I saw these guys in the mid 70's in Southampton..... they were LOUD! Wasn't worried about my ears, I was more worried about my rib cage! 😂😂😂

While this was their biggest hit, reaching number 2 in the British charts on the 2nd August 1972, this didn't appear on a Hawkwind album for years after it was released., the "Chick", is Stacia, who danced regularly onstage with Hawkwind, usually naked.

Well, why didn't I get the naked version??? lmao

🤣I think that was the studio recording over the film. The static your talking about is part of the recording. Hawkwind were the initiators of Space Rock, often had spaced out sounds in the background. You may not have noticed, the singer was Lemmy, he became known while a member of Hawkwind, he started Motorhead when he left the band.

I played with Hawkwind a few times in the early 70s, I don't mean supporting them, I mean actually playing with them. Including bootlegs I have about 200 Hawkwind albums in my collection, them and the Pink Fairies were my go to bands back in the day... David.

@@powerdavid6235 You must have played in gigs that included my favourite 'local' band Man. I read Deke Leonard's book, it appeared the 70's were one long trip for them 😅

@@BoringTaff Of course, Man were everywhere in the early 70s. saw them so many times I lost count. They were great.

This is one of their more well known tracks but there are better. Lemmy (of Motorhead) played with them and actually sang on this. Hawkwind actually recorded the original version of "Motorhead"not long before Lemmy "left".
