In this video: I took what used to be part of a rootball that I cut off a bigger tree so it would fit into a pot, planted it to see what would happen, and it sprouted! Now I'm attempting to make a bonsai from it.
A strong leader grew but it grew very straight. Too thick to bend I decided it needed chopped. I did an initial chop some time ago but it still didn't look right.
In this video, I have a go at tackling the issue, but did I do the right thing?
Will this root-cutting become a decent bonsai someday?
Would you cut the shoot off completely or do what I did?
I would love to know, but I suppose there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to bonsai - one should do what one feels. Would you agree?
Cheers,
Bill
