So Mick is foiling his regular fins too. It ducks cause the FCS guy here is telling us, but FCS’s site sucks. They don’t tell you squat. I just bought Mick’s 2+ stabilizer and it’s an 80/20 and it’s the best fin I’ve ever ridden. All of a sudden I land every single wrap and turn I make at any speed. I can’t see why I’d want a flat foil ever again. But!, it’s hard to know what fins are 80/20. :-/

Yes totally agree...that is why we try to get educated from Keoni, he's been testing and studying every since he took over the FCS position from Kaipo Guerrero (WSL Contest Announcer). It's a blessing to have someone that is so into the gear..plus he's a high level surfer that charges.- David

@@hawaiiansouthshore yeah, I went over their fin spec chart which is separate from their regular site where the fins are shown. Wish FCS would just put the damn specs on the fin page with each fin. Looking at a chart is so frustrating. Do you know what IFT or FLAT/BEV means? On those Fanning thrusters in the video I swore he was saying they were 80/20, but on FCS’ spec page they all say FLAT/BEV. Seems contradictory to me. There’s the Toledo’s, Wilson’s, and Fanning’s, that are FLAT/BEV. There’s only a few 80/20s, mostly quad rears and the 2+ Fanning’s. I was hoping the H4’s would be 80/20s but only the quad rears to trail them are. Anyone know the what the difference would be on a quad having 80/20 up front vs 80/20s on the rears? I see both combos exist. Riding the 2+ Fanning’s I like the 80/20 up front just fine, it’s the best thing that ever instantly happened to my surfing. I want to run a quad with 80/20 but it seems that mostly the rears are 80/20 and fronts are flat. In my head, I’d think 80/20s up front to crack onto whatever it was that Mick discovered, and 50/50s in the rears. I wish I understood better what it all means and does, but there’s almost no information I can find anywhere where anyone can use clear language so that all these dynamics are easily understood and theoretically accessible to average surfers so they know exactly what each foil placed where will do. I was bummed because FUTURES doesn’t make Mick’s fins. Half my quiver is futures but I can’t get a MF fin. :( I found a comparable fin in the Taylor Knox 2+ but it’s a flat foil and the trailer isn’t the same shape like they are on MF’s 2+. I guess I’ll find out myself if it’s the fin shake or foil that’s made my surfing level up almost instantaneously. Anyone who wants to talk fins, please engage here. Shootz. Best of luck with fins to all. 🤙🤙🤙
