BRAVO Rockwood .... Standing "O"!!!! One suggestion to ponder is taking that 3 cube wide storage by the rear door down to 2 cubes wide. That could then add 10" - 12" to the bathroom, move the toilet into the corner and add a roomier rectangle shower.

This was my FAVORITE travel trailer, ever! It appears they have done away with it in 2023, in both the Rockwood and the Flagstaff!! As a couple that never uses a dinette, hates bunkhouses, loves theater seating, and wants additional seating for our camp friends, this was perfect. Room for people and dogs, without tripping over each other, and able to be inside without being claustrophobic. There are a lot of couples with no kids, but lots of friends, that value the extra comfortable seating. I am so sad that they didn't really give this model a chance.

Josh, you provide a picture of the floor plan and the specifications. Could you also include the MSRP of the unit at the time of your video so potential customers are able to determine if the cost of the trailer is within the range they are willing to spend? Mfg pricing changes regularly So the only way I can provide a meaningful figure is via a link to our site that always has current and relevant data. Way too big for me, but I love Murphy beds. The bar stools are a nice touch, and I love the rest of the seating. If I had a bigger tow vehicle and didn't want bunks for the kids, I'd put this one on my list. I don't mind dinettes, but as a "vertically enhanced" person, getting my knees under those tables is often a challenge. I can handle it for a weekend or even a week long trip, especially as I plan to eat most meals outside, but if I were a full timer or even just spending the whole summer at a site, I'd opt for seating like this. Oh Gosh, I have pondered over quite a few Rockwood designs everything from the 30 foot 5th wheels, to the 2613 Ultralite to quite a few of the mini's as they pack so many great features into a small camper. I currently have a Coachmen 248RBS, but not real happy with the lack of counter top space now that we live in the age of Covid as well as lack of coat storage space, so no eating out for us anytime soon. Soooo, I have been looking at the minis because I love the Azdel product. This model has incredible storage, counter top space and I love the breakfast bar. I'm just wondering how loud is the AC in this design? The best feature of the 248RBS is being able to close the bedroom door. I have a LQ horse trailer and it can get quite loud with the AC, but I am in the Gooseneck area so basically right above it. I wish I could hear and see a video with the AC on. This model is definitely on my short list. Most folks go bigger and I am looking at going smaller so I can fit in more remote camping areas. Josh, thanks for you indepth videos. It is very much appreciated!

I would like to see a few mods to this floor plan. A full width larger bathroom even if it means getting rid of the outside kitchen and adding a bit of length. An updated solar package with 3 or 4 panels and a large enough inverter to run everything in the rv including an ac unit. Go with the full size 12 volt fridge. The smaller soft start ac from the geo pro would likely be ok. Add in two or three of the 400 amp hour lithium batteries. Couple this with the sport package for extra ground clearance and we would have a camper for traveling that could avoid campgrounds for quite a wile as well as enjoy extended stays off grid at more remote spots. I suspect it would still be able to get into state parks and national parks and handle rough roads when the need arises. Right now this is the camper I am most interested in followed by the 2516.

Nice idea for a floorplan. I'm definitely on the side of more dinofas/less dinnettes. For me personally, the L shaped kitchen counter and sink/breakfast bar kill it for me. Portrudes too much into the living space. This model would be a much more openly spacious version (with better guest capacity) of the 2205S if they used the same kitchen counter/sink arrangement as the 2205S and deleted the breakfast bar. Add an electric fireplace too. The double doors on this one would really help outshine the lack of natural air and light on the camp side of the 2205S. If they make one like i just described, I'm sold.

This one looks like it is made for easy travelling access. I wish more units had the kitchen breakfast bar and open space in the kitchen Me personally I would be okay shrinking the rear pantry some to add space in the bathroom, since fluffy people like me need a little wiggle room. I like having the outside shower centered on the back, giving access for the awning area /rear door and the sanitation /dump station. Again Rockwood knocks another unit out of the park with balancing everything out.

