Note about U.S. Agent: I also didn't play him at first. I reconsidered after some discussion on the Geek. With 5 health (or six with the upgrade in Hawkeye's deck), he can likely take two hits from the Villain, which almost no other ally can do at three cost. With retaliate he's a prime candidate for the Ally toughness card in Hawkeye's pre-built Leadership deck. With a little luck he can block 3, maybe even 4 attacks and do damage back every time. For Hawkeye, who desperately needs blockers, he can be a lifesaver.

Yeah... Iost five straight games with Hawkeye against Taskmaster, and that's after tweaking his deck after the second or third loss... In the second game, similarly, I thought he defeated me in the very first round, but it was only down to one hit point left... Lol... I battled back for a few rounds, but of course succumbed to him in the end... Good video, Wossy...

All true. Without setup, you end up shooting a random arrow as it pops up and can barely keep a board of allies out With early setup, you end up with a choice of arrow for the situation that you can shoot for free and use your hand to just play allies and boost them (or course assuming you're using the included Leadership deck, tweaked or not). During the campaign, I gave him the attack improvement and would use Spider-Woman to put Combat Training on him. Generally I would shoot and arrow and attack for 5 plus bring out Allies.

I found the most effective way to play Hawkeye is leadership Ally spam to ensure their is always a blocker for damage... also found aggression cards with mean swing, skilled strike, press the advantage, etc., paired with Jarnbjorn can be effective as well

I play Hawkeye Robin-Hood-Green in solo. This way I can easily enforce a stun-lock until I get set-up. This works fine for most villains up 'til Expert-mode. At heroic 1 it gets a bit dicey and he risks getting swarmed if the villain has a lot of minions, that is of course unless he see an early set-up. With an early set up your still dandy no matter what. Also against villains with few minions he is still alright taking a first run through the deck for set up even at Heroic 1. Heroic 2 is rough no matter what but then again most heroes has a rough time at heroic 2.

Heroes like Hawkeye are essential for the game. If they let power creep get to this game too fast then everyone will be Cap, Spider Woman and Dr Strange and that's not fun nor necessary for multi player. Role players are just fine for multiplayer and it seems like that's where Hawkeye fits in. Although I'm not sold on him as a leadership aspect character other than the need for blockers and not excelling at any one stat in particular. He seems like Hulk, Widow, Thor (and most of the stand alone character pack characters) where they won't necessarily contribute every turn. But after the right amount of build-up they can have some really big turns that will win you the game. Although Quicksilver does seem to be one of those Cap, Dr Strange, Spider Woman type of characters

Thanks for the review. Absolutely agree. I always put Downtime and Endurance into his deck (I recommend if playing the campaign all heroes should take these two cards anyway) which makes Clint a tough guy while waiting to get his quiver (assuming he doesn't get taken out first turn). Unlike many other heroes Hawkeye doesn't have a preferred aspect - its all about the arrows and he rarely gets to use the other cards if he has them. He's effectively a Core deck plush resource cards imo.

I'd say leadership gets a bit of a bump simply because cheap allies keep Hawkeye alive while he pew pews

If we ever get cards that allow you to dig in your deck for specific cards then it will be a must have for Hawkeye. You’re 100% about how much better it is when you get his quiver out early. That was my exact experience, too.
