Hey Uncle Josh, I hope that you're having a great day! I really like this 2025 Rockwood Geo Pro20FKS with dual axles. The front kitchen is amazing with the layout of it! In the living room area of this unit the wall the TV is on I wish that they would have put a electric fireplace space heater under the TV! They done an amazing job on this Rockwood Geo Pro. This is a Great unit for a single person, a couple or single parent with a child. Thank you Uncle Josh for showing us an giving us the information on this unit. Hey there, I have a GP 19FBS. I love it. The 20FKS is interesting and really cool that they went with a dual axle. Still, the split dump valves seem like a royal pain. When at the dump station, you now have to connect one tank and dump it and then move the camper to get the rear tank. Rockwood will definitely figure out how to combine the waste valves for convenience.

The very first videos I watched on KZbin was of Geo Pros. They were the first RVs that caught my interest and remain so. They were also the gateway to watching your videos 5 or so years ago. :) As I got schooled by you (HA!), it became clear that these are probably not an ideal fit for me as a future solo camper. But I still love to see what this line is doing. I like this! It's creative, not perfect, but quite functional. There's nothing I consider lethal in it's design. Good stuff!

Impressive option for a single camper! Some comments you asked for plus a couple of my own suggestions: 1. Having had the pleasure of driving on a flat tire without knowing it and also the amazing experience of a blowout on the road, single axle + me = NEVER! No matter how small the camper, just no. 2. LOVE the 60x80 mattress, even in this orientation. Thanks to Rockwood from my back and my wallet when I replace the factory one. Rookie mistake to think an odd sized mattress will be fine and if not, easily replaced. Not easily and more often than not, not cheaply. I am on the team that thinks campers should come from the factory without a mattress! I am in my 5th camper and did not sleep one night on any factory included mattress. 3. Bluetooth baby! I might use that because I never use the tradtitional speakers, inside or out. I did add a Bose Bluetooth soundbar which is amazing! 4. Had dual dump connections once, don't want them again. Single single single, no matter where it is located!! 5. For those of us without small kiddos, would love an option to replace the fold down bunk with storage cabinets. In a pinch, baskets might work but the head bump would be an issue. When things go bump in the night, the next bump for sure would be to my head! 6. For a camper of this size, I would do a micro/convection combo under the cook top to free up cabinet space. I have never owned any Rockwood product but they have always been on my radar and with changes like they made here they will continue to get serious consideration. Thanks, Josh!!

Thanks Nerd! Loving that they added a 2nd axel!! So many good decisions on items included and excluded inside and outside of this model. The bathroom - I can honestly say I would rather not have the storage/counter so there is elbow room. That is not a deep slide, I honestly think I could deal with a single sewer outlet under it.

What a great little rig! Ditch that outside speaker/sound system and instead drop that TV down 3 feet and give it decent sound instead. Leave the Bluetoothing up to the owners. They can choose to spend $20 or $1000 on their portable speaker setup and save wiring RV and holes in the walls. It would be nice to figure out the sewer monsters riddle too. A little more headroom might be enough to not lose the over 6 footers. Cheers Nerd! 😁👍🏽

Josh, the one thing that I would say would be better is a little optional tiny sliding rack where that refrigerator is at so that you could put your own for example and I make no money off of this. I just use this in my big rig Alpicool t55 or t 63 freezer fridge combo you would certainly have a lot more room for popsicles or anything that you want to keep frozen or heck if you want to keep the whole thing frozen or refrigerated you have a lot more room than what’s in that little refrigerator there and trust me folks, those things are tough it’s on and it’s bouncing around 24 hours a day in my truck

I love your videos as always! We camp 4-5 months of the year and are looking to downsize. There are too many parks that we can't find 24 foot spots, but 22 foot and below are available. I love this camper, however I wish that Rockwood would give an option of storage cabinets over the queen vs the bunk bed. Additionally, I wish they had sewer hose storage. The two gray tank lines aren't ideal, but I could work with that. That seems like a simple add on. I never considered geo pro, but now that they have a tandem axle I look forward to seeing if they make any tweaks to the next model year. Thanks again!

Ooooooooo! LOVE the tandem axle! And the numbers work for my mid-size truck, too! (Nissan Frontier SV 4WD). FWIW, I'd prefer the single dump connection under the slide. Actually, I'd prefer no slide and a dinette. But it's just me and my dog, so... Really nice kitchen. It has more counter space than my current sticks n' bricks kitchen, LOL! A little bigger (or double side) sink would be nice though. (Am I the only one that likes to wash in one side and rinse in the other? How are people doing dishes with a single sink? LOL) I'll be watching to see if they do a tandem axle with no slide and a dinette. (preferably without bunk beds, too...but that's not a deal breaker...). I have the estimate in hand to order a custom cargo trailer in the spring, but GeoPro was my first choice-if only it was a tandem axle, so there's still time...

