Mayim Bialik is awesome. She is highly intelligent and successful but is down to earth. She is not afraid to talk about the thing she struggles with, that a lot of people struggle with.

"Down to earth" ? No. She's an actor. She's acting like she's "down to earth" but clearly you have not met her in real life. She's an arrogant, self-obsessed, greedy snob.

@Miss_USS_Liberty what "help" are you talking about? If you are trying to downplay or invalidate someones growth that is just itchy with a capital B. You aren't any less amazing because you have help. No matter your station in life. Being someone who continues to grow and learn with the time they have is an awesome trait no matter how much education you have or money. People still can choose not to grow and learn if they have money. People can choose to grow and learn if they are poor. If that is what you are saying.. you should learn to grow and learn as a person and choose not to tear others down for their accomplishments.

It's tough being introverted, receiving dirty looks from people all the time and being insecure about ones self. I get judged and I judge my own self. Worst of all I don't always have a trusted friend to talk to. I can relate to what you're saying. Thank you for sharing.

I've struggled with codependency as a result of childhood trauma and have been going through this process of learning to love myself. Everything you said in this video made me smile because it made me feel like I'm not alone in my struggles, (I know you didn't share that you're codependent and I don't assume you are, I'm just struggling with those same mental and emotional patterns). Thank you for speaking on your emotions in such a human level, I appreciate that about you. I'm a sensitive empath and I crave deep relationships with people and don't always seem to line up with like-minded individuals, so I can often feel like I'm "too much" for people. I'm rambling, anyway, thank you!!

You’re not only smart, beautiful, and funny, you’re also down to earth and you don’t think you’re above anyone else because you’re famous. You’re real, open, and honest and I think that’s what draws people towards you. I have a female friend that I call “my sister” because of our close plutonic bond. First, the things you described as annoying are actually quite endearing. I think we all love you for what you believe is 'annoying'. I am glad that having a roommate has helped you have a corrective experience! Hearing you describe your relationship with your brother and how you are still a sensitive little girl who wants to be included in her big brother's life, so adorable! You are a highly educated, highly intelligent, extremely considerate and caring person. if anyone finds that annoying, they need to do some soul searching for what truly matters in life.

I totally get you and Jeff. As an extroverted introvert, I love people and meeting and socializing but in small doses. I crave alone time, silence (I don't even listen too much music, unless I want to specifically wake myself or hype me up to go 'outside'), peace to organize my thoughts. Also if I mingle, I want depth, meaning, intimacy (I don't care for chatter, gossip etc I want to know what makes you passionate or mad...) I'm glad you are healing and discovering that you can be you and alone time does not mean you are set aside. Thanks for sharing this.

Sorry that I've only just come across this video. The things that you stated in the start of this video, make you who you are. Being outspoken and 'Too caring' makes you, who you are. I tried to fit in when I was younger to the fashion, trying not to get bullied. Life has taught me that being the geek I am, is awesome and now 'being an adult' I'm not going to get bullied anymore. TBBT showed the world that 'WE' rock. Be who you are, because you're awesome that way!

Mayim thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences that are rooted in insecurities, your reflections are reassuring and helped me to connect with some of the same organizational beliefs I have about myself. I have found myself trying to take up less space/ be all kinds of less with my neighbors and as you point it, that kind of behavior prevents others from getting to know us and prevents us from having those organizational beilefs challenged by people who really do care and want to connect with us. Thank you!

One of the most often ignored or forgotten parts of a "relationship" is actually relating to the other person. Without the sex, etc. As a society, we seem to be trained to think that actually conversation, sharing of thoughts, ideas, etc. is not part of the process. Congratulations on your discoveries, your evolution and, :), your room mate. Thanks for sharing your journey.

Hey, Mayim! Yeeeeeah. I’m there with you. My brother told me the same thing...and I worshiped my brother...who still thinks I’m an idiot...and has no problem whatsoever telling me so (he prefers the phrase “emotionally unintelligent”, actually 😂). Also, as I have moved in with new roommates about three weeks ago, it’s kind of cool to see that many of the things I thought were irksome are kind of cool. I also vocalized that I was a tad melancholic that I felt like my roommates and I were “like ships passing in the night.” It’s been a bit nuts, but I will say that I am happy for this new phase in my life, and hearing you break it down so eloquently, Mayim, is pretty darn reassuring. So thanks. ☺️ Gotta love keen intellect. 😂 (Also, has that Dr. Amy Farah Fowler doll always been there? Looove it; want one lol. 😂)

I am sane and safe. I am a good friend, I can be trusted. If something bad happens it’s not because of me! That is something that I cherish. Real or not I’m used to it now amp I have learn to work through it and keep moving. Even if those feelings are real there’s nothing I can do about it. I can only control ams how I live and behave. I just couldn’t stop crying after watching this video! I too have always felt too much! Always had people telling me that I talke too much and too loud, was too enthusiastic etc. I have been insecure for my entire life and the talking was just a mask to hide that. The part where you tell about your friend helping you made me tear up! I had my person who made me feel better about myself since I ended up in her class at secondary school when I was 14! My best friend and soulmate Jess! I’ve been bullied a lot and she has always been my rock and greatest supporter in everything I did and wanted to do. She died of cervical cancer 22 September last year after 7 months of being extremely ill. 😢 Almost a year ago now and it still hurts so bad! She was my one person to go to, she understood me without words. We were so alike, never had a fight in the 17+ years of friendship that we had. It is hard trying to believe in myself without her rooting for me. I know she wants the best for me and am really trying to make the best of my life without her. Me seeing this video now is perfect timing! Seeing you opening up and me recognising the feeling you have/had about yourself makes me aware that I have to be nicer to myself and not let the negative thoughts take over! So thank you for putting it up here! ❤️😘

My comment is way late do to the fact that I am just now seeing it, but I'll post anyways. What a great topic. Makes me start to think why I'm alone 27 out of 30 days and might not even get a phone call from anyone for even longer. It has to be me. Has to be something I'm doing or something I did in the past for either me or others to seem to forget me. I do see and understand what your saying. Your videos and the messages within have been awesome also powerful. I find watching & listening to you is comforting and relaxing.

I bet this post resonated deep with so many :) We are always just our tiny young selves wrapped up in layers of being adults. From one “annoying” person to another...nicely done.

I like this about the organising principle. Whenever I have a negative thought about myself, life, the universe or whatever, I'm going to start saying "it's just my organising principle". I think it will help a lot! 💖

Jane Smith sorry if I upset you I truly am. The diagnosis I got surprised the heck out of me. Now I understand why I clean my floors so repeatedly for hours on end. I wasn't meaning to make light of it as you said. I'm just trying to figure out how not to cry about it. Humour is my go to in times of doubt and truly I'm very very sorry if I've upset you

A lovely honest video about feelings and insecurities. Something we all feel but don't always share. Thanks Mayim ♥️

"Hi. I think I'm annoying to people." Well now, Mayim, to be completely honest, we _all_ have moments like that.

Everything you described is totally me. My brother too is four years older than me and when I was a kid I followed him around everywhere. I often think I'm more annoying than a duck in a tree. I tend to care deeply for people and that tends to make me take on their problems as my own. God has shown me a lot of ways to cope, but even still I get clingy and pray about my anxieties. But everything you were talking about is so true.