I think if they didn’t already have a 2205S from which a LOT of elements in this rv were borrowed a revised bath may have been in order. I really like your give and take on it though

@@chrisrowland2223 I appreciate that. I pass a LOT of comments onto brand managers. But sometimes I see someone say something like "stupid it doesn't have a camp kitchen." When I mention "I'm really just not sure where one could fit. Do you have any ideas?" I usually get responses like "no they should figure that out" or "yeah this one does it" (then a link to a massively different floor plan that doesn't help) If someone can't tell me a viable alternative, then I don't really have any ability to assist in sharing that idea. So trust me when I said: *I appreciate what you do!* I'm sure Matt does as well :)

I've been waiting a long time for you to review this model and you didn't disappoint. The elevated bar is the only reason my wife will consider a murphy bed. The two doors and darker furniture works great. I saw a small electric fireplace at Lowe's that might fit next along the wall next to the refrigerator and the wall even has an outlet for it. Just don't forget to move it before bringing the slide in. The bathroom is much smaller than I like but how much time do you really spend in there anyway? This model is now in play with the 252rbs when we are ready to purchase. We would also get rid of those stools and replace them with padded chairs with backrest. The perfect little couples camper.

So here's how impressed with this unit I am : → Originally from the floor plan print I thought it was going to be stupid. → But Had requests for some & ordered some anyway → Walked up to it with a chip on my shoulder → Opened the door and was blown away immediately → I don't watch RV videos. I just don't have time. Not even my own. → I've watched this 3-4 times myself → Might be my new favorite mini lite which says a lot considering how impressed I am with that 2516S

I am very impressed with that 2516s as well. However, sitting at the theater seating it looks like your boxed in and doesn't seem to have a open feeling about it. I haven't walked in one yet so I could be totally wrong. 2516s is still in my top three though. Keep up the good reviews.

We too were interested in seeing a 2516s but couldn’t find one that we could actually walk into. I was concerned about the sitting area feeling cramped and only having seating for 2 people. Just thought of something for the top of the bed, in the murphy bed, when it's in travel mode. Have a net go over the mattress and latch to some kind of hooks on the side of the bed. That away if you don't have time to make it, the net would hold everything in place, nothing hanging out on the sides, neat as can be. Let the fun begin.

The interior floor plan does look different. Is it because the refigerator is on the other side of the kitchen? These size trailers don't usually have bar stools either do they? This is one time I really like having the free floating table. And theres storage under the couch under the murphy bed! You can barley tell that murphy bed is there. Not a lot of direct kitchen storage but they make up for it in the pantry which is ample. You are right about that counter space. Bathroom leaves a bit to be desired for fluffier people. Bummer about the bed. It's a good thing to know though. I was just about to write, I'm going to leave the bed down all the time. I like the two doors for access to the important stuff you need to get to, the potty, the kitchen, the bed.

@JoshtheRVNerd2 жыл бұрын
I do agree that front door seems "extra" in this one. If I had to guess I would estimate the back half of the RV was cut/pasted from the 2205S while the front was built off the 2507S idea. The 2nd door was probably not intentional but since it didn't hurt anything they likely just kinda way "meh.. why not?" Just a theory. But it's how Rockwood Rolls

Like this one only concern is the cloth shade that is by the stove. Maybe they should have put the stove oven down at the far right and m over the other storage cab/drawers in center so gives you a large open prep space between the sink and stove and where the window is no concern about the stove for fire, heat or grease.

Doors aren't a significant weight variance (some for sure, but nothing to write home about). Josh, what is it that breaks if you travel with the Murphy bed down? We recently brought the Flagstaff version (25FBS) home. Have only played with it in the driveway so far and with salt on the roads now it will be awhile before we use it. Answering a couple comments, the blind over the stove is an aluminum mini blind. I didn’t think 2 doors were necessary until I backed it into my storage building and found that I cannot open the rear door in storage and will definitely want the rear door for great kitchen/bathroom access. The toilet is ceramic. Ours has the 12 v fridge and 1 190 watt solar panel….there is plenty of room for more panels.

