I have always prefered swords rather than guns so I always played a games where I could use sword and similar things like ones in FF-type 0 ..I never liked games where I'm suposed to use guns but I decided to give chance to this game and I am so addicted to it but I suck ..I awfully suck ..I would be happy if I could shot just garbae can since I can barely shoot enemy but your advices helped me a lot and I want to thank you.

Thanks for the tips! I just started playing Hawken and really needed them lol. In the beginning I kept dying and was kinda worried that the team loses because of me but I ended up getting tips and friends from the match. These are some great tips for Hawken game play. It takes a long time to get good at watching your radar. When you get good at it you can shot based on when you think someone is coming around a corner which will let you get the first big hit in. Most of the time, the person that hits first wins.

I know you made this a long time ago, but what if you literally just got the game, and only have the one mech. I haven't played it so I don't know if you get them quickly or not, but if so do you just go for kills to get exp? Also what do you play on.

exp really doesn't get you anywhere HC is what allows you to buy new mechs and only time played and whether you won or lost affects the amount of HC earned. I don't play Hawken anymore sadly but I used to play on PC.

Nice tips...that's why my favorite item is the radar scrambler :p holograms can also save you in some situations. I would say that Techie can be an offensive mech with the hawkins but as with all light mechs you need to be careful and time your entrance in the battle...If the other team is sticking together then tech should support of course :)

Well the game recently released on consoles and I am glad I found this video. I was having some trouble getting to grips with the game but it is interesting. I really like the Berserker mech you are using here and I recently unlocked on called Infiltrator that has a grenade launcher and a weird kind of gun you charge up to fire a lot of shots and I don't really understand how to play that one any tips?

1. Welcome to Hawken:) 2. In this video I'm using the PC version of the Assault mech. 3. The infiltrator is more of a sabotage and assassination type mech. It does massive burst damage when you fully charge your primary. Try to cloak in and kill enemies that are repairing. When in direct combat focus on hitting your grenades.

Not currently. There are 4 modes. TDM, DM, MA, and Seige. TDM and DM you should be familiar with. MA is basically domination from COD, and Seige you have to experience for yourself.

Great pace with this video, I've learned a lot. I do enjoy playing Hawken on PS4 with one issue that I can't seem to correct or adjust. That is while in a dog fight with another mech my mech would rotate facing away from them I'm learning to play through it but is this common?

I've watched the video, but that's not my issue. What I'm getting is when the enemy and I are shooting at each other facing directly face to face not rotating and while being shot my mech would just do full 180° turn... And sometimes when I'm approaching another mech it would do it as well.. otherwise the game play is normal.. I thought maybe my equipment but it's just in Hawken. I will also add it's only certain mechs like the assault while going against certain players. I could play all day but as soon as a select players log on it starts, i didn't know if it is a weapon they're using or what..

There's a 180 button that you must be hitting by mistake. That's the only explanation that I can think of.

Im playing Hawken on the PS4 and Im playing the Assault Mech primarily, but i notice something odd. I cant seem to hit people. Its not that I cant keep my crosshairs on the enemy, it just seems like my shots arnt registering despite me unloading a whole bunch of dakka at close range. Is it lag or is there something im not getting? Or are my guns just that fucking inaccurate?

lag is a definite possibility. I would questions where you live and what kind of internet you have. The guns are fairly accurate but aiming with a controller sucks. Unfortunately there's no way to tell your ping on console so you'll never know if your connection is bad.

Jordan Smith theres also the chance your firing at a decoy mech. the same thing happened to me a lot until i realized the guy i was firing at was a decoy. the decoys dont move and can take unlimited damage and they heal when the real person is healing too. but if your firing at people moving around and your hits arent registering then i dont know what to tell ya.

+Majin Buu The G2 versions are statistically better than the G1s but not significantly. All of the G2s are on par with each other for the most part so find a G1 that you like and invest in the G2 variant. The game isn't really pay to win as much as it is pay to not grind. As a side note, the starter mech is actually very good. I'd recommend it as top tier if you enjoy playing it.

I just started playing on PS4, and i love the incinerator, but I feel like I'm not doing as good w/ it as i am with some of the other mechs. like i'm not using it right or something (either that or i just suck, which is entirely possible xD). any tips on using heat effectively? Is there a particular style of play that i should be aware of that caters to the incinerator specifically? I'm not saying the advice you gave in this video wasn't helpful, for someone like me this kind of thing is a lifesaver. I'm just wondering if there's anything else i should know. ^-^

The incinerator is very weak right now in comparison to the other mechs. I would not recommend it. If you do want to use it, here are some tips. Heat works differently on the incinerator. Instead of heat dissipating over time and both guns generating it, heat is generated by your primary weapon and dissipated by your secondary. The incinerator requires constant firing of both in order to maintain consistent damage. Make sure you stick with your team as you will be an easy target for multiple fast movers if alone. With the bulk of your team around you, you will be able to support them through your heat absorption and high damage output. Incin is best paired with a technician as he will be able to use you as cover while you have almost infinite sustainability in fights. If you have any further questions let me know.

lethal_ girl Are you on console? If so you should be able to use the directional pad or left thumb stick to navigate the menu and either x or A to select menu options. On PC it should be as simple as mousing over the play button and left clicking. If that doesn't work out then I don't know what the issue is.

