The Louisiana heat is not backing down, but neither or we! As we continue to build out the interior of our off grid shipping container storm shelter we discover unexpected obstacles. With a break from the frequent rains, we take full advantage of these hot conditions to get our hay season kicked off!!!

Hi guys, why don't you finish off the back wall with Insulation & Plywood so you can install your A/C mini split unit. You can run your electric wiring in the ceiling and run your wiring down into the walls from there. This way you can work in Confort. Why suffer in that Darn Heat. Just a thought... Can't wait until you do Solar and go off Grid ❤

Jim, I'm twice your age but I too have fond memories of following the baler and tossing square bales on a flat bed trailer. We only got a break when the string ran out. It was terribly hot miserable work, but, doing it with friends and family made is seem like fun. I also have fond memories as a pre-teen and teenager of spending time with my girlfriend in the hay loft. (OK, get you mind out of the gutter) Looking back, there were some special moments and we kept our clothes on. Fewer and fewer people will ever grow up like I did in the south. That makes me sad. Y'all have a very special place. Fight like hell to keep it.

Spray foam between 2x4 and metal inside, maybe vapor barrier. You can spray this as you go and cut back on the heat in that CON.

Jim's idea of bracing up the opposite wall and using a bottle jack and wood is "exactly" what I was think that I would be doing. Actually the bottle jack would have been a 2 person job while the screw jack made it 1 person job. Excellent Dent BeGone Hootis! That episode of Life in Pines 🌲 a couple weeks ago, where Teddy introduced the Tool Catching Hootis for use while elevated up on a ladder had me laughing out loud! He is such a character, I can only imagine what it must be like when he and Jim get together 🙃. I enjoyed the video today and am very glad you are feeling better again. Have a great week, stay hydrated and I'll see you on the next one. Take care my cajun friends 🤗♥

I have fond memories working in tobacco as a teen. It was honest, hard work and we did it with schoolmates so we had fun doing it. Guys I just watched a documentary on hurricane Ida in 2021 on Sky (cable tv here in Ireland) and it was mind blowing. In one of the clips it showed a container being rolled and rolled like a thrash can and that was in a built up area where everyone was staying indoors filming out their front doors and balconies. So I do hope that ye have that thing secured to metal plates or footings or something strong or else I hate to think what could happen if ye ever have to use it! Ye look like ye are in pretty open ground.

The Hootis King does it again. I don't think there's one that he has come up with that I wouldn't try.😊 I'm glad Lydia's eyes are better. Starting in April I my eyes started watering all the time, It caused my vision to be blurry even with glasses. I went to the eye doctor. he diagnosed me with cataracts. So in May I had surgery on both eyes. No longer watering . No longer need glasses. I loved that machine that rakes up the hay. I've never seen anything like that. Is it from back in the day? Even in 100+ degrees you both manage to do or say something that makes me laugh😂 We are being blessed with upper 70's to low 80s for the next 10 days here. Praying that you get some relief down there.

I would be concerned about the structural integrity of the container in a hurricane or tornado since it presents a very large area for the wind to push on. Cables from the top extending out at an angle to anchors would add a lot of strength for relatively low cost.

Luckily black widows are pretty docile unlike the brown recluse spiders which are buttholes and bite you because they can. I've had some black widows in my house and tolerate them for awhile but eventually I take my vacuum cleaner and use the attachment and suck it into the vacuum bag. I'd rather do that then try to squish them.
