Since you don't have a dvd player o to the motocheeze channel on youtube. He does a complete assembly vid and vids on how to fix problems on these bikes. He also has awesome japaneese mini truck content and I think hes based somewhere out of th Eastern US area around Newyork or Connecticut?
@loganholmberg22954 жыл бұрын
Note for his assembly vid he takes it on a test drive for the first 7 min and then he shows you how he put it together. 😅

After watching motocheez videos i ordered a 2016 model i did most of his recommendation mods and so far has been reliable and fun for the money... I'd buy another one on a heartbeat but don't see my hawk dying any many many miles soon

Interesting for sure... most "E-bikes" (the pedal assisted kind) are well north of $2k with very limited range and speed. If this thing is reliable...another option opens up. Need a service/maintenance network if there are issues though.

Watching this video reminded me of one of the first jobs I had when I got out of the Army in 1991. Jobs were hard to come by back then but I was able to find part-time work at Carter's Cycle and Marine in Huntsville Texas. They hired me to put together 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, etc... I think I got paid $25 per. And yeah the first Big Bear I put together took like 2 days! I did put together and all new Yamaha TDM 850. It was always sort of my pride and joy. It was the only one that dealership was alloted. And to think that I put it together straight out of the crate. Unfortunately, the TDM was a little ahead of its time it didn't sell well and was cancelled after a year or two. You guys are pretty bright I'm sure he won't have a problem putting the bike together. But if it were me, I would at least search to see if the build instructions have been downloaded somewhere before starting.

I absolutely LOVE your project goals with this, and I am subscribed to this channel specifically because of this bike. I love Honda CG clones :P The engine is a 229cc pushrod engine, by the way. Just like everything, rounded up for marketing. Oh, and don't be one of those people that ask "Why doesn't this pushrod engine breathe well at higher RPMs like an overhead cam engine?". This is a weird lazy workhorse engine by design, it is built for daily use in the low and mid range. It doesn't scream like most of the bikes anyone is used to, even for a thumper! Sounds happy putting about, though.

Yeah go to motocheeze channel. He does a complete assembly vid and vids on how to fix problems on these bikes. That should help you with the issues you are going to run into. He also does vids on modying them to go faster and off roading with them in the Eastern NewYork area?

This is gonna be great, i think the ignition lock is there because key safety isnt very good, like if you stick a paper clip in it then it may start, so thats why it can close and lock

Are you saying dirty riding isn’t an adventure? I rode them from 1974 till 2010 when my ability to heal couldn’t keep up with the get offs. Never a boring minute in that time🙈. Real dirt bikes don’t have light switches either

By now it is too late to highly suggest you use that DVD for instructions. Can find a DVD drive in 1 of your test vehicles or someone has a DVD drive in your crew. If not, they are a dime a dozen to buy at used electronic shops or online. Looking forward to seeing this project completed. As Kase pointed out, the scuffs and nicks are everywhere. Shame.

I just wouldn't buy a bike from Amazon. These cheap old-tech bikes are common across the globe. The prices are a lot lower in most of the world. The question is when there are dealers and parts and test rides across the US, for $2k cycles. The TFL intro to the Honda Cub shows the divide. The Cub is a little too techy, too refined, with ultra limited storage. The Cub is stranded where I live. There is no way out of town that doesn't involve a 65 - 80 mph road. So what do you need to get out of my little town? At least a 250. Most of the YT vids have been very short term, so you get no sense of how to make a $2k cycle work. Most of the big channels are so scatter-shot, just all over the place. I'd suggest just being disciplined.
