One that was very epic and probably had the best entrance I've ever seen was the king of elyeum loyce. DS1 is better but DS2 gets waaaaaaay too much hate.

Oh absolutely, Dark Souls 2 is a fantastic game. It has some iffy mechanics such as soul memory, enemies leading their shots, hitboxes. But other than that, it is incredibly good. Some bosses are pushovers, but so were some bosses in demons souls, dark souls 1, and bloodborne. But as in each of those games, the bosses considered pushovers are easily balanced out by the greats of each game. Bloodborne had things like Laurence, Ludwig, The orphan, Amygdala, Gehrman, and the like to balance out easy bosses like Rom and the One Reborn. Dark souls 1 had Artorias, O&S, Manus, Kalameet, Gwyn, and the like balance out Bed of Chaos, Pinwheel, and the Butterfly. Demons was interesting in the way that its bosses weren't that hard at all, but they were so unique and they just took an idea and ran with it. All the bosses in demons are about equal when you know how to beat them, and honestly, its got probably the most unique boss designs in the series. And while dark souls 2 may have some shitty bosses, such as the Prowling Magus, Covetous demon, Vanguard and Authority, and such. It has so many good bosses too! Fume knight, Sir Alonne, Burnt Ivory King, Sinh, Elana, Mirror Knight, Old Dragonslayer, Pursuer, Freya, Old Iron King. There are plenty of awesome bosses in DS2, I just think people don't like the change in style, feel, and pacing with the game. The areas do feel disconnected and unrelated, however, they feel a hell of a lot more unique and creative than i could ever say for dark souls 3 with its excessive rehashes.

Actually fighting Sir Alonne in the dlc was an awesome surprise for me as the blacksteel katanas were my weapon for 99% of the main game of DS2 and I used parts of the alonne knight armor in my outfit. So walking into the boss room to see Sir Alonne standing there waiting for me. It felt like a student challenging the master to a duel. Favorite boss fight in DS2. Ivory king was more of a cinematic fight that always feels like some kind of movie finale and its great dropping in with your knights and summons to take on the charred army. But Alonne is boss that I always have the most fun fighting. It just feels right

Sir Alonne is my favorite as well. Everything about the fight is perfect IMHO. He has a great arena, the best theme in the game, well telegraphed and smooth as butter attacks (his sword buff only activating if you let yourself get hit by his attack, which *stacks* an additional time, was a genius move) make it one of the best fight in the entire series. A beautiful duel, against a proud warrior. Long did he roam, Sir Alonne, in search of a worthy cause. And one fateful day, a young lord met this wandering knight, the two together ushering forth the Kindom of Iron. But the kings ambitions, his desire to rule forever disgusted Alonne, who quietly took his leave, remembered by his old friend, who named his mighty army in the Ronin's name. And this is where we meet him, alone, in thought, musing if all he did was worth it, in his quest for fame and glory. He knows not who we are, or perhaps he does, but it matters little now, for the Iron Kingdom is gone, charred and blackened stone all that remains. Alonne nonetheless knows, for us to make it this far, we are indeed a fellow warrior, and thus he stands tall, stands proud, ready as always, to face his end. He'd never have been Sir Alonne otherwise

“In his quest for fame and glory” I read that as alonne pondering about his old king, and that just makes me so sad, especially since he still has his old throne, alonne still cares, but cannot support his king’s tyranny, no matter how much of the friend he once was may still linger… 😭

I believe that the prince of Alken is the iron king, when he was young and good-hearted, but something must have happened to the princess of Ven, his beloved, that made him cold and power-hungry, he became a king cruel hunting the undead for sport in Huntsman's Cops, and greedy with his iron castle, maybe Mr Alone is gone because of that
@dineez627 Жыл бұрын
There's one thing that always nags me. The Old Iron King was a nobody before Sir Alonne showed up. Sir Alonne's desire to help is never stated. Why help a lord barely known by other nobles? We know Sir Alonne has some global fame because he was allowed in a nobles court (the Old Iron King didn't invite him) but that's not much to go on. So why help? The why always gets me because there is no concrete answer but I want one.
@thepublicpotato38874 ай бұрын
You clearly misunderstood the lore during the fight you are playing as the iron king. Thats why it says memory of the iron king. The iron king was the one who murdered alonne after he deserted him. After he defeated him the iron king found a chair presumably the one he used when he was just a young lord a memento Alonne kept during a time long past. One of the most tragic fights in the trilogy as it essentially 2 former friends fighting eachother.

