I've lived on the BI for 2 years, and visited all sights mentioned. In addition, the Parker Ranch, the various waterfalls (Rainbow and Akaka), Waiokoloa and Hapuna Beach are also worth mentioning, not to mention Hawaii Volcanoes NP (with the ever active Kilauea Volcano). A drive to saddle road is awe inspiring (you are saddled between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa) but at the same time scary if you had a car breakdown or run out of gas, so plan accordingly. The observatory on top of Mauna Kea is also worth the visit. For the adventurous, head the Ka Lae, the REAL southernmost point of the USA, where I did the 50 ft cliff jump into the ocean. But alluring as the island is, to me two years is enough. The place is great for vacation no doubt about that. But if you are used to hustle and bustle and dynamic lifestyle, the island (and the entire state) maybe too laid back for you.

I lived here for a few months on a farm. Let me tell you, when he says no one in a hurry he isn't lying. Be humble and respectful. People care more about this great island than you can imagine. I have nothing but respect for this place. If you speak to natives and they get the right vibes they will tell you where to swim with wild dolphins and experience some really incredible vibes only found in a place like this. Ever seen a wild horse in the jungle?

I have been trying to say this park's name as fast as he was able to spit it out for the past hour, to no avail. If I am going to visit this place, I must say this right out of respect for how important this place was to the people. I mean, it would also be cool to make a park ranger's day by flawlessly pronouncing this. 😂

It is unfortunately. A lot of people want to move there. And it's still a very small island even though it's the "biggest". But it's literally paradise there. Everybody is so friendly and the weather is beautiful. Very good reason to become rich is to move to Hawaii. That's what I plan to do one day haha.

I had visited Hawaii 2 years ago and had visited several beaches...you would really enjoy the place if you have kids with you! We had really a great time there and fortunately we didn't had to pay much for it..VacSaver helped us a lot!
