OMG Pat, Sunday I found 2 of your older books. I found a box that was unpacked and there they were. First one, Applique a Garden, 2010 and the second one, New Ideas for Applique, 2012. How weird you would ask us today. I am happy I found them as I want to learn how to applique. Thank you for writing them.

When making Scrappy HST project, I make the HST first randomly pairing squares. I make around 10 to 20 extra HST so I had extras for easy variety in placement. Extra HST will be used for a pillow cover or table runners to bring the colors around the room. Makes these second projects quick to whip together!

Aside from being terribly enabled by YOU, I've picked up a book called Anthology. It's a book showing 182 quilt blocks (4 1/2 x 5 1/2 with which to make a quilt. What a wonderful breather between Home is, Sewcialites, Gramma's Kitchen, etc. Thanks as usual Pat. I still think you've cloned yourself in order to get all the stuff done that you do! Hugs from south central Canada.

I like how you auditioned the pieces...it really makes the process easier. First step is NOT to over agonize over color/pattern!

Love how you give tips about your methods, even on simple things. I pick up new ways of process from you all of the time, even though I’ve been quilting over 40 years❤️😁

Today we are traveling to the Dr for my honey. The best part of the day will be stopping at a quilt shop. Also I'm mailing some pillowcases to a cancer patient. Have a great day.

Thank you for your info on scrappy placement. ‘Randomness’ definitely causes overthinking for me! Lol.

Pat, you should look at EvaPaige Quilt Designs. Beth has a system of sewing HST in an accordion to create never duplicated scrappy HSTs. Its really fun! It's how I'm making my heart.

I love looking at new books. Beside your books I love Kim Dehl. I adapted one of her wall hanging patterns to be round to be on my round table. I made your first large quilt and love it.

@@FredaM Freda, when it's this darned cold, a couple of degrees doesn't make a whole lot of difference. I didn't even see the squirrels or rabbits out today. Poor critters.

How can I choose just 1 book?! I love them all! I just splurged on Quiltfolk Life vol. 1 - beautiful photos, great inspiration. But now you’re making me think I need to buy Wendy’s book and all of yours. . .

I am thinking of making the larger heart in Caribbean blue and purples. This will go up on a cream wall. Should I consider a solid color for the background instead of a white or cream?

I LOVE the background fabric you’re using for your heart. Was that a random purchase or do you keep certain solid colors on hand all of the time?
