Good point, plus re: Yelana doing her homework, outside of the very bare basics, I don’t see Clint bothering to tell anyone outside of his family and the Avengers themselves how Nat died. The most I bet anyone outside of them knows is Both went somewhere and only one came back. Even in the world we live in now, conspiracies and rumors would brew on that alone like crazy. So there would be little for Yelana to do homework on and the best way for her to do it would be talk to Clint herself, and by then she has Val and possibly other saying Clint is also the one responsible.
@Jaderabbit34853 жыл бұрын
I got the exact same impression: if Clint killed her that meant her sister died because of him and if Natasha DID sacrifice herself it meant her sister chose to save others rather than have a chance to see her again. Yelena is shown kind of as having a little kid mentality still, she doesn't really talk things through and the way she acted at the end I think part of her knew Clint was telling the truth but she needed an outlet regardless. That's why she beat him up and then suddenly seemed to accept his version of events, she'd gotten it out of her system and can use a future friendship with him to learn more about the sister she's lost.

The show itself (through the separate conversations she has with Kate & then Clint) is pretty much TELLING her she's letting her rage/pain get the best of her & how her love for her sister is being manipulated in order to get rid of Clint. & I actually love how this show actually takes the time to acknowledge just how much Natasha meant to Clint & acts as a eulogy for that character. Bringing Yelena in & adding in the detail that she was snapped the first go around just makes Nat's death/sacrifice SO MUCH more impactful. & I love the dynamic between Hawkeye & Kate. I actually didn’t buy that Yelena would be so hellbent to kill Clint. There’s little reason and justification for it, and based on everything we know about the character I thought the only way she would be this hellbent based on the information she knew is if she were an idiot, and I never got the sense that she was an idiot. To base your entire rage on the word of one person who wasn’t even there seems really stupid. Especially when you know your sister was an Avenger and embraced being a hero, most likely that she was close to Clint, and that the Avengers were the ones to bring everyone back. What reason is there to suspect that Clint would all of a sudden kill Nat or let her die for no reason. I don’t think relying on grief is enough to justify her character arc. Seems too contrived for my tastes. I think trying to find Clint for closure is much better. What they actually did felt too much like a typical superhero misunderstanding that gets cleared up at the end.

The only differences between the two versions is (like with most of the Netflix shows) they're not using some of the plot threads from the Daredevil show, for obvious continuity reasons. i haven't seen the Black Widow movie yet so this is the first time i've seen this Yelena character. for the most part she's a pretty likeable character to me although it took me a while to vibe with her humor. and contrary to what you guys feel, i very much sympathized with her and how she wanted to confront and kill Clint Barton, based on the info this series gave me. she knows that her sister Natasha is a very strong, stubborn and can be cold-hearted just like her as they are both trained assassins. so i can understand why she is in denial hearing that her sister sacrificed herself for the sake of not just the world, but also, for Clint. the story got no witness (except for Red Skull but he ain't going to court), only Clint knows what really happened. it wasn't just Natasha there alone and she made the decision to jump off the cliff, she chose to do it also for Clint to not have to. both of them actually fight each other till the very very VERY end to be the one to sacrifice. but Yelena doesnt know that, only Clint knows that, so it's not a bad suspicion for her to think maybe Clint threw Natasha off the cliff and killed her. that is why she need to confront him, to know who this man is and what truly happen, to feel it through his own words and actions. and finally after a huge beat down, she trust that he is sincere, and is in just as much pain and grief as she is, and she walked away. im still warming up to Kate Bishop character, but everything regarding Clint and the characters interacting with him was my favorite part of this series.
@Ren_Davis05313 жыл бұрын
Problem is Yelena knew Nat was an Avenger, had embraced being a hero, and must have known how close Nat was to Clint. Based on that why would Clint just randomly kill Nat or let her die for no reason? She should have known better. She also knows, like the rest of the world, that the Avengers were the ones to bring everyone back from the Blip. I don’t see that character thinking Clint killed her sister just because one person told her so. It would be one thing if she needed to find Clint to get some closure, but she was hellbent on killing him simply because of what one person who wasn’t even there told her. It really felt like a typical superhero misunderstanding that leads to a fight only for them to clear everything up and move on. Wasn’t the best use of Yelena. I wish they had focused on the needing to find closure angle and her chemistry with Kate. Her dynamic with Kate was what salvaged the character in this show for me.

