Sometimes the featured pokemon of the battle feels like a stretch when another member of the team gets more screen-time. That was not the case today. Sceptile was without a doubt the STAR of these two battles. That sweep in game 1 was absolutely astonishing, I couldn't believe how lucky you got.

Man, this is one of the luckiest games i’ve ever witnessed. First, he lands a scorching sands and burns turn 1, then he gets lucky as his opponent expected a switch and used knock off, removing what could’ve been a liability and basically granting a burn. Then, he lands a fire blast. Not to mention him not getting fully paralyzed for the entire match, and being paired against deoxys-defense to swords dance to +4. Overall, it was a fun and lucky game, and yeah, i think this is the perfect way to showcase sceptile’s return and new strength.

Ive been messing around with a sceptile that uses a power herb to fire off a solar blade turn one, which triggers unburden and enables acrobatics. And then i also run leafstorm if i need more grass firepower since sceptile’s spatk is actually really good. And then also eq for coverage

I Honestly feel like i really Am learning something by watching these. i don't know why you're not a more popular poke-tuber. you make complicated strategies seem easily digestible and have great commentary. even a casual like me (albiet im trying to get a bit more skilled via pokemon Emerald Rogue) can enjoy and learn from the videos! Haydunn really is a man of the people, honestly. its great to see and im happy that he seems to be having a blast with it. in other news, Under the right conditions grass starters seem to be really Underrated compared to most fire and water starters and it's honestly shocking to see. i was always one of those people who picked the fire type in *every* game even if it was the 4th fire fighting (Cough Emboar Cough.) I've always loved this Pokémon, probably my favorite starter. I love that it gets shed tail and I've had a lot of fun abusing shed tail plus giga drain or leech seed. It's not the greatest thing to ever exist, but it's been really fun because people forget you can do it and when you're fast setting up the seeds to then switch out and leave a sub for something else like a focus punching golurk? Kind of fun

Too bad Shed Tail is banned, since Shed Tail is part of Sceptile's movepool now. Think about it- Sitrus Berry + Unburden + Shed Tail, you can run Acro EQ Leaf Blade and Shed Tail max Attack max HP and pass tails and take souls.

I've been meaning to point out that the grassy terrain doesn't reduce all earth type damage. In fact, it only affects earthquake and bulldoze (previously also magnitude, when it was in the game), so it didn't affect earth power at all.
