This is nice to know that sirens are being used again! I remember listening to a reddit story and someone said old people didn’t get notifications. It’s nice to know that if your phone is dead/no WiFi/you have no phone, you can still be warned

Amir Anore Good Question??
@adrianlau72497 жыл бұрын
People wouldn't make it to fallout shelters in time and would get caught outside during the blast. The state is telling everyone to stay where they are or go into a nearby building, that way people will already be in shelter when the missile hits.
@amiranore17077 жыл бұрын
Ayden Lau-Kehoe I get what you’re saying but I feel as though most houses wouldn’t protect against such a bomb I feel as though they should still have them open
@adrianlau72497 жыл бұрын
Amir Anore during the cold war, most shelters were just parking garages stored with food. We don't have any functioning fallout shelters as most no longer qualify or don't exist anymore.

Throughout my childhood, 60 years ago, the monthly siren tests in Hawaii consisted of three different types, for three different warnings. While these tests were going on, all radio stations would play the same prerecorded Civil Defense message that explained what each one meant. The nuclear one was described as the "wailing tone", which was obviously achieved by someone manually switching the on & off switch repeatedly. Fortunately, we never heard it in real life, although back then we DID undergo a great many tsunami warnings. Once there were two such warnings only a week apart, on respective Saturday nights, and each time thousands of people would evacuate from the coastlines. And by chance, nearly all of these tsunami warnings happened at night, just to make things more difficult. Since 1967, however, they've become uncommon due to better warning systems.