@@Ren_Davis0531 from a logical standpoint, i can see what you're saying, and definitely this could have been written a bit better, nothing is perfect and there's always room for improvements. But from a sympathetic point of view i can understand why Yelena would have a vendetta against Clint who was the only one there and maybe could have done better to save Natasha. During the fight she did said to Clint: "You should have try harder!". This is a person who loves her sister very much and is in denial after losing 5 years of her life in a blink of any eye and woke up to her sister being dead. I too have an older sister who i love very much and i can understand why Yelena would be feeling this way from all the pain and grief she must have felt. Clearly she is wrong and didn't understand the whole situation or what really happened, but im just saying i understand why.

@@billnguyen4148 I think the difference is that I don’t buy that she would feel that way based on simply one person’s comment about what happened who wasn’t there. Everything she does know is that her sister was a superhero and loved being an Avenger. I think relying on grief to tell this story is simply just contriving a way to manufacture some conflict. The character they presented seemed too smart to just go with one person’s word about what happened to her sister. Especially when that person wasn’t there. She was hellbent based on the words of one person that was given more weight then everything else she knew about her sister and the Avengers. Seems a bit extreme for that character.
@billnguyen41483 жыл бұрын
@@Ren_Davis0531 i think the way she felt about Clint came from more than what King Pin or whoever else said to her, it came from grief. and human beings can be very illogical and make unreasonable conclusions and actions when they are grieving. i guess it came down to me being empathetic towards her feelings, more than you, and it's fine either way, again i know she is wrong and in complete denial about all of this. but also, even though Yelena told Kate over and over again she's here to kill Clint, when it came down to it, when she finally met him, she didnt say "I have nothing to say to you! DIE!", if she did that then the whole scene would have felt contrive to me, but no, she went: "I need to know what happened." and throughout the whole fight, she went through all the 5 stages of grief. she was in DENIAL at first, then ANGER let to her violent towards Clint. when she hear the story from his own mouth, she was thinking maybe Clint could have done better to save Nat, maybe if she was there she could have save Nat, that was BARGAINING. then as the reality settling in that Nat is gone forever, she starts crying, that's DEPRESSION. Finally, she put the gun down, and walked away as she understood that Clint is just the same as her, but he's been dealing with this lost for the last 5 years. reaching ACCEPTANCE, and she walked away. that's my take on the whole scene and that's why i liked it, and it didn't feel contrived at least to me.

I’ll be honest I was hoping for a more grounded and realistic approach with this Hawkeye show but the jokes were completely awful in this show and kept getting in the way of the show Kate bishop was the start and felt like Hawkeye didn’t do much till episode 4 and tracksuits didn’t feel threatening at just all a bunch of jokesters I love some of the smaller moments with Hawkeye and Kate and Yelena was actually dope to see her tryna find and kill Hawkeye and all but for my what made this show was the kingpin his presence and everything was just there but the only Problem I have is how tf is Kate bishop able to solo kingpin it makes no sense I wanted kingpin to destroy her beat her down within a inch of her life where her final resort is the arrow show that blew kingpin up I feel like that’s how it should’ve but instead it was just kingpin throwing Kate bishop around like some cartoon shit and I didn’t like that at all tbh but nonetheless it was great seeing kingpin so his thing in this show and for a fact kingpin is not dead tbh overall the show is a B-

this show makes Yelena seems like a bipolar...one time she's all fun & game with Kate...then the next, she's all blood-thirsty MAD with vengeance with Clint. that's been my problem with her, in Black Widow (which was such a mess, especially TONE wise). the only way i see to FIX her...is maybe to do say that she DOES have bipolar as a result of her trauma as a black widow..a brainwashed one at that. and how she'd deal with all that moving forward..now THAT would be fascinating. they try to make her get that quick appealing quality to the audience so they make her this funny funny jokey jokey character, which is ridiculous with she being an ex-brainwashed cold-blooded deadly assassin. no trauma, no nothing..just making jokes, jokes, jokes... Here, she started off good..but then, the next episode, with her mac&cheese dinner with Kate..again we got the jokester Yelena. that's why, to me, that whole thing between her and Clint just didn't really work..mainly due to all the silly comedy routine she had with Kate, just prior to it. they need to make up their mind on whether to make her a more serious and gritty character, which would be CORRECT...or this annoying, uneven lame character. a black widow is NOT a family-friendly character...UNLESS, she's an Avenger.

I liked how they kept him as a big threat like in the Netflix Daredevil show, and how they kept him dominate in his fight with Kate Bishop. Now, I’m not gonna immediate jump on the hate bandwagon because I don’t think he’s dead especially since they didn’t show it. Either he really did die or this is a fake out and he was hit in shoulder or possibly blinded and they’re saving him for the Echo show or for when they want to do something with Daredevil again. There are plenty of factors to explain why Yelena didn't know what exactly happened to Natasha, but when it comes down to she wanted to here it from the only other that was there.
