@@emmettmaunakea4002 l love the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. Have been there 10 or so times. But i digress. You have been following the Hogs for 7 years. I have followed them for 50 yrs. It is very frustrating. Im at a point where i watch a little of each game and eventually wander away from the tv. I attend 1 or 2 games a year with friend with a suite…otherwise i would never go to a game. Has season tickets in ‘90s and some of the ‘00s but not worth it since Petrino. As Trey says we are at a disadvantage talent-wise due to small state but our coaching could be improved. We are now a rung below Vandy…bottom 2 or 3 teams of the 16. With Pittman, it will not measurably improve from 6-6 with OU and Texas in the conference

Trey your like a sports psychologist! I’ve commented since after the A&M game on how I feel scorned and tug and pull ll of the toxic relationship with being a hog fan at times. I live in San Antonio and went golfing just so I wouldn’t have to watch the game. My wife who grew up in Dallas is now an all in razorback fan and I had to watch the game with her. I get to hear it from Longhorn and Aggie fans down here and get to make a game or 2 a year. This year has just been different with football. I would be a 4th gen u of an alum if I got a degree. Great grandpa name is on the steps of old main and I still have the tickets and the game pamphlet from my grandpa going to the 1970 sugar bowl against arch manning. The love for the hogs runs deeper than the hollers rolling to Fayetteville for me. It’s the outdoors, generations, excitement for Saturdays. I feel like you were talking to me at the end of the video. I’m married to this team and I feel lately like I’ve been cheated on hearing about other programs talk smack here in Texas. The nail in the side of Arkansas is football I hope nil can be the great equalizer. Thanks Trey I appreciate your passion and love for that team it can take a lot of ya at times.

I will always support the Hogs and wish for the coach’s success. I like Sam and think he’s making steady improvements even if it doesn’t always show up in the win-loss column. I believe stability and continuity in coaching is one of the most critical elements of having a winning program and to getting Arkansas football back to a winning culture which will then bring the expectation of greatness and winning which is the one thing our program has lacked since our days in the SWC. Firing Houston Nutt has brought us to where we are now. An Arkansas HC needs to be committed to Razorback football pride and tradition. That is built, not bought. Sam is all Hog and he’s had a lot of turnover with coordinators. The path to future success is establishing and maintaining stability and building from there. We haven’t won an SEC championship in our 30+ years in the league so I sometimes don’t understand Razorback fans’ lofty standards. Support your coach and team and stop contributing to the toxic culture with all of your negativity. We’re closer to where we were 20 years ago than where we were 6 years ago.
@justincase5847Күн бұрын
First of all, WPS. I love our young men, I wish nothing but the best for the players going forward. I also personally like Sam Pitman and I love his passion to be a razorback. However, our program is in shambles. We can’t properly evaluate talent, we inconsistently feed the ball to the wrong players, we call ineffective plays and/or start behind the sticks almost every series, they have yet to show me substantial player growth and development, our o line is consistently inconsistent at best and down right terrible at times, we lack vocal captains that squeeze the best out of their teammates, we totally whiff on bye week development and preparation, and the list goes on and on. We want to blame it on NIL or a lack thereof, but we’re not elevating the playing ability of the players we already have from week to week. Bless his heart but our HC on a weekly basis tells us that we need to improve on this or that but he has yet to figure out how to make that happen. How can we ever attract tier 1 SEC athletes to a program that doesnt develop what talent it has to increasingly higher levels from week to week?! Throw all the NIL money you want to at talented “free agents” or freshmen, but if we can’t coach them up then you get these kinds of results! QB1 is still slow to make pre snap reads, he is still slow to get the ball out of his hands, our receivers are still running poor routes which exacerbates the problem and don’t even get me started on the offensive line!!! Our HC is a o line guy?!?! How can we not be improving in that category weekly?! We get our butt kicked in the trenches damn near every week. This is simply not an acceptable level of SEC football. We should see consistent measurable improvement in player development. I have not bailed out on Sam up until this point because I was watching and hoping to see him and his coaches improve the players ability to execute their level of play ever week, but frankly we haven’t seen that at all. To top it all off we’ve seen the coaches get out coached so many times schematically this year it’s disheartening. I’d love to see Sam respectfully step down or be eased out as the head coach at this point. My hearts breaks to say that bc that man is a true razorback inside and out, but he’s just not cutting it as our leader. We need someone who is going to come in here and elevate our players abilities, coach them up, motivate them, and provide the players, fans, alumni, and program with measurable improvement from week to week. I personally don’t need to see 9-11 win seasons every year, I just need to turn on the TV or show up to a game and see measurable improvement and growth from our players and our team. Unfortunately, that is not happening. It’s time to rethink Sam’s role. I want him to stay in the program bc he has a lot of great attributes that can help the program going forward, but his body of work as the head coach should justify a changing of the guard. 😞
@russellwright5788Күн бұрын
@justincase5847 I totally agree with everything you said except the love for Sam pittman, he only loves it here simply because arkansas is the only place that will except him to be a head coach and he can scam them out of 6 million a year, I don't see any other program being interested in hiring him, but you better be careful about saying the things ,you will be attacked by the sheep herd and told to find you another team to root for.

I think you have to look at the facilities and history of your peers. I know Arkansas is and can be a special place, but if you're telling me the schedule is LSU, Ole Miss, Missouri, Texas, Mississippi State, Auburn, Tennessee and Texas A&M and saying the bar (which I take it as the minimum) is to go 5-3 every year, I just can't agree with that. Sure, sometimes you have a special year, but as the minimum of what is acceptable, I just don't know about that. Not today, anyway. But beating half those teams is not unreasonable to ask IMO.

The entire approach @ Arkansas has been wrong always. How about stop having one of the toughest schedules in college football, you’d stay in the top #25, get better recruiting, and build a program. Winning 1/2 or less games per season brings no talent or money. There’s no East/West SEC, pick a realistic schedule, get 8/9 wins year over year, better bowl games, and a shot to get talent needed to win the SEC someday. It’s doable, any DIV1 team can beat any DIV1 team, we learned that in 2024 with the sea of never ending upsets. Play a schedule you can win, & build a program, get the top SEC teams off the schedule, period.

Taylen is horrible, there is not a game that he doesn't make bad decisions. He cant make reads fast enough. NIL & Transfer Portal is of the damn devil!! Nick Saban was spot on with his testimony before congress. Singleton makes more sound decisions, runs when its appropriate.He is hands and tails better than Taylen. Bobby Petrino had us 10 feet from a Natty and a Alabama/Nick Saban dynasty program. Even Houston Nutts years were a blast. We fired him and all but destroyed the program. We are just now starting to slide back out of the center of that toilet bowl the University put the football program in. I was at the LA Tech game. Bringing my kids to their first Hog game. If it weren't for all the during the game theatrics, it would have been a boring outing for them. There was nothing worth watching with our football team. Its just so sad. Let me say one other thing that is absolutely disgusting and beyond ridiculous to me and could make last night my last time to come to a game. 1 Beer, 1 Sprite, 1 bag of Skittles, and a hot dog, 35.00 dollars.
