A girl best friend will never risk her guy best friend potentially having a fight with his wife, over the girl best friend. Because a girl will understand how another girl might feel, and also understand where the limits of the guy best friend's wife is at.

She chats with my boyfriend & gradually divorce her husband, caused conflicts between us & told her gf that she can break us up. Eventually my bf left & they are together now. I am grateful to her bcos without her interference, I wouldn’t have known if my bf was truly committed in our relationship. I truly believe a good person draws the goodness from what is stored in the heart-good deeds & behaviours & if one have respect for others one will not commit adultery/betrayal. So check the heart.

I actually think Jon Paul has a point in many things, despite not being in a relationship (or however it is portrayed). Fyi I can resonate with Jon Chua’s personality the most ie high empathy and consideration. Perhaps it’s experience overtime, I agree with how Jon Paul thinks-think he places his bet on lowest risk. Ie. best friend or not he chooses to err on the safe side by not entertaining (and that says a lot about his priorities - pretty nice for a single man, speaking from an attached female). It’s actually REALLY OK to tell your friends your partner isn’t ok with it (if they’re authentic friends, they would be understanding, especially in the context of 5am help call). So in the scenario provided: First, if you’re still leading a life where you need someone to send you home > that’s something one has to reflect upon themselves. Two, when you ask a friend to pick you up, are you being considerate - regardless of whether that person is attached or not. At the end of the day, prioritise your actions based on what you are willing to absorb the sacrificial for. Having said that, to each his own and whatever works best!

Bulk of the conversation revolves around the circumstance of the incident, but I think the more important thing is the dynamics between the 2 friends. No one size fits all. It depends on what sort of assurance your gf needs too. My ex was someone who was always fighting with me for any girl that I go out with, let alone a female best friend. Looking back, I felt like the issue is not (just) her. It was also because I invalidated her concerns. Along with all the other stuff that were happening in the rs, this was just part of the entire story of the downfall. Fast forward to my current gf, she trusts me a lot and doesn’t even question who I go out with. Stark difference with the first, but I also feel like it was because the foundations of our relationship was very solid. So what I’m trying to say is that it’s not who that girl best friend is, but more of what type of relationship you have with your partner, and the dynamics with that best friend.

Daniel’s suggestion is good. However if not then let your wife/gf knows by showing her the text & if she agrees, then both go to fetch her. But in my opinion, one shouldn’t call your best friend of the opposite sex to avoid unnecessary trouble
@piggydives Жыл бұрын
Well, I purposely ignored calls and text from an ex-collegue who had an affection for me, to avoid her developing the idea that I am interested in her romantically. Last met her at a colleagues wedding, she was the bridesmaid and I was the grooms helper....she tried to reconnect up again after the wedding. Though I sensed something weird about her behaviour, I tried to brush it off. A few week later, she jumped....heard the news from the newly wedded, and that she had not gotten over the infatuation with me. that news still haunt me today...although it is nearly 20 years since.....

for the first question, it should be established that what you do for other people are things you dont mind other people doing for your partner as well and vice versa. eg, if my partner feels comfortable to pick up his girl bestfriend at 5am then he shouldnt have an issue if i were in the same situation and asked my guy best friend for help.

I personally believe that it’s not possible for 2 people of the opposite sex to be platonic best friends. I was very good friends with a guy for many years and we dated other people previously. But we ended up sleeping with each other and becoming FWBs. Unfortunately I had feelings for him but he didn’t reciprocate it to the same extent. I ended our friendship and found a much better partner now ❤️

Answer for the first Question: If you have a female best friend just say, WTF bro what time is it, I cant send you back and I am lazy, if she is your best friend its easy to reject. unless you are thinking for having other thoughts.

If you're only friends with your friends because of their genitals, and/or you believe a guy and a girl can't just be friends because of what's at their groin area, you have a very weird perception of the world. Here's my take, it depends on why you're friends. It's the same as why I am friends with the dudes. I like having friends with similar interests and similar work etiquette. Doesn't matter if it's a guy or girl. What I notice is that a lot of people only make friends with people of the opposite sex based on attractiveness. If you're friends for that reason, then yeah, there's a huge risk.

21:51 alamak jon bro XD why u pick ur ears on camera. hahahah. (I laugh because it is relatable) anw to answer the question - you simply don't start new potential romantic relationships once you already are in a committed relationship. there are plenty of people in the world - you won't lose anything from passing over that one person's friendship. it sucks, but why tempt fate? if you already have a best friend, then that's fine lah. I think it's a bit rabak to break up with your older friend just because you're in a committed relationship. however, I do think it's possible to have a platonic friendship with a person of the opposite sex. the formula is: there must be something that repulses you about that person, e.g. a dealbreaker.

what you say is tue, but that being said, there also must be a line drawn for both parties that they will only remain nothing more than just friends. If there isn't a line drawn by both parties, the friendship won't work as well.

My rule have always been dont treat ppl how u dont like to be treated. So if i dont like my partner sending a fren bck at wee hrs i will not accept such request n somehow make it clear to frens who might end up on such situation through their lifestyle observation. For me, I feel like i did try to avoid doing things that makes my partner unhappy or uncomfortable. For e.g i realise he can be quite sensitive n protective. I will try not to be too close w opp gender unless its trustable that there is nth possible n tat i have drawn the line clear. Therefore trying to make more frens of same gender. Although my love language is touch, i will try not to be too touchy to ppl around. To be honest i melt in my partner's arm the first time i was hugged. Tat was when we were just frens. Though it felt diff, smth i have not felt bef. I did had some rare fren hugs previously. I am just weary. I dont want to have second thoughts or risk to be in a doubtful wanna change partner cuz i found a better opt kind of person. So i will choose to avoid in trying to safe guard temptations n avoid conflict. I thinks its a pretty win win situation. Like i dont think u will loss a fren just cuz u r not a touchy fren right? Choose ur pirority. If tis person will b ur gd fren, he/she should accept ur piority. If the person leaves becuz not enough attention is given as u have a partner n all. Tat is just a wrong fren i feel. I uds that we should put in some commitment if we want to be closer w a particular person. But boundaries have to be set. Ur piority should still be on your partner. rmb to provide constant assurance. Sometimes it might be better tat way than having to do it after an arguement.
30:25 Yes, why is it not this. Normal women don't think about getting into your pants and wrecking your relationship. 🤦🏻♀️ 30:56 Eh some of us nowadays don't see the light of day in our jobs. What if your bf is super unavailable and busy at work. How to hang out more? 31:08 But yes, I agree if suggestive words or photos are exchanged then it's a big red flag. It's not ok to have any physical contact at all lah! Hug also no. Women not so weak until NEED hugs la ok. Grow some boobs. Cry got tissue ok. Can buy tissue for them.

The whole point of morality is that it cannot be "studied" and everyone has different values, no? Personally I feel getting some kind of religious figure to provide input may make the conversation less productive as they follow a specific "rulebook" that was taught to them
