@lowellfink92924 жыл бұрын
Hey just wanted to let everyone in the comment section know, that my bike starts year round within the first 3 kicks with a cold start. Just please consider these things to help you start the bike and to help the bike last longer. #1 make sure your bike is cleaned, mainly the carb and exhaust and also the engine must have oil as well as coolant. Also lube the chain with Any type on oil. I recommend using WD-40 because it works great for anything. #2 Get on the bike when ready, and make sure your in neutral. Then give the bike 20 slow kicks, when done give the bike hard kicks. If it's above -6 degrees F. Then it'll start within 5 kicks TOPS. If you have to kick the bike 14-20 times and it's 50+ degree outside then that means something is really wrong with your bike. And you need to get it fixed. #3 very important, if it's cold outside and you just start your bike. Allow the engine at least 2-5 minutes to warm up. If you take off on the bike while the engine is cold. You'll blow the engine and you'll probably end up spending around $500 to $2,000 just to get it running again. If you want proof just watch enduro riders or motocross racers start their bikes in the winter. I ride enduro and i ride on my 2 bikes, 2014 Suzuki RM-Z 250 4-stroke. And my 2018 Apollo 250. Where i live it's 42 right now, and i can start both my bikes within 5 kicks total. Dirt bike engine is very strong/Durable. ALSO NITEBIRD SCUFFLE YOU MISSED A KICK, AND IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU GOT SOME CARB BUILD UP

Heck dude, it sounds like you know a little bit about mechanics. So I’m sure you know that 39 degrees is quite cold for a little thumper like that to fire up on a cold start, especially after sitting for a while. That’s why it has 2 choke settings. All it probably needed was a kick or two to pull some gas from the tank, then full on choke till it gets warm, then half choke till it’s all warm & happy 😊… unless it has a problem or something. I’m looking into one of these Chinese bikes & have narrowed it down to either the Hawk or the Tah Tah, I think that’s how it’s spelled 🤷🏻♂️. But you seem to be happy with your hawk though, so I’m still mulling it over. It will probably come down to a flip of the coin lol. Thanks for the video though. 👍🏼

Also something i found weird with the Hawk 250, or anything made by Hawk, It's very week, just saying my starter bike Honda CRF 125 2009 feels a lot like the Hawk 250 Enduro. NOTE THE HAWK'S ENGINE IS 125 CC MORE THEN MY OLD CRF. BUT IT HAS LESS POWER AND THE HAWK I GOT WAS 2019, COMPARED TO MY 2009 HONDA, 10 YEAR CHANGE THEIR BUT THE OLDER BIKE IS BETTER, Also i got a 2014 Suzuki RM-Z 250 4-stroke. And it's got FMF Exhaust and premium fuel. I can get over 20 horses outta her any day. ALSO NOTE MY 2009 Honda CRF 125 has 9.3 HP, With my mods on it it has 12.6 HP, Mind you. LOOK AT THIS DOWN BELOW 2009 Honda CRF 125, 12.6 HP, top speed 55 MPH. 2019 Hawk 250cc, 14.1 HP, Top speed 59 MPH. My point is, my 11 year old Honda 125 is damn near equal to a 1 year old Hawk 250 i got. So when you go to get a Hawk 250. Ask the owner, is it faster and stronger then a Honda CRF 250. And also look at the Shocks, My hawk has front shocks that are about half the size of my Suzuki 250. Meaning it's half as good at absorbing the shocks/bumps. That's all i have to say about the Hawk, 250. ALSO, IF YOU LIVE IN MISSOURI AND YOU WANT A LIKE NEW GREAT RUNNING HAWK 250, PLEASE EMAIL ME AT finklowellatgmail.com finklowell I'm SELLING IT FOR $1,000 BECAUSE I HATE IT AND I WANT IT GONE ASAP IF YOU CAN'T DO A THOUSAND LET ME KNOW AND ALSO SENT ME A PIC OF WHAT MONEY YOU HAVE AS WELL AS THE BILLS BECAUSE I'M GREAT AT MATH AND EQUATIONS, SO DON'T LIE TO ME. I LIVE IN THE AVA SPARTA AREA I CAN MEET WITHIN A 100 MILE RADIUS FROM AVA AND SPARTA. BIKE RUNS GREAT IT'S CLEAN. Wait i lied, bike has a bit of dirt on it, i'll give it a cleaning tomorrow

Well a 2 stroke motor on a bicycle frame I’d sure would think does 60-75 a Ktm motor at that. The hawk is a dual sport it’s heavy as hell for stability in trails and climbing and isn’t built to do 100 anyway it’s also only a single cylinder

It's your fastest run because it's freezing I would never voluntarily ride in those conditions it's completely uncomfortable. Lastly investment in starter fluid sealed battery under warranty and titanium hardware with thread locker you're going to need it. I see you ride with no sprocket cover and I can guess why from experience. When you're missing critical parts(covers studs bolts etc) due to wear or damage You have a tough decision to make either swap the motor or continue riding a dangerous damaged bike. I'm going to say this the nicest way I know how as the voice of experience. If you don't have titanium studs in your skid plate titanium studs holding your exhaust titanium frame bolt and fasteners you're gambling with your life. The devil you know is easiest to defeat. Installing a carburetor is easy, a child can do that if you want to impress me swap the motor swap the rear sprocket swap the brakes. When you have disassembled that bike completely and reassembled us properly to DOT spec you will no longer be a novice to us builders who disassemble and reassemble our bikes daily.

If your carb is jetted correctly, your choke works as designed.