It's amazing isn't it? A completely optional boss fight has such an amazing theme to it, and for good reason. This is Sir Alonne, a Warrior from the East which the knights of the Iron King emulated in his honor. And to defeat him is no easy feat, but ultimately, can be a very sad one, for if you defeated him without getting hit even once, he takes his own life instead of you delivering the killing blow. The second time I fought him, I made sure it did not happen, for he deserves to die a true warrior's death, with our blood spilled in battle.

This guy is a great example of story telling done well in a video game. You walk in, he is mediating. He stands, does a head bow, and the fight commences. In about 5 seconds I get a sense that this fight is 1) against someone who values wisdom and honor 2) this is a dual 3) this is the dual this guy has been waiting for his whole life. It heightens the drama in the fight. Think about how, say, Dragon Age Inquisition would do this fight. You would get about 5 minutes of a long villain speech and exposition where the villain says I am evil. No real gameplay occurs. Thank you fromsoft for this fight.

This is so a theme worthy of a final boss. As grand as Sir Alonne was, I almost expect something bigger with this song playing. Then again, I'm kind of off my rocker that way. Sir Alonne was still the best damn boss in all three DLC packs, with the Burnt Ivory King coming at a close second in terms of sheer epicness (losing only because he needs several knights with him, while Sir Alonne actually fights you one on one).
@keithfilibeck239010 жыл бұрын
this theme is so great because Alonne is one of the only people in the series to not be corrupted or fall from grace, his ideals were pure, and he had a noble heart of a warrior, and he is by far one of the strongest beings to ever exist in universe. so of course he has a resplendent theme, to match his golden, resplendent Soul.
@hehehe889 жыл бұрын
I feel the score said a lot of Sir Alonne's "temperature", or how he thinks. Based on his moves, his impact, and the score, he was not a motherfucker to mess with. He was disciplined, honor-bound, wise, and possibly most frightening of all, confident. I think what they did for sir Alonne was very much in the same way of Artorias. They showed you the impact they had, and then allowed you to experience the real thing. Sure Artorias was almost a shell of what he was, but even a shell of Artorias was formidable, and with our forever-wondering about Alonne wielding the sword or the sword wielding Alonne, they make very notable characters and bossfights in the same sense. The perfect fusion of story-and-gameplay-at-the-same-time is something Ive seen tried alot but end up with some weird thing with either too little pacing, or is very bumpy or easily interrupted, but Alonne's fight and Artorias's fight are pinnacle examples, and exactly why i am a fan of From Software and trust that they are legitimately trying their best for the fanbase.

I recently began helping my friend beat Dark Souls 2. We had a wonderful time doing the main story line. My friend didn't understand why I was so excited to jump into the Crown of the Old Iron King DLC. When he asked, I simply replied with "Sir Alonne..." He is going to hate me when I tell him that he's doing the fight alone. One does not simply gangbang Sir Alonne. One must have honor. One must bow when they enter this duel. One must clash blades with this most honorable opponent. One must abstain from using sorceries, pyromancies, miracles, and hexes. One must give Sir Alonne the fight that he deserves. This is my favorite boss from all of the Souls games with Dragonslayer Ornstein, Knight Artorias, Velstadt the Royal Aegis, Maiden Astraea, the Burnt Ivory King, and Great Grey Wolf Sif coming closely behind. Thank you FromSoftware for giving him a most fitting theme.

Fume knight was just the easiest thing i’ve ever killed in my life but Alonne was my nightmare for 2 days straight, even though i’ve killed every boss Ds1, Ds3, Bloodborne and Sekiro has to offer, I still found him hard. Until something clicked. I had gotten him to around 40% hp and then for the rest of the fight i’d only been maybe twice. He is my favorite boss in the series!

Idk gays, this might be the best theme from the whole trilogy. Ultra-biased opinion, cuz this is my 1st souls game, but still... This is really something else. I lack the words to describe it. It's simply amazing.

And that´s exactly why Music is so soooo important in games, the player just creates so much more emotion and fusion to the game and the respective part the game I´m so into Dark Souls !!

can we please agree that sir alonne and fume knight actualy where some really unique bosses with a humanoid form. those goddamn movesets on the two bosses, it felt so good to master rolling away from everything, felt so satisfying killing both fume knight and alonne

Sir Alonne easily top 5 best bosses in soulsborne, personally within my top 3. Idk what it is, the arena, the music or sir alonne himself. I just love this guy so much and happily get my shit handed to by him any day

when I stepped in that room, I didn't feel like I was fighting a monster, no... in that room were 2 men, desperately struggling to survive, knowing each movement very well might be their last, and that's why I think this is the best boss in Dark Souls 2