Basically if you want to grind less then either the Prosk or Nemesis bundle are worth considering. You don't really need to buy them though. Everything can be easily attained with the current grind.

Is there some secret to dramatically improving your gameplay at this ? i'm doing alright and i have about 200 hours in, but still most of the players i'm with seem to do a lot better.. i recently found out about the ranking and mine never tops 2000, and apparently it goes all the way to 3000.. For you I would say that the best thing to do is play against elite players. We can 1v1 sometime if you'd like. I can also teach you some of the more advanced movements that are crucial to success. As far as a tip goes? I would say that becoming more accurate and consistent is the most important thing you can do. Positioning is also very important. Hope that helps and good luck out there:)

This game looked sooooo awesome 4 or 5 years ago when I was playing the Alpha and Beta releases. but the silly issues they had then, still persist. no matter what you are walking on, you move the same so other than having an object between u and an opponent, there is no advantage to going any place. it reminded me then and still now like Quake was, like you are playing on a giant level of glass. This game could have been so much more and gave COD and Battlefield a run for their money but they missed the mark. its sad because it didnt need much to get there.

I would argue that adding more complexity to a game with an already massive skill ceiling wouldn't be helpful. The core issue with Hawken is that it simply isn't engaging enough to keep players around. Damn shame because it's still a great game.

Thats exactly it. it just needed a little and it would have been a home run. a more inclusive feel like you are controlling a large machine and not a COD soldier. maybe giving the giant weapons a big feel like something powerful is happening. Its just not different enough, especially in the controls to make it the winning game. hell, giving it controls similar to Crimson Skies or like driving a tank. I thought it needed that with a joystick on PC and with dual thumb sticks on the consoles, i think it would have made it unique enough to draw people. I was one of the first to use a 360 controller on the PC Alpha. it just felt right except it never allowed me to remap the controls like i mentioned.

Honestly I think that you're trying to make it into something that it's not. It's an arena shooter with a mech skin, not a mech shooter that plays like an arena game. If you want a tank game or a mech game WOT and MW online are much better. Many come to Hawken assuming that it's part of the traditional American mech genre (big and heavy) because of the art style, when in reality it is much more of a gundam style.

I wish it was indeed more like a Gundam game. but it feels more like a cheep FPS skin from the 90's like Quake but the soldier has in a Mech costume. i have played a TON of FPS and Mech games over the years. This feels like one of the glassy surface games of the 90's while its trying to make the machines feel light and floaty. Heavy gear was another Mech game and it was similar, but different enough it was its own game. Hawken isnt enough of a Mech game to attract Mech fans and is too lackluster to attract FPS guys in droves. Its missing that difference maker. with soooooo many games coming out I am very picky with what i spend time on and i believe there are a ton of people that feel the same. the standouts in my mind over the years are Golden eye, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Mech Warrior 2, Quake 2, Unreal Championship, Halo, CODMW, and now BF1. all offered something new thats been copied over and over. Hawken missed that mark, but not by much. I think a different control mechanic (pc and console) and a more immersive feel would do it. production issues and a lack of funding early on i think really limited a lot of those ambitions. When the Alpha was out there was talk of it being a Xbox exclusive and a PC companion. Charge $20 for a disk as a new game for the 2014 holiday season and offer competitive online play? it would have been a winner. i know its a Free game, but that alone turns off people, assuming its lower quality. Its a great Free To Play game, dont get me wrong. but having Played the Alpha and Beta on PC, I really had high hopes for this game and seeing it virtually unchanged from those iterations; is disappointing.

hey buddy i play apb in past and was wonder about this game so i will install it thanks for tips :D i will find some guide on the fighters (mecks i assume) maybe i will like this game its good news reloaded got this game because they are not the best but they at least try very hard with a small staff working insane hours to fix big problems (even though in apb we say stuff like money first :D ) i can tell you from my experience of playing apb so much (4000 hours at least) that the servers was very rarely ever down and any bad patch was fixed with very great speed

I'm top 10 in the world in this game and I can assure you that the more damage you do the more successful you will be. Doing damage sounds simple but many people don't emphasize it in their play.