Thanks for doing these videos. Yours are some of the most informative I see. I also appreciate the closed slide videos. Really like this unit, but have a question - we've never considered, nor had a murphy bed. Watching the video, seems pretty easy to fold out of the way, and saw someone elses comment that a thicker mattress would still work with it. A quesiton I have for you (or others) is what do you do with the bed pillows when the bed is in the "up" position? Do those tuck back in with the mattress, or do they have to find a different home for the day?
@JoshtheRVNerd2 жыл бұрын
You can tuck pillows under that Y-Strap before flipping it shut in theory. I have always been nervous about that and likely would slide my pillow into the bottom of the hanging closet beside the bed under my shirts So it's kind of personal preference
@nicoleogden82102 жыл бұрын
Make your bed like you would normally do, pillows in place at the head. Attach the Y-strap which secures the pillows and blankets. Fold up the bed. It's that simple. We always leave our pillows in place and have never lost one.

My husband and I own this model and this floor plan. I have only one complaint-The wardrobes beside the murphy bed. They are so deep and tall there is no way you can utilize them. They are 38" deep. If you lose a sock in the back it's gone forever. I really wish they would have at least built shelves into it. The cabinet itself is 14" wide but the door frame opening is only 10" so you can't even build slide out shelves worth anything. And because of the 10" door opening we can't even use any kind of basket or container for clothes that makes any sense at all. Finally, my husband decided he was going to just build in his own shelves. But the walls are not showing any place where he could secure anything with screws. So the only option that we can think of is to glue framing to the walls and put a false wall about 30" back to prevent clothes from sliding so far back we can't get to them without a grandma hand grabber. Seriously, as an owner of this floor plan, this is my ONLY complaint. Other than that, this TT is PERFECTION!! Ask me anything about using this camper, I'd be happy to talk about it's awesomeness all day long. :)

I love dinettes, when they are done well!!!! Larger, bigger table, decent space between heavy humans and the table, longer benches. The larger/longer means a better booth (far closer to the diner booth experience rather than the eating with elbows glued to your sides) dining AND a true full or queen bed, not the kids bunk most dinettes are relegated to, and better storage that can include large pull out drawers at the bottom and chest style storage in the inner most 1/3 of each bench where the drawers can't reach. The best dinettes also have very sturdy tables. Done well, dinettes are great small space multi-purpose spaces!! Done poorly they can be a complete waste of space!! The folding tables can be convenient with in and out options. Again if those are done right they are great, poorly they are shakey, too narrow, and in the way.

Love it, but I'd love it more if they lost the rear side door and converted that area into a tool/storage area with a mini door (more of an access hatch really like they have on some other models) on the back to load in bikes, etc., from behind the trailer. For those that pack a few kids the area could be a bunkroom. Like the theater seating as I'd be using that area for "work on the go" with this trailer. Even better since there is the murphy bed dinofa would be something more oriented towards using it as a workspace when not watching the TV like a fold out table from the arm that would be easier to have the keyboard on.

Interesting. I think if a door were to be lost, then I'd rather lose the front door. But either way it does feel like maybe this model has one more door than it needs. At the same time I also kind of like how this camper has a sort of "Front door living room and back door kitchen" kind of feel

I love this unit except for one deal killer for me. It only has a 30 gal gray water tank with 54 gal fresh water tank. We want to do some boondocking and I am afraid based on past experience the 30 gal gray tank is not going to be enough. I wish it had a 50 gallon or at least a 40 gallon tank. I am also not a big fan of the radius shower because I am a big guy but from the video it looks like it might work for us as it appears to be a deep one. Everything else about this unit we love. I hope they will improve the gray tank and we will buy it.

@nicoleogden82102 жыл бұрын
We actually do boondocking in this camper. The 54 gallon freshwater lasts us 3-4 days. We have an outdoor shower tent we set up and in that we put a portable toilet and also use a 5 gallon solar shower. Using both of those means we don't typically put a drop of water into our waste tanks. Our toilet is VERY basic and just collects waste into a bag that we tie up and store in a separate can with a lid (along with the dog's poop bags). We drop that all in the trash on the way home. BAM!
