Wow, just found your channell and I'm blown away. I started learning electric guitar 4 years ago, learned open chords, barre chords, 5 positions of caged and for the life of me could never figure out lead. Could never picture the fretboard although learned notes. Lead is alien to me. Could never understand how guitarists flow up and down the neck knowing where they are and on what notes. Your channel is really helping me understand better than any other. I'm grateful for your knowledge. 👍. Many thanks. We are lucky.

Advanced beginner here. I'm totally stumped on this. I've searched the net and can't find an answer. Lots of research and no luck. Is it a technique? Does it even have a name? Rusty, I've watch you play in many lessons and you do it effortlessly. So when you speed up playing you still get a little bend on maybe 3 notes in a row or more. But its so fast and its not a simple note. Its a note with a nudge? Almost like you are slightly bending it. A Baby bend? And when playing a run of notes you do it alot. To me this is Phrasing at its best. When I watch you, its so fast and suttle its hard to tell what your doing exactly. Does it have a name? I tried slowing down the video and can see it. Just don't know what its called. Its not a bend and not vibrato. Thanks for letting me ask a long question here. Lee
@rustysguitar1 Жыл бұрын
Hey Lee, I’m always messing with that blue note sound. It’s usually the note right below the root note. I hit the note and quickly tweak it a little bit and then back down a whole step back to the right note. I’m going to have to look and dissect it a little more. Other players are probably thinking the same thing. Thanks so much for checking out my videos and have an awesome weekend.👍

Can I ask you 2 question? I do 😅. I have learned all 5 Position in the A Pentatonik. You and other teachers used only or most the 1 Position. Why. And is the blue Note always a fixed Note on the fret Board or can I use every other Note out the Pentatonik? I know stupid question and sorry for my Bad English 🙏🙏 Simply where are the blue notes!??? Is it a fixed rule???
@rustysguitar1 Жыл бұрын
I have done a few lessons with all five positions, but I will definitely do more in the near future. The blue note is a fixed note in the minor and major pentatonic scale. You can use other chromatic notes, but they won’t be the blue note. For the A minor pentatonic, it’s always the E flat note. Always in between the D and the E notes. Definitely more lessons to break this down in the future. You are definitely practicing the right things. Great question and let’s talk soon.👍

Me: "If a writer didn't bother to learn the alphabet and just wRoTe WhAt He FeEls, there'd just be a bunch of random nonsense on the page."