We are a couple with no grandkids to bring along, so we would not need the bunk. That said, we do a lot of adventuring (mountain biking, hiking) and each have a full duffel of clothes just for those things. I would never want to just throw the duffels on the bunk platform - way too awkward, plus that stuff’s going to fly around on bumpy roads unless you also figure out how to tie it all down. Although I love the kitchen space (but lose the oven, please, and replace with just a cooktop with storage underneath), and the bathroom and couch seating would work for us, there’s no way we could make this work for us without exchanging the bunk for cabinets. Our current trailer (a 2008 FunFinder X210) offered that option when they were in production and our model has the cabinets, which we use fully (plus the under-bed storage and the storage under the dinette).

As for the sewer outlet question, we both think it would be better to have a single outlet even if it's under a slide since you can always hook up the sewer before you run your slide or if you're using a dump station the slide will be in anyway. In this case, the egg definitely comes first. ...or is the slide the egg? Oh no. Thanks for the video, Uncle Josh!

Once again, Rockwood really sets the bar. I really enjoy their models. so what now? Hmm...I can only speak from my perspective. I am an older single professional, work remotely, so I need a dedicated office space, or the ability to transform something into a dedicated office. a decently sized table for my computing needs, a storage section that is set up to allow a PC to rest there (access, airflow, etc). If they could add that to something like this model It would be heaven for me. Also I'd like to see some models take into account a single occupancy concept. like in this case, the top bunk for a single person is wasted space. It would be better to have an option to replace that with modular shelving or something more adaptable to a single persons lifestyle.

Very interesting! Personally, I really like the layout. It would be good for my wife, our daughter, and myself. A little better “wardrobe” storage would be nice, but not a deal breaker. If they had the TV a little lower, had an electric fireplace below it, and a couple of shallow storage cubbies or shallow cabinets above and below the TV it would be nice for the extra storage. Yes, that would decrease the road mode accessibility, but it would be worth it in my opinion. Having that electric heater in the winter time REALLY cuts down on propane use.

Good for what it is but does not fit my needs I’d put some side hooks for a net above the bed for storage option instead of bunk - hooks make it dual purpose and secure storage when traveling!

True, but because weight in the back is the WORST place for weight (tail eats the dog). And while that bunk may be rated for 250-300 pounds, that could possibly be exceeded with 100 pounds when it bounces down the road.

LOVE the floor plan. GVWR is just under my max tow limit 🙂The problem for me is the hitch weight 😞 My max hitch weight is 500lbs. To modify the hitch weight, could the axles be moved forward about 6 or 8 inches, changing the fulcrum point, to help reduce the hitch weight? Always a great job, Josh ! 🙂

🎉 OK Josh this one is a home run. I really like the tandem axles and yes, I would love to see the north south bed in something like this with tandem axles. Lol being smacked around in the middle of the night as my wife crawls over me is not my idea of a great time lol. Would also like to see that TV lowered a bit. since I can’t have theater seats to lean back in. And of course, I would love to get rid of the bunk and put some cabinets up there. Didn’t have to be a ton, but just enough to wear my wife and I can put our clothes up and out of the way. Either that or possibly have the bed raise up a bit so we can put stuff down below it. I know that would take away some of the belly space but I’d be good with that. But overall, I really like this layout. And definitely like the kitchen area. That was fantastic to see. And last, but at least still need that flag pole to hang our nerd herd flag on at the RV parks 😂. As always Josh keep rockin it my friend. Oh and one more thing, my wife wants a koozie, she’s been ripping mine off. Lmao 🤣

You know what I don't need in these campers, is a big sink or kitchen unit I'm mainly going to be microwaving everything, I don't need a big bathroom pooping while I shower is just fine with me :-) I don't need it to be more than one maybe two people to sleep in there, and I don't need it to be less than two axle. A lot of the single axles on the market need to be tandems and a lot of the 32’ plus need to be triples. We almost bought a 17JG now a JW and it had 100lbs more tongue than my 264BH empty yet it was 10’ shorter. This will really change how this camper tows.

