardless you still need a filler or sandable primer after you’ve sanded resin or putty
@dc1n10019 ай бұрын
Resin is very toxic and is not supposed to be used for filling stuff. The liquid state is bad enough and now people sand it and turn them into little dust that can badly harm your lungs.Pls use car putty or wood filler instead.
@ShadowStepGG9 ай бұрын
Rustoleum has a Filler-Primer as well, don’t know if you’ve done any reviews on it yet.
