As a Kiwi football fan, one word sums it up 'Scummy'. But at the end of the day you gotta feel sorry for the players. No matter the result the Canadian football team will be tainted by the scandal, but frankly the Canadian FA apologizing isn't good enough. There have got to be consequences for breaking the rules.

The claim by Brian Hayes that Bev Priestman had needed to go from Canada's women's soccer team were a FIFA investigation to implicate her in Dronegate it's part of a broader discussion that starts at the 5:00 mark of the video in question. As much as I hope, as a fan of Canada's national soccer teams, fast Seattle women's won will win a medal during these Olympic Games, I'm concerned, given the shenanigans of 2 then-staffers later sent home, Dronegate will taint that win. In any case, 2 games remain for each Group A team, with the relevant respective French, Canadian, Colombian and New Zealand teams with 3, 2, 2 and 1 goals scored and 3, 3, 0 and 0 points. The second game for the relevant Canadian team will be against its French counterpart, with the winner, should there be one, possibly set to qualify for the knockout stage.

@17:30 Regarding Frank's question if someone was arrested over this? The answer is YES. The person who was arrested was the Canadian operating the drone, Joseph Lombardi. BTW Lombardi operated the spying over multiple non-consecutive days so this wasn't a "mistake". The French National Police arrested Lombardi under CRIMINAL charges for operating an UNAUTHORIZED and UNREGISTERED drone in France (crimes #1 & #2) , and operating said drone over CONTROLLED AIR SPACE (ie.. all Olympic spaces are designated no-fly zones for national security & counter-terrorism prevention) (crime #3). Lombardi was arrested, charged, and CONVICTED on criminal offenses by French authorities. I'm assuming the French deemed it more expedient to simply hand him an 8 mo SUSPENDED CRIMINAL SENTENCE and EJECT HIM from the country rather than pursue harsher penalties which would draw further negative press on Opening Ceremonies. I guess that plan backfired when reporters started digging and discovered both Canadian Men's & Women's national teams have a longstanding, SYSTEMIC history of cheating. Who is Joseph Lombardi? He is officially on the payroll as an “unaccredited analyst” with Canada Soccer. In REALITY what this really means is Team Canada are allotted a certain number of paid "accredited coaching" slots. To get around this, you just hire additional coach staff as "analysts". Joseph Lombardi, being an analyst, was "officially" under the direct supervision of assistant Canadian Coach Jasmine Mander. This is why Mander was sacked with Lombardi.