I’m very impressed with the kitchen and the storage is pretty good. I don’t think they’ve gone big enough with the sink. I worry about those power towers, because they’re in areas where there could be a high fluid throughput. I love the extra bed, that’s a fab camper for 3 (or more!) It’s great they do that floating table, I’d be tempted to buy some individual foldable dining tray things and keep them put away for the most part. You can use them outside too. The toilet is not conducive to staying in the bathroom any longer than you absolutely have to 😂! #rvnerdherd #nerdherd

Wow! They really did a great job on this one! I’m still pretty sold on the new Mini Lite 2506FK, but if I didn’t need the comfort of the Theater seating (I need a comfortable place to work from my laptop), I’d consider this model. My Tundra would probably appreciate the lighter weight (that 820# tongue weight of the 2506FK has me a little concerned), for sure! I’d like to see an electric space heater/fireplace below the TV, as well, but I also appreciate that it may not be possible with the bathroom being right behind that wall. I’m not a fan of that type of slide, either, but I’m I’ve not seen a problem with one in any of the Rockwood/Flagstaff groups I’m following, either. Thank you for another awesome review! You and your editor do amazing work! In my current trailer (2016 Team Lodge Extreme 2), I do frequently use my outdoor speakers. However, those are decently sized speakers that probably provide better volume and quality than these tiny, single units offer. In this case, I’d be apt to just carry along a tabletop Bluetooth speaker system. It’s certainly not a dealbreaker for me.

@@JoshtheRVNerd, I’m super excited to see your video review of this one! I appreciate your input and advice in these videos. “Road mode” usability is important to me. That’s what I like about the 2506FK over the previous version or the 2516S. I am curious how comfortable the new, larger theater seating will be, as they switched it to a “fold-down center console” instead of the “fixed center console.” I also think I’d remove the outdoor mini fridge and use that space for levelers, chocks, tools, and the battery charger for my Milwaukee cordless tools (making use of the electrical outlet intended for the mini fridge). Alternatively, it would be a great space for lithium batteries, DC/DC charger, and shunts. I’m currently preparing my 2016 Team Lodge Extreme 2 to be listed for sale so I can purchase a more travel appropriate RV this spring. The 2506FK is currently at the top of my list! :) This GeoPro sure is a tempting option for lighter weight, though! Very neat rig in such a light package!

I've seen a video on this model recently.... 3 things: I think the kitchen sink is way too small, there is no leg room while sitting on the toilet, and the east west bed "might be" a possible problem... or not lol 😉 Also: wondering why the solar panels are on the same side? (Im just talking about even weight distribution).. And what are the pros and cons of having the flat post or a wheel on the power hitch? I'm just thinking what would I have to put under a wheel while parked on a sandy beach... School me Josh ! Everything else about this model is 👍🏼
@JoshtheRVNerd
@JoshtheRVNerd Ай бұрын
Solar panels aren't really enough weight to throw anything off. I'm not sure what else was in the roof area there Locating both panels in one spot MIGHT minimize the intrusion/impact of cutting into that laminated roof. Just a theory though The wheel on the tongue jack is nice for hand-parking an RV into a garage space or something (handy if you live in an HOA) Otherwise you'll want the flat leveling foot pad to keep her steady

I generally like the tandem axle idea, but this is a bit perplexing. So...we have a tandem axle 4000lb trailer that can only carry an additional 1000lbs. Why would this only be rated to carry 1000 lbs of cargo? I need to check, but is this more than the single axle version could handle? Are there any other dual axle travel trailers that are rated to only carry 5000 lbs?

I think rockwood is very cautious about avoiding just that. Even with tandem axles there is still a world of difference between this geo and a Mini lite The most similar to this one would be the 2506FK ► 1ft Wider Body ► Several Feet Longer ► Taller Sidewalls and Ceiling ► Private N/S Bedroom ► Vastly more storage ► More money ► More weight They're still VERY different products and targets

@@JoshtheRVNerd - I only get to see GeoPro's and Mini-Lites at the RV shows around here. Add to those, NoBo, Flagstaff EPro, IRex, Surveyor, Roo, Signature, Ultra Lite, R-Pod, Salem, Wilwood and more I don't remember. Forest River has so many brands. I guess many/all of those have been acquisitions and they keep the brands? So much overlap. I do believe they'd be better to consolidate, fewer models, higher volumes of each, that justifies more custom tooling and better builds. At least the materials are moving in the right direction, as you say, more use of composites that don't fall apart / rot when damp, better axles, and so forth. I hope to buy in 2025, watching these developments closely. Thanks for the informative reviews you do.
@TonyYarusso
@TonyYarusso Ай бұрын
Hopefully they use this not just for where the total trailer weight is getting high, but also to address the notoriously high hitch weights on these. There are TONS of tow vehicles that can easily handle the GVWR of Geo Pros but can’t handle the hitch weight of them. Supposedly you want that between 10% and 15% of the trailer weight, but they make floorplans that shipped at 14-19% empty, with passthrough storage compartments where your heaviest stuff will get packed at the very front along with the battery, so you end up running 20%+ instead… Of course, I still want to see an adjustable axle/suspension system that can be shifted fore and aft to get the right load balance for your particular cargo… (I have one of their “toy hauler” layouts, so have the worst of this situation as I put less than a hundred pounds of dog kennels and beds where they’re expecting 500-1000 pounds of ATV or motorcycle, which is a problem.)
